With my own specialized legal background, I hate turning to attorneys for help. But, being from another state, and needing information specific to Ohio laws - as well as actual, real-life experience in the local application of those laws, I needed a local attorney. I found Mr. Jack through another site, where he was highly recommended by other clients. Mr, Jack was prompt in his reply to my email, and completely understood my situation. Mr. Jack is unquestionably the worst lawyer I've ever dealt with. (But, he's a nice guy.) I have many examples that justify the low rating. We often had to tell him things several times before they got done. The worst example is that he would have not collected over $30,000 owed to the estate if we had not double checked his work. And that was for items that we told him about repeatedly. We hired him to be the executor of my brother's estate, based on the recommendation of the funeral director. My other brothers and I live 500-1000 miles away, with no other relatives in Ohio. I could tell early on that he was not getting things done, so I asked for documentation on his progress with the estate. He never provided it. We were very surprised when he sent the final statement and some funds had not been collected, and he paid another bill without clearing it with us. (Which was not a valid bill for the estate and we spent a few more months recovering that money.) Since there were three surviving brothers living so far away, email worked best to notify everyone during the process, rather than three phone calls each time. But, not for Mr. Jack. In his own words, "I don't type very well." When he did use e-mail, we always got an ad along with it (gut health, weight loss pills, penny stocks, etc.) because he uses Juno for his e-mail!
