Not only were the prices very reasonable, but her photos were simply gorgeous. We ended up getting the "Belly to Baby" package which was two photography sessions one a short 45 minute Maternity session, and the second a 3 hourish newborn photography session. The maternity session blew our minds away, we were so pleased with how laid back she was, how professional she seemed, and most importantly how organized, and timely she was. She asked us if there was anythign we wanted and we mentioned our tattoos, and she delivered with what is one of my favourite photos of me and my wife. We were super pleased with the maternity session, and everyone in our family and freidns on facebook loved the photos. We thought it couldn't get better than this. WE WERE WRONG!! Chelsea has a plague on the wall of her studio that says "Baby Whisperer" this is not an exagerration. She handled our 1 week old newborn so well that we immediately trusted her with our baby so much that my wife and I both fell asleep due to the comfortable environment, and the absolute trust we had in Chelsea. Then the Photos came.... They were simply stunning! She focused on the baby like she should, but still managed to get a couple of pictures with my wife and I with the baby. They were everything and more that we wanted. For the price that we paid I doubt we could find someone with more bang for the buck. So, at my friend's insistence (and promise of brunch at the Pearl), I decided to join her for a morning photo shoot. I was nervous but, seeing my friend's pictures on Facebook helped me overcome any reservations about Angelica and Keith at Authentic Joy. We took photos very early in the morning around the Pearl and inside Hotel Emma. The early morning light coupled with Angelica's skills made us all look like models! Angelica and Keith worked with us to help us be as natural as possible. After shooting for awhile, I became way more comfortable, mostly in part because of Keith and and Angelica. Angelica has such a warm and engaging personality. She made us feel at ease with her silliness. She and Keith took into consideration our vision and thoughts, while giving us inspiration on what to do next. I don't know about you guys but I just want to stand around. Posing is hard! But Angelica managed to make me a convincing guest at the swanky Hotel Emma in our photos. After a few days, Angelica already edited and posted the pictures for us to preview. We corresponded over email and her response time is about a day or less. She has about 3 different packages and about 9 locations she likes to shoot at. We chose Kualoa regional park because it had a few different backgrounds (beach, mountains, outriggers, and dock). On the day of the session she met us at the park and we walked to the locations. She was very easy to work with and she was pretty in tune with the needs of our 1 and 2 year olds. When the girls got fussy or didn't feel like cooperating she would shoot couples pictures of us. Her prices are very reasonable and the pictures came out amazing. We will definitely use her services again if we're back on Oahu.
