I had dental trauma as a teen when molars were pulled with poor numbing and difficulty with extraction (roots around bone ;( ) I will never forget that, and have feared another extraction or major dental work my entire life. Still, I was a hot mess waiting for RC day to arrive (root canal day) I brought my blankie to the procedure, along with ear buds and acoustic guitar music. I was consciously sedated with 2 pills, and off to dreamland I went! It was 100% painless, I slept the entire procedure, and today, 24 hours after, I have less tenderness than after some cleanings! WOW Dr. Vargo! You surpassed my expectations! I will never, ever fear having major teeth procedures again - not if you're my endodontist! Thank you so much for the positive experience! One of her cavities turned into and abscessed tooth and got infected. Tried calling and getting a soon appt cause my daughter was in pain. They said they couldn't get her til the end of the month. I sat in the chair for roughly 3 hours, and although it was an inherently long appointment it was the most pleasant experience I have EVER had in a dental office. (including simple cleanings) Dr.McGinnis explained every procedure to me in a way I could comprehend, and always made sure I was doing okay and had no sensitivities or discomfort. After the crowns were placed I had questions about the sensitivity of my front teeth, and they are much to short. I knew this would cause my teeth not to show. The teeth that were placed were the wrong size for my mouth, so I had to call for an appt. for consultation about this sensitivity also about the crowns being too short because there was no appt. set up by the dentist. I was faced with a dentist that was angry, aggressive and so loud the whole office heard him yelling at me, in fact my daughter that had come with me heard the loud yelling of the dentist& told the front desk she was going back to check on her Mom (me) The other dentist in the office I was told cause my back was to the hall paced back and forth because of the loud yelling coming from him to me. The next day I received a certified letter stating that there was lack of communication and he had no interest in continuing dental treatment because I had not been satisfied with the work that had been done. We have very good dental insurance. Found out today from insurance company that they are going to want an ADDITIONAL $516.80 out of pocket from me. That sounds outrageous. If I didn't have dental insurance that would different but my insurance company is paying out almost an additional $1000. Not only that they gave me an additional TWO appointments (and no I am not going) So much for the one or two visits. I can't believe I drove an hour each way for this.
