Dr. Mehta in 2015 attributed a long-standing problem to an eating disorder dating back to high school. I was 56 with very severe constipation that had been going on for years. I happened to see my chart with his note referring to my problem as psychological. I recently went to ER for a bowel obstruction. Multiple tests were performed indicating a nonfunctional colon due to its size and tortuousness. Not because of laxative use, an eating disorder, nor psychological issues. Simply because I was born with it.
