Only when I found a huge mistake that accountant was in the process of making was I passed off again to one of their partners. The partner was rude, condescending, and arrogant. Frankly, I would tolerate her attitude if she was any good, but she's not. Her skill level is average--if that. Our return is simple. Yet, it baffled the staff accountant. The partner was overwhelmed and took her frustration out on me, complaining of having "782 returns to complete and not having had a vacation". Too bad, hire more staff, and get the returns done correctly and on time. Don't complain to me. I would not recommend this firm for several reasons. First, I wouldn't trust the competency of the staff. Second, I wouldn't assume your taxes were even being done, much less on time. Finally, their accounting staff will likely treat you disrespectfully and condescendingly.

We worked with this firm for two years, and it proved to be a major setback for our operations. Despite being assigned a "QuickBooks expert," the firm failed to manage our Housecall Pro integration correctly--continually insisting we simply unlink it. As the business owner, I was eventually able to coordinate with the software providers myself and fix the integration settings within just two weeks. Because our books were not being reconciled monthly as promised, we were advised to file 2024 taxes that were admittedly inaccurate to avoid "correction costs." This resulted in us overpaying on our tax liability based on flawed data. After I hired an independent bookkeeper in late 2025, they uncovered over 700 uncategorized transactions dating back nearly a year. Most damagingly, the firm underpaid our Q3 and Q4 Texas state sales tax. I am now personally responsible for the resulting fines and penalties. Despite these documented failures, the firm still charged $1,000 for "work performed" during the period these errors occurred. When I reached out to the owner to dispute this, they refused to take any responsibility for the penalties their mistakes caused. If you value accurate bookkeeping and a firm that stands by their professional work, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

We now have taxes that can result in paper trails up to an inch thick or more each year, and after reading on the internet that Egon specializes in gas and oil leases I was in. He had me fill in a large sheet of tax information to get started and then helped me fill in the blanks when I had questions or concerns. Egon is great at communication and works hard to make sure you get the tax deductions that you qualify for. I did some freelance work last year and he helped me to deduct my freelance expenses with no problem. His final paperwork post-return is organized and helpful for future tax years. Getting to his office is a bit of a potshot, as you have to watch the street numbers on Koenig very carefully and then turn in quickly to the driveway unsuited for 45mph turns and angry tailgating-in-the-right-lane drivers. However, his office is clean and comfortable once you get in. He's one of those guys that I imagine fitting in really well on A Prairie Home Companion tapings - tall, blond and stolid.
