I bought a car from Davenport Motor Company and within 1 week, the fuel line came away and the car broke down. They towed the car away and fixed it (after telling me I should really be paying for this). A couple of weeks later, the starter motor died. I was also told from the MOT that the parking brake was the only problem, and was told this had been fixed. They lied about this as it has not been fixed, and they keep ignoring my emails, or just repeat some scripted emails about being roadworthy even near the brake limit (which is not my point as they told me the the parking brake had been fixed, but it hasn't and it clunks - and has rolled downhill twice, luckily only short distances and hasn't hurt anyone). Overall, I would not buy another car from this company at all, and would avoid them at all costs. read more

Awful dealership, avoid unless you want to be threatened. What did I do wrong? I happened to know more about the car than they did and they didn't like me trying to negotiate on the price. The car was a dog, in need of some serious TLC, but priced as if it was in A1 condition. Then to top it off I was blocked in when I went to leave (I rang the wife to tell her I'm on my way back, the obviously thought I was doing something else). Bunch of cowboys who threaten and intimidate Unless you like being treated like this, I'd avoid them. Plenty of other garages around who won't treat you like this. There's a Video on Youtube, I suggest you watch it. How they are still in business in beyond me. Oh, and when I spoke to Trading Standards, they did confirm they were known to them make of that what you will. read more

This is a difficult one I approached the car lot, and there were three or four (presumably) employees sitting in the office, they looked very unprofessional then one guy came out, biggish guy with a tattoo on his forearm and to be fair he was quite pleasant to talk to. Seemed honest enough, other than trying ot sell me a car which I later noted was described on their website as being in excellent condition and it really wasn't. They seemed to have some decent cars, and the particular vehicle I was looking at again seemed to have a genuine history and reason for sale. The problem was, my first impression of the place was poor. They looked fairly intimidating sitting about and the place is in the middle of nowhere on the outskirts of Blyth. Some people have mentioned they felt threatened and I can understand why they don't seem particularly eager of professional, and having read a few reviews after visiting them I don't think I'll be going back. I won't sate anything other than the facts, the guy I dealt with was decent enough and helpful, but first impressions last. They did look fairly rough and I don't think I could buy a car and have ay confidence I could go back to them if I had a problem. I wouldn't go there unless you're local and know the place. read more

Please read this! What a bunch of conmen, I brought a car from these guys thinking it was a 2007 with 78,000 miles. I then found out (after I paid my deposit) that the car was actually a 2005 with 101,000 miles on the clock. I was also told it had a full main dealer service history, this car had been serviced for 17,000 miles. I was completely stupid and went ahead with the deal, and 4 days later the car broke down. I spoke to the garage and they said they would take a look at the car if i could drive it almost 300 miles back to their garage. I paid the recover myself and took the car to the nearest garage where it was fixed. Then 1 week later I suffered my 2nd breakdown, this one was a lot more expensive, again I was without a car for almost a week. I paid for the cost of repairs and was back on the road (not for long) I then started to experience multiple electrical issues and it wasn't long before the car broke down again. This time it has been off the road for 5 weeks, the costa are far too expensive for me to put right. I have spent almost £1500 so far and the new bill is going to be around £3000 to £4000. I have also been without a car for 6 weeks in total, I have had the car for 4 months now and I have had numerous checks telling me this car is a bag of nails. I cannot believe I got involved with this bunch of cowboys, as I am now pursuing this with the financial ombudsman. Davenport motors informed me they have a special deal with trading standards, meaning they do not have to provide any warranty on the car at all ha ha. Do not buy anything from these guys at all, I was sucked in from day one, they made me feel that they was taking good care of me.. read more

I flew in from spain about 18 months ago, got picked up from Newcastle airport by one of the sales guys. Bought a LHD Range Rover, drove back to Costa Blanca Spain. Very happy with the exceptional service provided both before during and after the purchase. Needed a wheel bearing in November contacted the garage as parts are expensive is Spain, they posted out the part next day, now thats what I call a good servvice! My friend is looking for a cabriolet and I would be more than happy (and have done) to recommend to him and anyone else. Being self employed I know only too well that its hard to keep all the people happy all of the time. Mr Fraser, Rojales, Spain. read more

I purchased a Vauxhall Corsa for my Son from davenport motor company in June this year. I have had many bad experiences with garages in the past and i was very careful purchasing a used car.I had been reccomended these guys from a friend in the local authority. The salesman was really helpful and also organised us some finance very easily. The car was a good £800 cheaper then all other garage we went to . The Car was collected by surprise by a very happy Son . Top marks davenport we will be back to buy our other son a car when he passes his test Shaun Gabaldi read more

Absolute horrific garage to deal with. Nothing but blatant liars and to be honest I don't know how they manage to carry on trading! I have gone to trading standards but not holding my breath, hopefully if enough people do the same they can get them closed down!!! We dealt with del. And he lived right up to his name complete cowboys! In reality NO STARS!! read more
