I sent him all correspondence and anything he asked. Then he sends me a letter stating he was dropping me because I didn't do anything. Phone number, email addresses he gave me all matched. I called him the same day, once again saying I never sent him anything. I lost my temper stating I kept receipts of acceptance of emails, and recorded all calls. He changed his tune, stated he would call me later to refill. He never did. I was left with no choice but to get another attorney. I'm starting to believe after reading reviews from other clients he pulled the same stunt with his age is starting to catch up with him or he's part of the corpate machine. Since he was recommended by the BWC attorney, that represented me..

I have been receiving benefits from a group long-term disability policy, in addition to regular Social Security retirement benefits. It's complicated, but Social Security deemed my disability payments to be "earned income". And that my "wage" income was over the limit for an early retiree, and I owed SSA $25,000. Tried to explain to them and got nowhere. I left a message with Mr. Brown, and he made several efforts to reach me,and we finally connected. He impressed me as kind, caring, fair, vastly experienced in situations like mine. He was confident that if I sent him all my documents and the copies of the letters from SSA, that he would walk me through the appeal process and that we would likely be successful. This confidence alone was tremendously valuable to me, and relieved my anxiety. At least someone understood me and my situation and was willing to help. Within a day or two, SSA called to say "never mind". You don't owe anything. I don't think Jim had the power to work thus miracle, but it was certainlywelcome news. I wrote Mr. Brown back and told him that we wouldn't be needing his services. He was very gracious and truly happy for us. I have such a high regard for him and how he communicates with his clients. I can give him the highest recommendation.

I worked with Spitz, The Employee's Law Firm and my experience was extremely disappointing…read more From the beginning, I made it clear that when we discussed settlement amounts, I was focused on what would actually hit my bank account. That expectation was brought up multiple times, and I relied on my attorney to either structure things accordingly or clearly explain any differences. Based on those conversations, I moved forward expecting a settlement that would meet a minimum take-home amount. Instead, after everything was finalized, I received only about 80% of what I believed I would be getting. I am not a lawyer, so I depended on clear communication and a proper explanation of how the settlement would be structured. That did not happen. The impact of taxes and how they would reduce the actual amount I received was not clearly explained to me beforehand. When I raised the issue afterward, I was told directly that the owner "does not fix issues like this," and that nothing would be done to make up the difference, even though this situation could have been avoided with proper communication. At that point, it became clear to me that once the case was closed, there was no interest in taking responsibility or making things right. The difference may not seem significant from a firm perspective, but it would have made a meaningful impact for me while I was actively trying to secure new employment. That made the refusal to address it even more frustrating. I trusted this firm to represent me and guide me through a process I am not trained in. Instead, I was left with significantly less than I expected and no meaningful effort to address it. Based on my experience, I would avoid this firm.

Hello, I had a very bad experience with Spitz Law Firm. I spent a lot of time for days filling out…read morethe very tedious and time consuming intake form. I answered 173 questions and then was scheduled with Attorney Sofia Alfaro. I sent all types of confidential information the law firm requested such as, W2-form (glad I removed my social security number before sending a copy), paystubs and documentation pertaining to my case. When Sofia called me she then asked me what state that I lived in despite me clearly indicating that I lived in Michigan on the intake form and her typing up a summary of events and she also confirmed Michigan as my location in preparation for our consultation. Back to what happened... When Sofia called me and then suddenly told me that she unfortunately couldn't continue the consultation with me due to the law firm not being able to accept any clients from Michigan due to the partner leaving the law firm who represented clients in MI. My concern is that before getting all my confidential information the law firm should've made sure they were able to legally represent cases in MI it was very unprofessional and a waste of time. It's suspicious to ask for W-2 information then suddenly the next day cancel a consultation. I would choose another law firm. I hope this review helps. Have A Wonderful Day
