From check in to check out all the ladies at the front desk are efficient and thorough. They offer a patient portal for the tech savvy where you can request appointments, request prescription refills or leave a message for the Doctor. If you prefer the old fashion call in to make an appointment, the front desk makes it easy and painless. I love that they still call the day before for appointment reminders and if you need to cancel, you can do so at the touch of a button. They accept most Insurances and major credit cards. If you ever have questions, most can be answered with a simple phone call or by logging into the patient portal. She asked all the right questions to help identify your issue and if she felt it could be more serious she always did those tests to be sure it wasn't. Most doctors do not do this. She recommended a few specialists for me and they were all great as well. Even in those cases she would treat how she could and then the nurse would call and get me in right away at the other doctor. He's the best, most sensitive, and the most proactive doc I've had, and I've had a few. He doesn't go for the latest most pricey, trendy meds, either. I'm served with the tried and true. And served well. Forget the comments of Joyce and Jade. There's some reason why Dr. Toby has a client load of 2-3 times the size of other primary care physicians in Athens. We've referred three friends to him who are equally satisfied.

Due to a complex family history involving Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, I asked to see another provider in the clinic after a brief hospital visit and to my follow up with her to ensure my symptoms were fully evaluated and diagnostic testing was initiated. After a few days and receiving no response to my portal inquiries regarding my care, I followed up with the office, where I was met with disrespect from staff simply for seeking basic answers. Two days later, and midway through active diagnostic testing, I was abruptly terminated as a patient without prior notice, no portal message, no phone call, no nothing until I received their generic dismissal/firing letter with no cause, or explanation, and my portal access was immediately locked. I have retained all documentation and screenshots of these communications. A patient should never be disrespected or discharged mid-testing simply for advocating for their health. Before anyone tries to say I'm just a disgruntled ex employee I promise I am writing this as a former patient, not a former employee.
