I used Dave's First Class Towing as they were assigned to me through the Roadside Assistance service from my car's manufacturer. My car died about 6 houses down from my own place at 8:30pm on a Friday night. I was initially told that the tow would take an hour, but Dave's showed up in about 25-30 minutes! The driver was very courteous and asked me what happened. He checked under the hood, inspecting the engine, checking the oil, etc just to see if we could figure out what was going on. After many attempts at jumping my car to get it moved into a better place to put on the flatbed, he ended up having to pull/push my car into the road and was very careful throughout the process. He also let me know that the undercarriage in the front was scraped up some (which I knew) so that I wouldn't think that the towing did that. He doubled checked what dealership it was being taken to, made sure I didn't need a ride, and got my car on the flatbed and out of the road quickly. Considering a different tow company I used through my Roadside Assistance took 3 hours in the fall to just come get my keys, not even pick up my car, I was very happy with the service that Dave's provided and would recommend them in an instant. read more

Dave was a very fair and knowledgeable tow truck driver on European cars. He is the first tow truck driver to actually use my tow pin in the front of the vehicle. When i called originally, Dave told me aprx. 15 minutes and arrived right on time!! Which was fantastic seeing it was pouring down rain. Can't say the same about other tow truck driver companies. Dave even parked my car in the garage (single car) for me on the first try off the flatbed. I would recommend Dave every time!! Thank you again Dave for the wonderful service!! read more

Let's start at the beginning shall we? I have Nationwide Roadside Assistance as part of my auto policy. I was traveling home from Schenectady, NY to Columbus, OH. When entering the Buffalo area I needed gas and my two daughters wanted food. So we stop at a place called Jim's Restaurant. This started a 2 hour long fiasco of my battery not wanting to start my car. That is ok! I have roadside assistance that I confirmed (and is advertised on Nationwide's site) covers ANY vehicle that I am in, even if its not on my policy. Bare with me, this part is important. I called Nationwide to start a roadside assistance request. Spoke with a wonderful rep who walked me through the process, walked me through the app, where I was allowed to choose the vehicle I need help in, my ford fusion or Other. So even the app says I can choose a car not on my policy. With me so far? Everything is great on Nationwide's end. They tell me that I will receive a text message with the name of the service provider, phone number and an estimated time of arrival. I hang up and wait. Within moments I receive the text that Dave's First Class (thats laughable) Towing and Recovery will be there is approximately 30 minutes to jump my Honda CRV. EXCELLENT! Within minutes I get a call from Dave's asking me exactly where I am located. I tell him and he says "I'm right down the road, be there in less than 30". Fantastic because at this point my daughters are getting antsy and scared as darkness is starting to descend. Dave shows up and calls because he can't seem to find my red ford fusion. Well of course not, I'm not in a red ford fusion but I am in a Honda CRV as Nationwide knows and has confirmed repeatedly and as it says in my text message. He asks me to climb up in the truck so he can sort it out with them. He calls a number and is connected to a gentleman named Pat. He starts explaining, loudly, that I am not in my fusion as his PO reads and it needs to get fixed. Pat asks him to hold and this "man" starts YELLING at him "Like a have a fucking choice let's move this along". I went from annoyed to scared immediately. This man is three times my size, I am stranded in an unknown town with two young girls. He turns and looks at me and says "It's not going to be covered, your not in your car". I responded that it doesn't matter I am covered and I told Nationwide I was not in my car. He said "Its not going to be covered". Pat gets back on the phone to ask some question I could not understand as he was not on speakerphone, and he starts screaming at him again. I don't mean speaking loudly but full out SCREAMING at this poor phone agent "LETS MOVE THIS ALONG DAMN IT". Pat puts him back on hold and at this point I just want out of the truck. I look at him and say "so what are YOU trying to charge me to get this done". He smiles and says "I'll charge you the $50 they would have paid me". So, stranded scared and tired I quietly agree and he hangs up the phone. I just needed to get my kids out of there. He walks over with a portable battery, my hood was open so all he had to do was connect the cables, I start the car and it starts right up. Out comes his hand for the $50. I get in my car and flee. Nationwide calls me to make certain he jumped the vehicle. I advised Pat (who was the lucky person to call me back) what happened and he was flabbergasted. What a piss poor company and HORRIBLE service person. I am filing my complaint all the way up the Nationwide chain and I hope to hell they never EVER use you as a third party service provider again, you clearly do not know their policies, argue with the customer, scream at people on the phone and take advantage of people that you can. Called for a winch to get unstuck in my driveway and said they'd be by in 45 minutes. They called me a half hour later and said "they drove by and didn't see me"--I was snowblowing the driveway the entire time and no tow trucks passed by or slowed down. They then hung up on me. It's 2015 and they have a GPS, it's not like they can't find the addresses they're called out to. Avoid them. read more

Dave was great. He showed up on time and we told him what was wrong. He looked at the vehicle and was able to fix the issue so we could drive the car home and not have to take it to a dealer to get fixed. I would recommend Dave's First Class Towing to anyone. read more
