The main dentist, Brian Dasilva, has worked there for several years, drilling and filling. The original owners, Bob Whitely and Robert Dasilva (Brian's father) are both retired, although Robert occassionally "fills in" ... hahahaha. Anyway, over the years I've had many semi-annual check-ups, cleanings, and x-rays. The hygienists have all been superb. They've included Carol, Jackie (out on maternity leave), and Kathy, who saw me yesterday. There have been others as well. Anyway, shout out to Kathy who was extremely thorough yesterday. My teeth and gums were so happy afterwards...I think they did a little dance. No lollipops for me - 5 stars

My insurance verified that Family Dental was in network and would he covered in full for his cleaning. When we arrived I filled out all the paperwork while the front desk receptionist called my insurance carrier to verify our coverage. The receptionist left her window at the desk open while talking about our personal information which is a violation of HIPPA while patients came in and out of the waiting room. The phone volume was loud in the quite office so my husband and I could hear the entire conversation perfectly. The receptionist laughed and told the insurance worker "Wow, I wouldn't want to have this insurance" at this point my husband and I could tell that this appointment wasn't going to happen. Something was off and it sounded like we'd have to pay the out of pocket deductible to be seen. The receptionist never called us up to her window or even got up to speak to us, but sat in her chair behind her counter/desk and asked if we were going to be paying out of pocket for the visit. The visit was the most unprofessional experience I have had. My personal information should not have been heard in the waiting area as it's against HIPPA, the front desk receptionist needs to be retrained on how to be professional in the work place and take into consideration that its frustrating for the patient to be turned away. Laughing about the patients high copay is disrespectful. I am aware my insurance is not great, I pay ALOT per month for shitty insurance, but I'm doing my best trying to figure out where to go and this experience was disappointing on multiple levels and was handled incorrectly. I called and they gave me some info (using a hot tea bag instead of gauze; cold packs every minutes and taking an extra 1/2 of the codeine and eat it crushed ...that helped but I ran out of codeine today because they only gave me 10.
