I know there is a lot of negative reviews and everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I have had wonderful care and my husband just had an extraction and everyone was very professional and friendly. I believe that the office person is Dr Anderson's wife and she was so helpful and considerate. Even held my husbands hand as he was very nervous and then went out to his car to get his check book, wrote the check and even moved his car up closer to the door for him. They were all very compassionate. Yes, things can get a bit snarly at times. The one working in the office does A LOT of things. Seriously, I am shocked at any negative reviews on this office. I have been there twice and have been very impressed both times. Dr Anderson is a gentleman and an excellent dentist. He knows his subject quite well and takes time to explain any and all options for your treatment. The office staff is top shelf, clean, polite, and caring. Over all, I have had 2 wonderful experiences with this facility and will be returning as a regular patient. Wow contacted them for pulling a tooth that infected. Had wait for three days get appoint-met. Showed up took x ray banged on tooth. Order antibiotic charged 130.00 for 5 minute. Because I had prescription for blood thinners I needed get my doctor approval. Dr. Anderson saw me for an emergency tooth extraction due to infection, I was impressed my his technical skill and consideration. Dr, Anderson explained my best options, prescribed antibiotics for the infection and latter removed the infected tooth. I enjoyed my interaction with these skilled professionals ; Dr. Anderson and his wife Sally, his assistant. The office is modern, aesthetically peaceful and comfortable. If it were possible to give 0 stars, I would. I broke a tooth, and was trying to find a dentist that could fix it as soon as possible. I called here, and was very happy to hear they could see me at 9:30 the next morning, as they had had a cancellation. The lady on the phone was a bit "brisk", but I didn't really care, I needed my tooth fixed. She told me the price of $125 for an exam and x-ray, and it would go up from there. She also told me twice there was a $50 fee for cancelations. I drove the hours drive, and arrived at 9:15. The lady was busy on the phone with a number of people that were calling for emergency appointments. She was still "brisk", but she was busy, and it happens. Apparently she was trying to fit them into another cancelation. A very nice, older lady, came and got me for my x-ray. She took one picture, but it was the opposite side from where the tooth was broken. Shortly the dentist came in, I was still in the chair, with my back to the door. I assume he looked at the x-ray on the screen. He asked what we had going on and I replied, "I broke a tooth." He reached around me from behind, stuck a mirror in my mouth for a few seconds. Then he told the dent tech, BBD, DDB or something, and just walked out. I never saw his face. He didn't explain what was wrong or what he was going to do. He literally just walked out. I asked her what that meant, and she said he was just going to do a filling. Which was great as far as I was concerned. I thought it was going to have to be capped. So I went back up front to the lady at the desk, and she told me it was $125, and I got out my debit card. I asked if it was possible to get it done that day, and she said yes, as they had a cancellation. Even better I thought. As she was doing something on the computer, I casually mentioned that I didn't want the shot. (my dentist as a kid, never gave the shot, and unless I was having a tooth pulled, I generally never got one. It isn't the needle, it is the 4 hours of drooling on myself)) She literally went scorched earth on me. I tried to explain and she was not hearing me. If it is that big a deal, I'll get the shot. I told her 3 times that it was fine. I will get the shot. Still not hearing me and she marched back to the dentist office, opened the door and told him I didn't want the shot. She came back and informed me that he would not work on me without the shot. I told her that I was fine with the shot and that I had told her 3 times that I was fine with the shot. She went back to his office, came back 3 seconds later and told me that he had said, "find another dentist". I had at no time refused to get the shot, merely had said that I didn't want it. I had told her numerous times that getting the shot was fine. So apparently just mentioning that you don't want novacain is enough for these 2 clowns to absolutely lose their marbles. She then held out her hand for my debit card. I stared in disbelief at her and told her I wasn't going to pay her. She said I had to. I said no, I had to "find another dentist" and then would have to pay for another x-ray. She said she would email it to them. I told her they would still want to do their own. And I left. The x-ray was of the wrong side of the broken tooth. When I agreed to pay for an "exam and x-ray" I would think it would be more x-ray than that, and I would actually get to talk to the dentist during the exam part. Also, when I agreed to pay $125, it was with the expectation of further care. Which since he was busy in his office playing x-box games or getting a winning e-bay bid, I didn't get. I want to also point out that I was the only one there. I can see why he does emergency appointments, because no one in their right mind will ever go back. And apparently a lot of emergency appointment cancellations. Which is pretty bad. read more

The Dr. is very professional , as is the hygienist. Personally received good care from both. Front office was exceedingly condescending towards my elderly father who has been a patient for several years. Unpleasant experience for that reason. A very clean and comfortable room, which appears to have top of the line tech. after my exam, Dr Anderson was very clear and concise about my options. I'm not one to write reviews, but I will for what just happened to me. I had been seen by this dentist about a year ago for emergency pain in a tooth. I was told he couldn't fix it and needed different equipment to see the crack in my tooth. Due to personal reasons, I have not followed up to have this tooth fixed, until recently when it started to bother me again. I wanted to confirm what this dentist thought needed to be done since this same tooth bothers me periodically. The receptionist told me that I would need an oral surgeon to have it extracted. So, I called numerous places only to find out no one accepted my insurance anywhere near me. I decided to finally pay out of pocket for one a few hours from me and landed an appointment. All I wanted was said tooth extracted, they just needed the referral. I called Dr. Anderson's office and asked for one, and was met with a lot of questions on the matter to which I explained to her that I could not afford a root canal out of pocket, etc.. and that I just wanted a referral sent to extract the tooth. This referral was never sent. When the oral surgeons office called them to get the referral before my appointment, the receptionist had advised them that I needed to see a different type of dentist and that they weren't sure what tooth it was? When I clearly remember discussing my cracked tooth with this dentist.... she even left me a voicemail trying to tell me I didn't know what tooth it even was? At this point I was concerned. She said she would call the oral surgeons office back after I told her again what I was told and what I wanted. I'm assuming she didn't and within an hour she had done irreparable damage to the situation. All of what she said and did led to the oral surgeons office I worked hard to find and to get into not wanting to take my referral, because they felt it wasn't valid and cancelled my appointment all together. Now I'm stuck looking for a second opinion, and with a painful tooth when I am surrounded by offices who are scheduled out 6-8 months and none take my current insurance. I can't say that I dislike the dentist himself, but the receptionist has caused a major problem for me and I don't appreciate any of it. read more

What is the fuss all about? I have read the reviews for Dr Anderson and his office and almost cancelled my appointment as result. I am an out of State resident who came down with a toothache. I called around and learned that Dr Anderson is taking emergency patients. I called the office and everything went seamless from setting an appointment (within 12 hours of making the call) to filling out the registration forms to being seen by the X-ray Technician and the Doctor himself. Mrs Anderson, the office manager, was polite, courteous and everything you would expect from someone who manages a modern dental practice. The bill was fair and in no way did I experience price gouging of any kind. From everything I have witnessed during my visit this Dr continues to keep up with new and innovative dental treatments procedures via ongoing educational study programs. Read this unsolicited review before all others. If you are looking for friend buy a pet. The Dr doesn't have time to discuss last nights Bingo winnings. I highly recommend Dr. Anderson. About 12 years ago, I finally got a cap on one of my 2 upper front teeth at a different St. Ignace Dentist. The tooth had been chipped since I was about 8 or 9 years old. That went well until the cap broke but did not completely fall out. I went to my regular dentist, who was the son of the original dentist who did the cap. They did a very temporary repair that simply "glued" it to the teeth on each side of it. That lasted a few days. I was told I would have to wait 7 weeks for it to start to be fixed. I knew there was no way I could wait that long so I started to look for a Dentist who I could see sooner. I had seen Dr. Anderson's advertisements in the St. Ignace News, so I called them. Dr. Anderson saw me the next day and the day after that, he did a temporary repair that was 100% better than what my regular dentist had done. Dr. Anderson did the work necessary to order a replacement cap. The replacement arrived sooner than expected, so I was scheduled sooner and the new permanent cap was put in just 2 weeks after my first visit. I was also able to get a Cleaning on that same visit. I now consider Dr. Anderson my regular dentist and have my next cleaning appointment already made. I don't have Dental Insurance but I found the rates reasonable. Dr. Anderson and his wife did an excellent job of explaining everything that needed to be done and how much it would cost. The whole job, including a Cleaning, was $1,585. Are Dr. Anderson and his wife, who is the Receptionist and Dental Assistant, unique personalities? Yes they are. But I'd rather have a Dentist who can see me and do excellent work than a Dentist who has so much business they can't take care of emergencies and end up having to redo every major job they originally did. Do I like the conservative news programs on their TV's, no I do not, but I do not have to have to agree with the politics of my dentist. If you need a Dentist in the Eastern Upper Peninsula or the Tip of Mitt of Northern Lower Michigan, I highly recommend Dr. Anderson and his staff. read more

I was EXTREMELY unhappy with the experience of dealing with Dr Andersons Office staff(Sally Anderson) the dentist. is also the receptionist!. I was billed for xrays, on my last visit (Dec 11.2023. Same day, I called his office, told them of their overcharge. Receptionist told me that they would credit on my next dental cleaning on June 17th, 2024. My debit card was billed, on Dec 11 2023, so the office should have taken action to return my $60 overpayment. When my next visit was scheduled( June 17 ) I went in early to remind the office staff, that I should be credited the $60 overcharge, from the las visit. Sally, the office manager, became angry, and told me that NEVER happenned (the overcharge. When I showed her the paperwork, she became MORE agitated, and told me to "leave the building. or she eould have me forcibly removed! I told her that I would not leave, as I had a teeth cleaning there in 10 minutes. Sally told me, "not anymore, , that she just cancelled it! She then told me that I didnt leave the office, that would calll the police. I told her to go ahead, and I would see what the Officers had to say about the matter!. A few minutes later, 2 squad cars showed up. I told the Deputies my side of the story, then he went in to hear Sallys side of the story, , Deputy returned in a few minutes, told me that the officer manager (sally ) conceeded that I was overcharged, and that I would be paid back in a week. AND that I was NOT allowed back into the dental office ! That i would be trespassing! Keep in mind, that this was my 3thd visit, with this dentist, and I considered him my dentist!! No more!! Stay clear of this business, I received terrible verbal abuse, and was physically threatened, of "being FORCIBLY removed from office . I am still waiting for my refund. To be honest I can't say anything about the dentist himself but what I just went through from the receptionist alone was enough to turn me away from the office. And from what I've heard it's his actual Wife, people that do business that way are people I do not recommend. Being that blatantly rude, disrespectful and being hung up on all because I questioned her on an appointment I never even made for myself yet she had all my personal information. Haven't had the unpleasant experience of actually using this dentist but the reviews on how his front office is run are horrendous. The "professional" and I use that term lightly refused emergency treatment to a 94 year old woman who had lost her taste and was in excruciating pain. The reason was that she had supposedly given him a bad review. They could not provide any details about the review just that it had been made. This dentist is new to the area and neither the woman nor her daughter had even heard of him before. All I can say is if I find myself home and need emergency dental work I'll use the string attached to a slamming door and get more professionalism and compassion. If you need an Emergency Dentist or a dentist in general, avoid this practice at all costs!!! Dr Anderson and particularly his wife/office manager are arrogant, monied snobs who haven't a clue how to communicate with human beings. Disorganized, expensive, and not open to most local insurance or Care Credit, they demand payment in full up front. Diagnosis has twice been in question with a second opinion, and unnecessary procedures avoided and successful treatment obtained elsewhere. Very rude, unprofessional at the front desk, was almost yelling at me because to misunderstood their payment procedure. Funny, I thought Care Credit WAS a credit card through Synchrony Bank. When I tried to give her the 25 dollar cancellation fee, she acted like a royal bitch, here I'm trying to pay her. This dentist needs to fire his wife, she runs around like chicken with her head cut off, the dentist and her were sniping at one another,.they saw me s an emergency patient, had an infected busted off tooth. At least I got antibiotics from him, but I'd rather suffer and die next time. Another person wrote a review for this office, and lo and behold, it sounds like she was treated the same as I was. My dentist office had referred me to this office, I called them immediately when I got home to tell them about this incident and also to tell them not to recommend these people.
