The employees here are always friendly. But the prices are not it anymore. Most of the small trinkets are priced at $8 per. I honestly can't justify driving here anymore because these are boutique prices, not thrifting prices. I also understand that it's for DAV as well, but we've lost connection with all types of struggling people. Decent selection of books, but too many cookbooks. It was raining when I went in and there were several areas in the store that had water on the floor. I almost slipped twice. I bought a very large wooden fork that I assume is meant to be a wall decoration. I plan on using it to poke a hornet's nest on my porch. It was only $12. I like to pop in here every now and then and appease my Gear Acquisition Syndrome. In this case, that gear is Digicams. This was my final thrift stop on Sunday and I arrived 5 minutes before closing. (4:55pm). The camera gear is always up front in the glass case next to the register and after looking at the bottom and middle shelves I finally hit gold on the top one. Literally. There was a newspaper on the counter top so I was unable to see the contents of the top shelf in the case until I moved the paper. Low and behold I found a beautiful Olympus digicam that looked brand new. It came with the the charger, and a stock battery that still holds a charge along with a xD-Picture card (anyone remember those things). Long story short after a little bit of haggling I walked out to my car camera in hand, for less than $15. I've had luck here several times. About a month ago I picked up Pentax Optio digicam for $5. Thrifting is easy. All it takes is a little patience and sometimes a little haggling. One of the other reviews said the prices are to high, more like retail. Au contraire mon frère. It's a game. Items are marked to move. Sometimes they're color coded. If you know what the mean, you're one leg up. Never be afraid to ask for a discount, of if they can do better... or ever flat out suggest your own price. I find 9 times out of 10 any thrift store will make the sale so long as it's fair to them to. Last but not least, this is the Disabled American Vets thrift store. Not only do I do buy here on occasion, but I'm more than happy to donate items to this location as the proceeds help veterans. It's a great place all around. read more

Disappointing prices. We're new to the area but just moved here from an area that's considered higher cost of living. I was surprised by the prices at this thrift store. I think the most surprising was almost $7 for a pair of Old Navy mens jeans. I might try again another time but the pricing is a big deterrent for me. This DAV Thrift Store is pretty similar to other local DAV store locations. The staff is friendly and helpful, the store is clean and organized, prices are clearly marked, clothing is sorted on racks according to type and size. The spacious private parking lot is well maintained and free of debris, the walk up to the entrance is always clear. Not all thrift stores offer dressing rooms so I appreciate that this one has them. I know the recycled clothes are very inexpensive and the money goes for a good cause (supporting disabled American military veterans) but it's still nice to be able to try on a garment or two to make sure they fit before purchasing them. Like most thrift stores, sometimes you can find great bargains on items you want and other times you just can't find anything of interest. There is always a good selection of items like clothing and accessories, shoes, dishes, flatware, toys, etc... It's more hit or miss if you're shopping household goods, small appliances, electronics, power tools, furniture, etc... This DAV Thrift Store location (like other local DAV stores) is among the better local thrifts. In my experience, DAV generally has a better selection than most other local thrift stores so they must have a superior system of donations and distribution. If you have a military ID be sure to check out their Military Appreciation Day on the 15th of every month and get a generous discount. read more

This is my favorite thrift store in all of Hamptons! I'm always trying to find quality WOOD furniture that I can upcycle or convert into something else, and they always have a good amount, and boy does it go fast. I wanted a table I saw there, and the next day it was gone. You literally have to buy when you see and commit to the item lol. I also got a Blogilates gallon size waterbottle for $2, when those easily go for $40 brand new. The staff is really friendly, and the items are pretty good quality for being second hand. They have a minimal toy selection, as opposed to the other DAV in Virginia Beach, but it's really all about what you are looking for. I recommend. They give back to veterans. read more

I frequent this thrift store often and always find great deals from places like the loft, Banana Republic, target, black and white market, but I will say it is confusing as to how things are priced when everything is donated for free while the prices continue to climb. I find myself being able to go to Ross for a lot of the kids clothes and pay the exact same price for something brand new. That being said , The staff however, is absolutely wonderful and so friendly every time we go in. read more

If you're a yard sale fan, you would appreciate the DAV. Lots of random things for a whole lot less than what you would pay elsewhere. I browse the clothes section every time because you never know when you'll run across brand name items in great condition--sometimes they still have the orignal tag on them. This location has three dressing rooms available and an empty clothes rack that is 2 steps away from all three dressing room doors where you can hang the clothes you don't wish to buy. If you need to donate items, it couldn't be easier. Simply pull your vehicle up the the covered area on the right side of the building and one of the staff will offload the items for you and provide you a donation form for tax purposes. The dressing rooms have been closed for a LONG time. Past 2 times I've gone. They need to get the lock fixed if that's the real problem. The had two and both were closed. Losing out on A LOT of sales bc the items are not refundable..so if I can't try them on I'm not buying them .. If they fit I would have spent around 50$ ...compound that by all the customers shopping for clothes a day and you are losing serious sales. People are friendly there ..staff...other areas are organized and mostly kept clean. read more

I have shopped at this store since it opened. It's always been my favorite thrift store, but now not so much. The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful! The prices have gotten ridiculous. Way too high. Today I saw a fake Coach purse priced for $34.93!!! If you're going to do "boutique " pricing please take 2 minutes to research the item. Universal Thread boots from Target were marked $19!!! Whoever does the pricing needs a reality check. The inventory is DONATED. I now take my donations to CHKD. Pros: lots of stock, very well organized, clean, lots of parking, hardworking employees Cons: tons of people in here, items picked through, lots of cheap/low end stuff but it's overpriced, no real diamonds in the rough here. (E.g. A plastic gallon jug for water was in fair condition...it worked but was well used, plastic pretty scratched up was still $3.98. I could get a new one for $4.98 at Walmart). read more

I mostly look for myself but I have also gotten things for my small children that were next to new quality. Some of the brands I have brought home are: Timberland, Cato, Ralph Lauren, Limited and Victoria Secret, The one star off was because there are 3 dressing rooms and I recently noticed that 2 cameras on the ceiling were in view of 2 of the dressing rooms.
