This spot has a really nice interior and is in a super convenient location. The food was honestly amazing. The chicken was some of the best I have ever had. Just a heads up though, if you order "mild" it is still definitely spicy, but in a good way. That said, the service was a big downside. When I went with friends, the place was not even busy, but it still took about 20 minutes for our food to come out (yes I counted because we were in a rush). We only ordered two tenders with no drink. For something that feels like fast food, that is pretty unreasonable. I also went specifically to try the mozzarella sticks, but we were told they had not even started making them and it would take another 40 minutes, which is kind of wild. Even when our food was ready, things moved really slowly. The cashier took SEVERAL minutes just labeling and staring at each box, even though we all ordered the same thing, and then another minute just to put everything into a paper bag. Maybe it was his first day? Another frustrating part was that the washrooms were locked, so we could not even use them while we were there, which was a mild inconvenience, but I think bathroom access in a spicy chicken shop is a bit crucial. On top of that, it is pretty expensive for what you get. Overall, the food is the only thing really saving this place. For some reason, I was seriously craving a hot, spicy chicken sandwich, and I figured I was going to be walking right by this location, so it was a total no-brainer. I went with just the single Slider ("served on a potato bun with kale slaw, pickles and drizzled with Dave's sauce") and I got that Extra Hot. There is a dipping sauce (Dave's sauce) that is slightly sweet. Fries were probably the best part of the meal! We ordered Dave's #1 and #2 to sample both the tenders and the sliders. It was a little pricy considering that at $15.99 and $18.99, we still do not have a drink included. The food was good, though. I like that there is a dip or sauce and also some pickle slices. I personally find that I do not like how the order of the tenders looks. It is just a slab of chicken meat lying on a piece of bread. Service at the food place was excellent. The lady over the counter was very courteous in helping and explaining the menu items. She was also sensitive enough to notice after some time that there were people waiting to use the washrooms. It was locked, and a key was needed to gain access inside. The food place inside was busy during the Saturday evening we were there. We had to wait a while for our number to be called after ordering. The good thing is that the customer turnover was very fast. Even if the place was packed, we still found a place to sit. The Tenders are served with white wonder bread, pickles, and fries. The fries are crinkle-cut and are crunchy. The Sliders are served with a brioche bun, kale slaw, and pickles. Surprisingly they also serve beer ($5.99-$7.99)! Currently they are still waiting for their liquor license. When choosing your meal, you can choose between 7 spice levels: no spice, lite mild, mild, medium, hot, extra hot, and reaper; reaper is for the most daring! I spoke to one customer who always orders the spiciest level with any food. He said the reaper was the spiciest he had ever had, and he couldn't feel his tongue afterward. The service was good. The ordering process is easy. I ordered the combo Dave's #3 ($17.99), lite mild, which included 1 Tender, 1 Slider, Fries, Kale Slaw, Pickles, and Dave's sauce. I also ordered a Soft Drink ($1.99). There are free refills with the soft drinks, which you'll definitely need if your chicken is too spicy! The chicken was tender. There was a nice coating of spices. The Slider had dark meat and the Tender had white meat. I found that Lite Mild was already spicy enough for me! The kale slaw was a mixture of kale, cabbage, and lettuce. There is a mayo-based dipping sauce that you can use with the chicken and fries; it was delicious. As with other locations in USA and UAE, each restaurant is colourfully spray-painted inside and outside. Most locations have light wood tables and red metal chairs; however, this location uses red metal stools. There is plenty of indoor seating but no outdoor seating. There is loud 1950s-1960s pop music playing in the background. This chain started in 2017 with four childhood friends. Be aware that their Instagram account is run from the USA; they didn't respond to me even after 3 days! I met the Director of Canadian Operations, and he told me to email him about that. There is a loyalty program with their app. You earn points for every dollar you spend. When you download the app, you get a free shake. Unfortunately, the app is not available in Canada. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are 2 gender-neutral washrooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible. Dave Hot's Chicken is an absolute delicious fast food chain. Food ( 8/10 ) - The chicken tenders are super big and filling despite not looking it. It's smothered in this super flavorful spice rub. The tenders are juicy and crispy as well. It also has a really nice heat to it, Make sure you find your proper spice level because it can make the difference between a pleasant and painful experience. The fries were also super crispy. Sauce had a nice, tangy flavor which made it a great pairing with both the fries and chicken. Service ( 9/10 ) - Server was super nice and friendly. Helped me figure out what to order, ensured my allergies instead of just guessing. Only thing to note, she said "hot has a little kick to it." We got fries and 2 sliders for 22 bucks. The service was slow but it was also packed inside the place so maybe that's why.
