Awesome liquor store! We were on vacation in Denver and someone recommended DaveCo to us to stock up for home. They have a huge selection of pretty much everything, and not horrible prices from what I remember. I'm from Oklahoma where we have really funky alcohol laws, so we don't get a lot of good beer down here. Looked at their web site and saw they had a wine I wanted to buy. Since I had trouble with the accuracy a year ago, I decided to call them to make sure they had it. Was told they had 6 cases. Ordered a case on line to pick up the next morning. Arrived to find several customer service people willing to assist. Unfortunately they could not find anything but 8 bottles. Also while they were looking for the wine I found a tag on a shelf that said they had a good single barrel bourbon I wanted. I ask them if they had any. They said yes, we have 5 cases. Over the next 15 min. at least 4 or 5 associates looked for it. Twice two different associates brought up a different product and said here it is. I finally give up and took my 8 bottles and left. I even wrote the store an email and they did not even take the time to send back "we are sorry". Since I drove out of my way ( second time) to go to this store and had what I thought was terrible service, I will not make that mistake again. read more

I experienced quite the contrary when they had some Newcastle (beer) labeled with a sale price sticker on the cooler shelf and then wouldn't honor the sale price when I went to pay. The manager told me that a customer must have done the switch - even though the shelf had been re-stocked in the 15-20 minutes while the staff was looking up the pricing in the computer, looking at the shelf tag sticker price and trying to figure out what happened. The manager also walked away from me when I mentioned that he should review his security footage in order to see that customers weren't product/price-switching. Apparently the phrase of "the customer is always right" has never been uttered within the walls of this business! read more

DaveCo has great prices and a massive selection of everything from wines to liquor. I always spend more time than I want when I go in there just looking at what they have to plan my next trip there. It is a great place to buy booze. read more

Very disappointed. We normally shop at Noble wine in Brighton but we were out of the area went to daveco by Hwy 7... got our favorite wine by the case ... it was on sale for 9.99 which is the everyday price for the wine at Noble. Because it was on sale we couldn't use my military discount. I don't think we'll be coming back to daveco... will go back to Noble where they're honest. read more

Best selection of any place you will find. Prices are much better on every item that I get compared to any other place. The staff are always super friendly and willing to help which is kind of surprising since the "manager' of the place is a complete D-bag (however I have since heard that he was "let go"). I agree, the place has an o.k. selection, but whomever they have answering the phones...well, incompetent is the word that comes to mind. I called to ask a simple question of whether a New Belgium beer was in stock(LOCAL BREWERY in a state that loves microbrews). I was transferred to 3 different people, and even then it was as if I was asking about an obscure vintage frome Portugal. Just a suggestion. For a place that boasts of being "the largest liquor store in the word," they should really hire some knowledgable staff to go with that. read more

DaveCo owners have been indicted for taxes, and fraud, I was surprised to see the store still open. There was a sign stating that the store will be closed from 8/8 to 8/17, which may have something to do with this. The store and online web pages distinctly state the closing time @ 10 pm I arrived at 9:10 finding the store completely closed. Lights off. This really isn't an appropriate anywhere without a notice Its false advertising and I drove 15 miles to the biggest store I know of in the area. I don't really post to yelp but of the store was closed when it shouldn't have been that's bad. There should have been a notice somewhere even on the front door . As a customer I shouldn't have to guess when a store is going to have a unscheduled close. I hope somebody explains what happened. read more

This has the widest variety of liquor in the greater Denver Metro range and selection of liquors that i've never even heard of. I was able to locate Banana Bread beer here. What I especially like about this place unlike most typical liquor marts is that you can find any brand beer under the sun which i really enjoy about this store since I'm used to going to one or more places when wanting two choices of liquor, you won't necessarily be faced up with that problem at DaveCo's since its one of the largest liquor barns in Denver (even bigger than Applejack's!). After going to this liquor store, DaveCo's, Applejack's and Bubbles Liquor World are my three favorite. Only that distance maybe an issue to some people. read more

My husband and I have been loyal DaveCo customers, but after hearing that they have been defrauding our community and defrauding taxpayers by using fraudulent returns and other means to avoid paying sales tax, we will no longer patronize this business. We paid our sales tax when we shopped there, and instead of going where it was supposed to, it went right into the owners' pockets. I recently went to DaveCo before a large party to order a couple of kegs of beer. From the start, it appeared as if they were very disorganized (writing my order on a sticky note, saying someone would call me in a couple of days about the special-ordered keg and that never happening, etc.) I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but for 3 weeks I was promised calls back that never took place to confirm my order and was finally told (after calling them and having to wait on hold for over 30 mins on 2 different occasions) that the special order wasn't placed. Instead of trying to get that beer, I decided to go with a more common brand, only to then be told that the original request had been delivered after all. Fast forward to the day of the party...The delivery was on time and the drivers were pleasant. We received the beer we ordered, but only 1 of the 2 taps worked. After much back and forth with the managers, I was told to empty the keg that we couldn't use and that they were going to call the owner to see if they could reimburse us anything for the broken tap. A week later I received a call stating they could only give me DaveCo points (for half of the value of the keg) because the keg was empty. To make matters worse the gal had the nerve to tell me that they had "gone above and beyond" for me this whole time. Long story short, I was VERY disappointed in the overall experience and will not be shopping there anymore. In addition, I will be telling all of my friends and family to find a new liquor store. read more

I had a horrible Experience at the store. I went into buying six bottles of wine and some Tequila Rose. I searched around for the Tequila Rose and couldn't find it so I went up and asked the clerk at the cashier station and she told me aisle two. I had already been there but I went back and, of course, it wasn't there. So I moved on to the wines. I was looking for a specific wine from Australia, so I went to that aisle. They only had the white I was looking for and not the red so I picked it up and went back to searching for the Tequila Rose. Again no luck. I also wanted some Stella Rose so I went looking for that. I went up and down the isles looking for a helper bee and couldn't find one. After 10 minutes, I went upfront and asked the cashier to call someone waited another five minutes and no one showed. Terrible terrible customer service and I got half of what I wanted. For a couple bucks more I will go to a regular liquor store next time. read more

It's an "OK" selection, but nothing even remotely exotic i looked for was present, so it's hardly all encompassing. Prices i found on many specials were still higher than the typical specials at my local liquor stores. Just because you have 5 Budweiser displays doesn't mean you have a good liquor store. As others have said, the wine selection seemed a bit bigger, but to be honest I was afraid to even try them... the important thing about buying wine from some place is having the buyer know what they're buying. Anybody can buy a case of wine, I'd rather have 3 kinds of good wine than 100 mediocre ones. It seems like a place for good wine deals, but not good wines. read more

Daveco is the best thing that has happened to Thornton in a long time! We used to go to Applejack, which yes, seems to have a lot more variety and selection, as well as extremely knowledgeable staff, but since Daveco has moved in we see no need to travel all the way down to Lakewood anymore. The prices are great, actually comparable to Applejack when they have a sale, and the best thing about Daveco if you are a wine drinker is that they are very good about posting ratings of the top wines. This helps people like me that wander aimlessly until they see something Wine Spectator loved, and chances are, it is a keeper. They have wine tastings on the weekends which are fun, very non-chalant and you only taste 3 or 4, but it is free and it is a good way to try before you buy. If you don't stick to the labeled aisles, this store can get a little confusing on the reasoning things get placed where, but who would mind wandering a few more minutes in this store? Check it out if you haven't already. read more

Have been going here for years, but no more! I bought a bottle of liqueur that I have purchased before, but this bottle was VILE! I took the opened bottle back to the store and talked to a sales person at the register who summoned a "manager." She said that she needed to talk to the "buyer" to see if I could get a refund/exchange. What? So a young man came over, opened the bottle, and said that, "This was the was it was supposed to taste." Great prices, horrible customer service. They are friendly at the check-out but if you ask about a wine that is rarely stocked they will take down your name and number and never call you back. Happened three times. Only buy what they have in stock and ask no questions because the rest is a joke! read more
