On my next visit, 2 weeks later, I questioned a test not being scheduled with all the others and the lady at the desk said oh you have to schedule that yourself. I said oh really, ok I wasn't told that but who do I call? She said anybody you want. I said like who?! Oh you can just google an imaging place she says. Really?! So I already missed 2 weeks of scheduling this. How come this was never discussed? She said well your provider should have told you. I said provider like the doctor? She said yes. Not happy that I wasted 2 weeks of not making an appointment for a CT scan. If the front desk is going to schedule tests, they should schedule ALL of them or at least explain to me that I have to schedule one myself.

We had absolutely no contact with this practice until her pre-scheduled follow up appointment almost 6 weeks later. When we went to the appt. the APRN, Martha Alvarez said my wife was in heart failure. Almost 6 weeks after the results of the test were documented and known to the Doctor. She said my wife's Left Ventricular systolic function was "severely impaired with an EF less than 20%. The APRN asked my wife if she had any symptoms from the list that she read off to which my wife indicated that she did not. The APRN said we should start prescription therapy immediately with Jardiance and it will progress to possibly 4 meds. Yes, there are possible side effects and based on health history it made this even more concerning. The fear factor of possible A-Fib which the APRN expressed and other issues left us no choice but to take Martha Alvarez advice to start this med. We expressed grave concern over this. We shared that we thought there was a previous Echocardiogram done at another provider with no issues. The APRN assured us she would talk to Dr. N. Alvarez to share the concerns and would get back to us tomorrow. My wife had no previous history of this, no symptoms etc. The APRN was also asked with the Echo being done in May and the situation needed immediate addressing in their opinion "Why were we not contacted sooner." She indicated she didn't know, it must have been an oversite. We did not hear from the practice until 5:38 PM on 9 July 2028 almost 60 hours since this devastating diagnosis and after starting an unnecessary med. I had requested copies of the visit recording from the 7 July appointment and was refused such copy. After being called on the evening of 9 July I went to the practice and requested an appointment with Dr. Nitza Alvarez, the cardiologist who supposedly reviewed the Echocardiogram, to get the accurate diagnosis, find out why and how this could happen and to get copies of the test and other info. We were given a 5:00 PM appointment with Dr. Alvarez on 10 July 2026. Dr. Alvarez refused to allow me to record our appointment when I asked if I could. At this meeting we again expressed our grave concern over this interaction. We reminded Dr. Alvarez that my wife has had serious health issues she has been dealing with for 5 years, which the doctor was aware of. Including Cancer, Chemotherapy, blocked arteries in the stomach, aneurysms, brain cancer, covid, kidney issues among others. Being told that she now had heart failure was dramatic and caused significant unnecessary anxiety along with buying unnecessary medication and taking them for no good reason. Dr. Alvarez said she had re-reviewed the Echocardiogram and in a very "matter of fact" kind of way said "I clicked the wrong box." With a follow up stating it was only 48 hours and we corrected the diagnosis. Forty-eight hours with a health history that we have can feel like an eternity for any compassionate person. Very condescending tone for a mis-diagnosis that simply should not have happened. She indicated that she re-reviewed the Echocardiogram after talking to the APRN. I am not sure if this is accurate, I have sincere doubts of this, and think it may have been because another medical provider asked for the results. Dr. Alvarez mis-diagnosis and initiating a totally unnecessary prescription plan with the dismissive excuse that "I clicked the wrong box" is not an acceptable explanation. This kind of anxiety because a wrong box being checked is unfathomable. In my opinion this kind of care is unprofessional, unnecessary and causes significant anxiety for a senior woman that is quite frankly despicable.
