Repeatedly, I have experienced significant delays when trying to schedule appointments or obtain necessary prescriptions. Messages left both by phone and through the Epic patient portal go unanswered for extended periods--often weeks. This is not an isolated issue; it has been a consistent pattern. Every year I brace myself by stocking up on medicine because I know it will take 2 months to get my annual prescription renewal. This means I do not take my medicine as prescribed which is not advisable or recommended. Some patients are forced to do this because of $$$, I have to do it because of substandard care. I have escalated these concerns to the office manager, yet the problem persists without meaningful improvement. While I understand that gastroenterology practices are in high demand, that does not excuse a breakdown in basic patient communication and access to care. At this point, the delays are unacceptable and have directly impacted my ability to manage my health. I cannot recommend this practice.

The intake personnel all seem tired, curt, beaten down by constant stress. No one smiles, none want to talk beyond the required information gathering. Triage into the medical side was somewhat better. The nursing assistants, Emergency department techs were more engaged. I did not see a Registered Nurse. Everyone was efficient, getting the job done with minimal fuss. The doctor saw me after a 15 minute wait. For an emergency department that is record fast time. He was cheerful, competent, helpful and was willing to have a converstion rather than dictate orders. We cooperatively agreed on a care plan. (It helped that I have a Master's degree in Public Health). My total time for the visit was 90 minutes. Got the medications I needed. 36 hours later I am starting to recover, though I still feel kind'a crappy (Pun intended).

In my previous post, I didn't talk to Dr. Inder & ask the usual questions. I finally got to review his report of my Colonoscopy. You must know what takes for a person to prepare for a colonoscopy. I wanted to know if he saw the Ischemic Colitis in the my colon did he stop at the colon. The answer is he did! He assumed that since I had a colonoscopy in 2021, why go any farther? This is probably why he refused to speak to me afterwards. When you have underlying conditions it is best to examine the entire liver, pancreas, stomach, & the small & large intestines. I prepared for this by ingesting an entire gallon of "Go Lightly". His failure to not do a complete colonoscopy will reflect on Sutter's reputation. I have a family history of Pancreatic cancer, & I have Parkinson's disease. He says I won't need another Colonoscopy for 10 years, because he examined my colon. I will need a COMPLETE colonoscopy in five years should I become ill where my liver, pancreas, small or large intestines may be involved. I'm 69 years old, for Sutter Health's sake, Dr. Singh better be correct. I specifically told him of my Grandmother's cancer & my diagnosis of Parkinson's. For a 68 year old women to prepare for COMPLETE colonoscopy & it not be performed, this quack could have simply gave me an enema for this examination!

Dr. Law was equally cordial and really listened to my complaint and the history of my issue. Other doctors hemmed and hawed about my condition but Dr. Law gave me three options to correct my situation or keep dealing with it like I had been. I trusted him and his confidence and I chose the most complete correction that also carried the most risk. I am extremely happy to say that it is several months post-op and I am totally thrilled with the outcome! My recovery was long but uneventful and I now have a completely rectified situation.
