Kids learned to make friends and be social. Later they graduated to Ms Lily's class where they learned to be more independent and take care of themselves. I was amazed at the tricks they learned in school about putting on their own clothes and shoes and hanging them on hangers after coming home. All the other teachers are also very loving and caring. Ms. Mary was my son's favorite! Moreover the owner Mr. Raj is very helpful and accommodating. Once we forgot to hand over their lunch bags and he ordered some food for them without even a second thought and did not even charge us for it. The school field trips are a great learning and exposure opportunities for kids, sure we paid a little extra for them but they were worth it. My kids still remember their apple orchard field trip from Fall 2018. I realize how nice they were when their current daycare here in bay area does not offer them. They also took kids on a walk almost daily (weather permitting) which was good as kids get to have fresh air rather than being in the same room whole day. Kids also played outside on warmer days' evenings. Additionally they offered swim lessons in summer if you are interested. Overall it was an all-round development for my twins and I wish we could be there for the rest of the time till they start kindergarten.

With Greg, I learned the mechanics of songs and chords from the inside out and now I am writing my own music! His techniques, coupled with his intriguing stories and endless patience have made the learning process fun and enjoyable. Right from the beginning we jumped into theory and started mastering the building blocks that would later be applied to all types of music across all genres. Now when my friends ask me to play something on the piano, I can confidently choose from a wide repertoire of songs I know, or even play the songs I wrote. Among my many concerns, my daughter got locked in a lower level bathroom and no one could hear her asking for help to get out (she eventually crawled under the stall and got herself out). I reached out to Josh Grekin, their director, immediately and withdrew registration for the remaining two weeks. I listed multiple reasons why his staff was negligent. He apologized and said he was glad to know this to train his staff better for next time. I am completely unsatisfied with this response. I have asked for a refund multiple times and I haven't heard anything back. I am a very unsatisfied customer and this lack of response has been infuriating. At least tell me that you have a no refund policy or something? I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to voice my complaints there and hopefully get my $400 back.

However, it is only because, I have had the benefit of experiencing other MT teachers that I knew how great they could be and what was lacking in the class you provided. You as the teacher might feel that 12 children (plus all the parents) in a room is not over-crowded and uncomfortable. I as the customer disagree. I know several other Moms also felt the same way, as we complained about it together. It may be that the class was within MT guidelines, yet that doesn't change the fact that I and several other Moms felt that the class was overcrowded to the point were it was uncomfortable to be there. The other two locations and the other 7 MT sessions that I have taken with other teachers in Ann Arbor, have limited their class sizes to 6-8 families in approximately, the same classroom space. It may be that the MT guidelines, only recommend using props two times in a class session however, I know from experience that the children are more engaged and have more fun in a class that has more variety and more props used. Every single class I attended, in which you were the teacher, I witnessed children trying to leave the room repeatedly and walking aimlessly around the perimeter of the classroom getting into things and just not engaged in the class and bored. I have not witnessed this lack of child participation in the other classes that I attended with other teachers. Regarding your song list, you are being disingenuous when you list that those are the songs that you played and then also include "world music". You and I both know that the songs you chose were written for adult entertainment and NOT for children. Regardless, or not if we disagree that they are appropriate songs or not...my original complaint still stands in that, I paid almost $200 to take a MT class so that we could listen to MT songs during the class. I have my own radio at home and could easily get together a group of children and play songs off of it for them for FREE. I appreciate your response regarding how much time/energy you put into your classes. I'm sure they do take a lot of work to put together. Again, if it were not for my experiences taking classes with other teachers; I might have walked away from your classes with a more positive impression. I do however, find it troubling that in your comment you state that you have been teaching in Ann Arbor for over 6 yrs. Yet, I am the first Yelp reviewer and only upon my leaving this Yelp review, do 5-star Yelp reviews suddenly pop up on here (just check the dates....all those positive reviews are after my initial review). Over 700 families have taken your classes in Ann Arbor, and yet not a single person came on here and left you good feedback...that in itself should have been a signal to you that something was wrong. I'm concerned that you contacted your friends and goaded them into opening a Yelp account so they could leave you 5-star reviews. That is so insincere. I left honest feedback. My 2 1/2 year old twins love Robin and have a blast singing and dancing along to the songs. I know the music together is taught elsewhere, but Robin is by far the best. While she takes music seriously and helps you to become the best musician you can be, she never loses sight of what's really important: music should bring joy to your life! While her standards and expectations (for both herself and her students) are very high, she understood me well enough to know when to push and when to back off just a bit. Lessons with Mary taught me much more than just how to read music and play the piano. She taught me how to break down big challenges into manageable pieces, how to set a goal and reach it (auditions, auditions, auditions), how to manage performance nerves, how to recover from a poor performance ("learn from it and let it go"), and how to deal with the ups and downs of life (remember, we were together for 10 years). She was my biggest critic (although always constructively) and my biggest cheerleader. I had always been under the impression that it is imperative to get every single note right, so I would often get frustrated when I missed notes. I finally broke down during one of my lessons and started crying. When I told Mary why I was upset, I feared that she would be disappointed in me, but then she gave me a completely new perspective on playing the piano-- the idea that it's not all about the notes but rather more about the musicality. Mary explained that what's more important is creating the mood of the music; a pianist's interpretation of the piece is what truly excites the audience. She began guiding me through various movement exercises in order to allow me to be more expressive, and I appreciated how patient and encouraging she was during the process. Over time, as I embraced the idea of musicality more, I realized I had never had so much fun playing the piano. In fact, being more expressive actually made it easier for me to get the notes right as well, since there was less tension in my body. On the whole, I became a better musician. But more importantly, I changed my outlook on life in general. During that same pivotal piano lesson, Mary told me that just as it's okay if a few notes are wrong here and there, it's okay if not everything is perfect in life--it's about making the most of whatever comes your way and focusing on the big picture. And just as I began to feel less stressed about playing the piano, I began to feel less stressed in general. I started learning to keep a positive attitude in everything I do, knowing that I will be successful in the long term as long as I try my hardest.
