When…read moreyou enter you go into a small room with lots of home goods-- furnishings, appliances, books, lamps, decor, etc. They have lots of things, from washing machines to cool midcentury modern dining tables to seasonal decor to a pottery kiln (the last time we were there!). It's clear that the stuff in this room has been carefully picked through and the person making the selections on what to include has a good sense of taste. Then, if you turn left, you enter a big room with lumber, sinks, hardware, paint (!!), windows, cabinets, piping, light fixtures, and much more. I found two light fixtures that were super close to something specific I've been looking for. The problem is, the things I've found online have been over $1000. These were about $10. Not everything is in great condition but it requires a lot less patience and sorting through than your average antique store. You could restore a historic home using tons of stuff from here, and that's what we intend to do! We've also heard from others that the things here turn over fairly quickly, so it's worth going again and again. (We intend to do this as well! :) )

The building isn't much to look at, but the showroom has lots of good selection, and the owner, Henry, is super personable. He's not one to upsell you - he wants to make sure you pick out what you really want & need. His estimate was quick & was reasonable, but we ended up choosing another company because of a special promotional financing/free pad option through another Shaw distributor (had it not been for that special, he would have been cheaper). If you want good, local, friendly service, go see Henry. He runs a good business - no doubt why he's been around so long!
