We were going to have 7 people, and online the website says if you have groups of 7 or more people please call the studio to confirm they can accommodate the size of the group. We were told that as long as no more than 6 people were in the photo studio at one time, that we could have our 7 guests. Our session was scheduled for 11:20AM today 12/6. At 9:52AM less than 2 hours until our scheduled time, Meghan Mull decided she would not proceed with our appointment. We literally had family members in-route from out of town, when it was cancelled on us. My main frustration with this whole situation is if she wasn't going to take our photos, why not a) tell us when we booked that they would not be able to accommodate our large group due to COVID, or b) not wait until the last possible moment to cancel? That would have allowed us appropriate time to line up a photography session with a local photographer who would want our business. Meghan's excuse was that CDC guidelines prohibit her from taking our pictures. Last I checked the CDC Guidelines didn't change overnight? We asked her if there was any way we could rotate people in and out, as was previously discussed so that no more than 6 people would be in the photo booth at the same time and she refused. The only way she indicated she would take our picture is if we were in the same household. She went on to say that the CDC is strictly enforcing the household clause. To be clear, the CDC does not create or enforce laws. She explicitly stated that the CDC enforces this policy. After I told her I was extremely disappointed that this was happening and this was a huge mess, she told me she did not like my tone... When I asked to speak to the manager, she told me she was the manager, and there is no one above her to take this issue to... Ironically, on your website "To cancel or reschedule a session, 24 hour notice is required... wouldn't that be nice if you gave the same 24 hour notice to your clients before cancelling on them... That's not the end of it, however... After we received the cancellation email, I went on Facebook to leave a review of Picture People... I will be leaving a review, do not worry, when I happen to stumble on Ms. Meghan Mulls personal facebook page where she is openly blasting her clients all over the internet. Not sure if this is in reference to me, or another client but it is appalling nonetheless and will be going out on my reviews to yelp, google, facebook, etc. I would like to state that I am not an "anti-masker" or some "COVID conspiracy theorist", quite the contrary. My wife and I are very aware of the virus going around, we wear masks, socially distance, and generally stay away from going to many places, especially with our son. The goal today was to safely get our son's first birthday pictures with our families, and we were under the impression that Picture Place would be a great place to do that. I had an absolutely phenomenal experience getting my head shots taken by Alaina. In the process of re-designing my small businesses web site, my web designer quickly made me realize that I needed much higher quality images of myself for everything from my web site, to my business facebook page, to linked in etc. I have almost no style, and a terrible sense of design. Alaina helped me every step of the way from what to wear, to how to treat my body for the few days leading up to the photo shoot (sleep, water intake etc). I brought 4 different outfits, and we photographed three of them to see what was working. We tried different lighting, styles, outfits, looks etc. Her office is very high tech - after each shoot we would go and look at the photos in HD on a large TV to see what we liked and what we didn't.
