My OBGyn wanted me to get the copper IUD, but my insurance had previously not paid for it. They…read moresaid they would keep checking and eventually told me they had contacted my insurance and that it was covered. I go have it done last November and all was fine. But now, I'm getting a $3k bill because it wasn't covered. I talked to their office several times and was told it wasn't their fault and was hung up on. I called my insurance who said the office had never called them, they had no record of the office contacting them, and that my insurance has never covered the IUD. So now I am unable to go in to see my OBGyn because I have a hold on my account for a bill that I was assured several times would be $0, so if my IUD ends up perforating my uterus or causing other problems, I am unable to get the care I need. I have to go to another OBGyn now, which are all booked up until the end of the year, because of this. I am very unhappy with this and have received no help on any of this from the office. Super annoying, since I was assured over and over again that my insurance would cover this at no charge.

However I had an appointment today and for the first time ever I felt like a doctor really listened and took every word into consideration. She walked in, pulled a chair up in front of me, closed her hands together in her lap, and completely tuned in. It made me feel calm and as though she truly wanted to listen and see how she could help. She was so nice and explained a lot to me and I think we're on the road to answers which is great! I think her name was Carrie? Receptionist wasn't very happy. She kind of acted like she hated everything. But maybe she just had a bad day... I'm not sure. She didn't seem like a mean person because she did crack a chuckle, but then she went right back to her mad face. I'm going to just tell myself she just had a bad day. Lol

I encountered Dr. Vallabhaneni during my recent hospitalization at St. Francis Hospital, part of…read morethe Franciscan Health System. Dr. Vallabhaneni, who often goes by the abbreviated "Dr. V," was part of my inpatient team of doctors treating a variety of concerns and served as my internal medicine doctor during the majority of my stay until it changed in the last 3-4 days - I believe she was headed on vacation and, as such, my last few days were actually under a different physician. Dr. V is part of the practice of Indiana Internal Medicine Consultants, a Greenwood-based practice that seems to primarily work through Franciscan. I have not dealt with them in terms of outpatient and my entire experience with Dr. V was during my inpatient stay. You could tell that Dr. V has the respect of the staff of the unit where I was treated, which was 4 South in the Cardiac Center. Staff members were quick to compliment both her knowledge and bedside manner. They correctly predicted that I would appreciate her as I am big on customer service and communication, both areas in which Dr. V would prove to excel. Dr. V visited my unit daily - most often in the mid-to-late morning hours. She was serious, yet always smiled and I was constantly impressed with her willingness to take the time to explain concerns, test results, diagnostic concerns, and any new or unresolved issues. She didn't just tell you things, but she ensured that you actually understood what she was telling you and what it meant for you and your care. She was, by far, the most communicative of the physicians who worked on my case and she had a way of communicating that made me feel like she was listening to me and that I was in good hands with her. I also appreciated that she had a very even-keeled demeanor. She would talk about serious issues, but she didn't do so in a way that panicked you. You took her seriously, but she made you feel safe in her care. I was also impressed that she was aware of my financial concerns. While I'm insured, as a person with a disability I have in the past experienced severe financial distress because of my health and she understood this and made sure to always let me know that the team was making sure that anything ordered was actually approved by insurance. I didn't have to ask her about these concerns - she understood they were there and addressed them upfront. Again, she worked very naturally to keep me calm and engaged in my recovery from a serious illness. I was disappointed when Dr. V left my case as it felt like the quality of my internal medicine care did drop and I didn't get the quality level of communication from the replacement physician. Dr. V is simply an absolute gem - she's incredibly knowledgeable and knows how to communicate that knowledge in a way that is simple, user-friendly, and accessible. She's compassionate, personable, and very interactive. She takes the time needed to listen, understand concerns, and explain her own concerns. While I don't live near Greenwood, she's definitely a doctor I would return to again and I really appreciated her compassionate, knowledgeable care as I dealt with serious health issues. She provided quality care in a way that made me feel safer and less anxious about the entire ordeal.

I would be a new patient so I figured it would be a few weeks before I could get in to see her. I was able to make the appointment online for the next day. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. I have been through multiple issues and procedures with Dr. Davidson and find her to be…read moreprofessional, empathetic and extremely patient forward. This is an independent practice where the medical staff is focused on you, the patient, rather than bureaucracy. I've had several in office procedures which Dr. Davidson might have done in another facility but kindly opted to perform in office to be conscious of my budget and health care coverage at the time. These procedures have always gone very well, I felt well supported during my aftercare and all issues were thoroughly explained throughout my care. Dr. Davidson and her staff take impressively extensive notes at each visit and clearly review them before you return so that they are able to ask relevant questions about your life, family, career, etc. I've read other reviews regarding the front desk staff being curt - this has never been an issue for me. I hopefully say that I see my own attitude reflected in the service I receive from Ms M but whether or not this is the case, I have always received kind, empathetic and good humored care throughout this office. It's patient care worth waiting for, without question.

One thing that I really appreciated was that she did an ultrasound prior to placement to make sure the sizing is right as a nulliparous female (not many offices do that!) Yearlies are a breeze- their office always makes notes of not only medical concerns but also just your social life in general so that when you visit in 12 months they can actually remember details about you! I love Dr.Davidson's bedside manner, though it is rather quirky/loud/friendly she makes it very easy to feel comfortable. Now the Cons: There is alllways a long wait at her office. I'm normally there for 2 hrs for a 20 minutes chat the her (yes she actually is in the room for 20 minutes!) Also her front receptionist ranges from outright rude to mildly irritated.
