We loved going to the large market, you can grab all forms of public transportation, find a nice restaurant or cafe to have a seat outside on a nice day or go to one of the many parks within walking distance. It's also not far (walking or by train) from Konstablerwache, which is another thriving area. There is parking in the parking garage for Saturn and on-street parking. There is also a parking lot behind Rewe.

The band played & we sat here to take it all in. Romerberg is the historical center of Frankfurt's old town, known as Altstadt with traditional half-timbered houses & medieval Fountain of Justice in the square's center. Most buildings were destroyed in WWII, local authorities have reconstructed the main Frankfurt Square in recent decades & built new buildings in accordance with original plans. The square is dominated by the Romer building complex (City Hall), seat of the Frankfurt city administration. In Romerberg there are many cafes, shops, craftsmen's workshops & museums. Recommended are St Nicholas Church, St Paul's Church &Historical Museum. The square is also well known for Christmas Markets & imperial coronations. The Coronation Route, a walking tour through the colorful historic old town is recommended.

Very cool area of bars, bars, and more bars…read more Ran into a bartender in Chicago....who recognized me....and he used to work at the English Pub in this area....small world ! Kinda touristy....but looking beyond the young drunks and pseudo mofa staerks.... If you can...enjoy the architecture during the day...and come back for the partying at night.. Well worth checking out...Frankfurt has some cool stuff to do.... I won't share my "where to park" secrets here ! One of the best Doner Kebab places across from Hard Rock on the Grosse Rittergasse..(sp?)

Eiserner Steg Bridge from 1869 was made of iron and is the 2nd oldest. We enjoyed the skyline views from the main tower to see the city from 200 meters up.

Stumbled upon this place during our unexpected layover in Frankfort. This love lock bridge was…read morebeautiful, overlooking the river. A lot of pedestrians were using it for commuting purposes, we were seemingly the only tourists taking pictures. Luckily it wasn't crowded but I see online it can be. I didn't know about it so we didn't have a lock to leave, but it was beautiful to see this tribute to worldwide love.
