Additionally, during my experience at the store, I have found that the staff is very helpful and often able to assist in the completion of various design questions. Not wanting to make assumptions, I stood there politely waiting for someone. Finally another woman finished with a customer but, without even looking around, asked a man standing across the room if she could help him. Now, granted he was there before me, so not a problem. But apparently the two knew each other, and he was a builder, and they started having a conversation about a swimming pool he was building for someone. I stood there to myself saying "Really?" and that's when Cruella de Vil, the other one sitting behind the counter, chimed in and snarled that someone would be with me shortly. I said that if you were going to stand around talking about building pools, maybe I need to find a store that sells lighting, and walked out.

I took them both to 2 other electricians, neither of whom could fix. I was so impressed that Rittersville Elec took my lamps, rewired them and still kept the integrity of their age. They both now work perfectly! The shop is old school and no frills, but do not be turned away by this. They have the skills and care of craftsman from what I remember of my childhood. The last project later in the day involved restoring operating fans to two old Stiebel Eltron electric storage heaters in our basement. Nick found a way to remove the bad fans and then troubleshot and replaced them with working fans from other heaters. This allowed the basement thermostat to work and the 2 heaters now could blow hot air into the room to better regulate the temperature.
