A team of doctors was assigned to his care and leading the treatment was Dr. Joseph Walsh, the cardiologist. Once my dad was stabilized, he was moved to ICU. For the next four days, I saw Dr. Walsh visit my dad frequently. He took the time to sit with my dad and evaluate him thoroughly and monitored his progress with keen interest. He made sure my dad got the prescribed medications, diet, exercise and directed the attending nurse meticulously. All along, he discussed the diagnosis and plan with me with great patience. I truly feel that the Dr. Walsh saved my dad that day. Once my dad was discharged, Dr. Walsh proactively followed up with us and offered a comprehensive plan of action, which included placing a high-tech heart monitor, several relevant and revealing tests, and coordinated with other specialists, including GI specialist. It can be overwhelming for the patient/family to tackle so many specialists, but Dr. Walsh personally spoke with other doctors on the team and became our single point of contact. Dr. Walsh not only demonstrated his expertise in cardiology, but he did it with the warmest, most caring attitude. It felt like he was treating his own dad. My dad was comforted by his mere presence. This is profound and rare in today's medical experience. My family and I are eternally grateful to Dr. Walsh - thank you!

I will tell you this--aging is not for the faint of heart. Staying well takes intention, effort, and the right guidance. Dr. Guttas is a gift--his time, his insight, his perspective. Don't waste it. My life will never be the same after this visit, and that is a good thing. Together with my other physician, he's helping me work toward turning the clock back 15-20 years. What struck me most was how quickly he understood me. Within minutes of asking a few thoughtful questions, he had a clear read on my personality and what drives me. I kept thinking I needed to explain myself, but he was already several steps ahead. With more than 25 years of experience as a cardiologist, his ability to observe and understand a patient so quickly is remarkable. That kind of attentiveness--and a commitment to treating the whole person rather than just the chart--is rare these days. Modern medicine and pharmacology are helpful tools, but be prepared: you'll need to face some hard truths. Real change requires honesty, lifestyle adjustments, and the willingness to put in the work. Otherwise, you're wasting both his time and your own. The good news is that Dr. Guttas offers practical guidance that anyone can follow if they're willing to trade bad habits for better ones. Medications can play an important role, but they work best alongside those changes. And be sure to read his handouts. They're filled with thoughtful advice that is humble, often humorous, and clearly written from the heart. After just one visit, I feel confident placing my heart and my health in his hands.
