If I could, I would give a rating of 0 or even negatives!!! This was the worst shopping experience I've EVER experienced and what is so upsetting to me, is that this is supposed to be a memorable and exciting time of my life... finding my wedding dress and I left the store in tears! First off I've had this bridal appointment scheduled for well over a month, and they called me the day before my appointment to confirm everything. So long story short, they scheduled my appt for bridesmaids fitting instead of my bridal appointment and I basically had to insist that it be corrected and to keep the same time. They said well if you can get here as soon as possible (I informed them that I was driving a hour) and they could hopefully get us started early so my bridesmaids would have time to try on dresses after my bridal try ons. So once we arrived to the store, (over an hour early) the hostess was rude and basically told us to look around at the dresses but not to pull any out and somebody would be with us "in a little bit." I could already tell this appointment probably wasn't going to end very well. So after waiting almost a hour, the consultant finally came over with her clipboard and I tried to explain to her that I've never worn dresses like these and I would need some help figuring out what fits, looks good, etc. So I told her that I had found some pictures online and asked if I could just show her those pics and maybe she could pull some similar dresses for me to try. She slowly walked around the store and acted like she was on drugs and didn't know what was going on... pulling dresses that were NOTHING like I had shown her. So she wastes a good 30-40 mins of my appointment. When we finally got to the dressing room she "helped" me get into the under garment portion to try on the gowns and then disappeared, leaving me standing there for a good ten mins. I stuck my head out of the room to see if my family knew where the heck she went and nobody knew. I was really really patient (and I am NOT a Patient person) so finally she came back and the dress she helped me get in was one that I had not even shown. After this went on a while, I only tried on TWO dresses the whole night and one of those was bc my soon to be SIL went and found one of the dresses picked from earlier, and my sister helped me get it on. The couple of mins I was with the consultant she kept saying she needed to go pull the other girls dresses. She was trying to help two brides and once and the manager was sitting at the desk playing on the computer. I put my clothes back on and left in tears!!! When I tried explain to the manager (still sitting behind the desk, playing on the computer) how unhappy and upset I was, you could look at her and tell my every word was going in one ear and out of the other!!! I was VERY VERY upset. David's Bridal RUINED my first experience of wedding dress shopping with my family!!!! I will NOT ever come back here along with telling everyone I know that is getting married to NOT GO TO DAVIDS BRIDAL!!!! read more

I drove from out of town to come to this location. I had an 11:00 and 12:30 appointments. Myself and two bridesmaids were running behind from leaving so I called this location so I could let them know that we wouldn't be getting there until 11:30. Long story short, we get there and my bridesmaids are immediately being attended even though my appointment was supposed to be first. I was told I had missed my appointment so I would have to reschedule. I'm thinking I'm the bride, you really want to not attend to me even though I'm the one spending the most money?! Rescheduled for that same day at 5:30 pm which meant we had to find something to do until 5:30. When we got back I wasn't asked what type of silhouette I liked. I had to literally go get my own dress. Ridiculous! I would never come back here and spend any money at this location. It was awful!!!! read more

This store actually deserves no stars. I had an appointment Saturday & couldn't get any help. The other employees kept paging my stylist on the intercom; nobody could find her. One employee had on black sweat pants with a white strip going down the side. The employees are very unprofessional in many ways. This store is a big disappointment for David's Bridal. I had made an appointment ahead of time and I had seen some bad reviews about this place on here and I won't lie, it did make me quite nervous. But it was actually the opposite for me! Ashlee was my consultant and she was super friendly and wasn't pushy at all. I had picked out a few dresses when I got there and I waited maybe 30 minutes or less while my consultant was finishing up her other customer, which we didn't mind waiting at all since that gave us time to look around. After I tried on my dress I chose, I had told her what kind of veil I was thinking of and she picked out one that was exactly what I was wanting and even recommended a headpiece to go with it, which I loved but I wasn't sure if it was for me, and it's like she read my mind because without saying anything, she brought out another one that was so beautiful and was the one I ended up choosing! There was a couple times where I was having a hard time explaining what I was wanting my sleeves to look like and Ashlee knew exactly what I meant and would explain it for me. The whole experience was very relaxed and they made my family and friends feel at home and of course me as well! All of the ladies there helped out so much too, and were also very friendly and nice! Lots of BEAUTIFUL dresses. Not enough staff to handle all of the walk in customers, appointments, and phone calls. Staff seemed very stressed out and unorganized. I went to order a bridesmaid dress which would not be in until after the wedding. My friend, the bride, was not informed of this information when she picked out her dresses. Unacceptable! Though the stylist and manager were kind in their efforts to help resolve the problem as best they could, I will absolutely not be going there when I am a bride. read more

When my daughter got engaged we knew immediately we wanted to get her dress from David's Bridal which I highly recommend but not this location. We had an appointment but they overbooked & it took about 2 hours before she even got to try on the first dress. When we tried to make an appointment for alterations I was hung up on, left on hold for over 10 minutes before I finally hung up. After 4 times of trying to get an appointment for alterations & always getting left on hold I called a different Davids Bridal location. They were amazing & made the whole process so easy, I wish we would have started out at that David's Bridal to begin with. read more

I was a little nervous about coming to this location because of some of the reviews, but I was very pleased! I called to make an appointment and the lady was very nice over the phone. I arrived thirty minutes, filled out a quick information sheet about my wedding, and was immediately set up with my stylist, Kim Reeves. She asked what I wanted and pulled several dresses. She was very helpful. She helped me in and out of the dresses, put belts on and veils without me asking. She was honest about how a dress looked and led me into a different direction that I at first wasn't sure about, but happy she found my dress!! She made my experience joyful and easy. If you go, ask for Kim and if you go on a Saturday just keep in mind that it will be a busy day! read more

After reading the reviews I was really iffy about going to this place, but the hours I work its the only Bridal store open when I get off. I made an appointment and when I got there Kim Reeves was my stylist. I picked some dresses and after trying some on and talking to me she pulled one she thought I would like. And turns out that was the one I fell in love with! Kim was awesome, she even helped me pick all the accessories. She told me honest opinions, she gave me discounts I didn't even know I could get. The prices of the gowns are reasonable, which is why we chose to look at David's Bridal in Hoover. Our experience wasn't the best. Our appointment began 30 minutes later than scheduled because the consultant was assigned 2 brides to work with at once. During our appointment, yet another bride showed up, also assigned to him. The consultant was nice enough, but totally overscheduled and was not able to help us as much as we needed. FOUR brides were sharing one platform and mirror and it was very crowded. There were other dressing areas and mirrors available, but the consultants needed to keep their brides in the same area. The consultants were nice enough, just too busy to be as helpful as we needed. I'd like to add that after this review posted on Yelp, a representative of David's Bridal contacted us, apologized, and made offers to rectify the situation. David's Bridal turned my negative first impression around with excellent follow-up and customer service, and I raised my original 2-star review to four stars. Yay! I'm a fan :) read more

I have never been treated so horrible before. I bought my wedding gown a few weeks ago and I had an appointment to get it altered today. I walked up to the door at 10. That's all I literally walked up to the door. And looked at the sign on the door. And the lady working there made the effort to unlock both doors. And actually yell at me, saying they don't open untill 10:30 and that my appointment isn't untill 10:30 and if I understood that, in such a rude tone as well. So a week before I wanted to go wedding dress shopping, I called David's Bridal to schedule an appointment. I was told I did not need one because they had plenty of slots available for the day I wanted and to go ahead and just plan to come in any time that day, (it was a Saturday.) I asked if I could schedule an appointment anyway just to be safe considering I live out of town and can not just stop by again a different day. Again, the woman (I was never told her name) assured me I would be fine and seemed to just want to get me off the phone as quickly as possible. Fast forward to a week or so later and me and my party (my mom, MOH, and one bridesmaid) show up at David's bridal. I was told I needed to leave because I had no appointment and they were BOOKED FOR THE WHOLE DAY. They were very rude to me and even laughed in my face when I said I didn't have an appointment EVEN THOUGH I WAS TOLD I DID NOT NEED ONE. The girl at the desk hardly even looked at me and treated me like I was an idiot while I explained that I had tried to make an appointment but was told I didn't need one. She simply said, "I can make you an appointment for next week." And when I said no thanks, she asked me to leave so she "can help the customers who planned ahead." I TRIED TO PLAN AHEAD. I was livid and completely distraught because I didn't think I would be able to find a dress that day. I ended up rushing to Bella's Bridal a few miles away (without an appointment) and was treated like a princess. I bought my dress at Bella's that day. The ONLY reason I'm giving David's bridal two stars instead of the one (really zero) they deserve is because we found my bridesmaid dresses there and finally got someone to sort of help us with that. If you still think you wanna come here for your wedding dress, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT no matter what any of the rude associates tell you!!! Actually, skip the associates completely and book an appointment on their website online! But I wouldn't recommend it. Even the people who had appointments that day were all standing around waiting. The associate pressed and pressed for me to try and finance the dress since we did not have cash on hand. I told her I was working on my credit and I did not want to have points deducted for credit inquiries. She proceeded to Tell me that their inquiries were "soft inquiries" and that they would not affect my credit. I checked my credit score today and my score is down a few points because of this inquiry. I am not happy I get that she needed to make commission but it is not cool to lie to people. read more

I have a long history with this David's Bridal location and it has definitely changed for the better over the years. I had low expectations when I went for a bridesmaid dress search for my best friend's wedding, and to my surprise it was a delightful experience! I can't remember the name of the woman who assisted us but she was a sweetheart. The main reason I am leaving this review is because after I ordered my dress and without thinking let it be shipped to this location (I live 3 hours away). I called the store and didn't realize the woman who answered the phone was the store manager (where else can you call and get the manager on phone by accident?!). I explained my predicament and Jakea (sp?) said no problem, call back when I get the email that my dress has arrived at her store and she would take care of it for me. Over two weeks later she remembered me and fulfilled her promise! I now don't even have to go to my local store because she is shipping it to my house. Awesome customer service! read more

Carolyn Jackson talked bad about my bridal party when I got there. She didn't realize they were with me and we had a bride and bridesmaid appointment. Then she put us down for the wrong bridesmaid dress and three months before the wedding we had to reorder. Also, she put discontinued sleeves on me that I could not order. I had the worse experience here. The girls were mean all except for the two managers that helped me. I was warned but didn't listen. None of my friends will ever use David's Bridal especially this one! It caused a lot of undue stress on me while planning my wedding and most people there did not care. She stayed within my budget, picked out different Styles for me to try and when I picked my dress she chose the perfect veil. She was fun and the whole day was so much like the tv show, say yes to the dress without the prices I couldn't believe it. My parents came with me and she made them feel like a king and queen. I visited David's Bridal Friday evening for a bridesmaids appointment and it was the worst experience I've ever had at a store. I've shopped at David's before in Tuscaloosa and in Virginia for weddings I've been a bridesmaid in and have wonderful experiences. so naturally for my own wedding I wanted to shop there first. When we got there on Friday for our appointment no one was there to help us. I had one bridesmaid already waiting and said nobody had helped her when she signed in. Myself and the other bridesmaid were stuck in traffic and called the store to let them know and someone at the store said it wasn't a problem and said when we did get there to just let them know who we are and what time our appointment was. I tired to tell someone who worked there, she had short blonde hair and I did not get her name but all she said was "okay." Nothing else. After about 15 minutes of trying to find the dress we found online and looking at other dresses we went to let someone know the girls were ready to try them on. The girl at the desk paged our sales person Sydney and she opened two dressing rooms. She asked me when my wedding date was but that was it. She did not ask if I had any other bridesmaids, which I have 5 other girls who are in my wedding. She barley spoke to me and just seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else. As someone who works in commission sales I was very displeased. Once myself and the two girls had settled on two options I asked our sales girl if she could write them down. She said she would build an online profile and I would get it emailed to me. Still waiting on this email. I also purchased two swatches and as I was trying to pay for them the cashier left in the middle of the transaction to take a group photo with what seemed like other employees making me wait on her. She came back and as she was reading the details of this online profile I noticed our sales girl who was helping us got the only question she asked me wrong. She wrote down the wrong wedding date. This may not be a big issue to the store seeing as it was "only a bridesmaids appointment", but as someone who was planning on purchasing 7 bridesmaids dresses, 4 flower girl dresses, my wedding gown, my moms dress and my mother in laws dress I am highly disappointed. I work in sales on commission, I get it can be difficult working with the public at times. The lack of customer service I had Friday was appalling. Making the customer feeling like they are taken care of is number one in sales, at least it is where I work. My experience at this location has been a chaotic rollercoaster ride. I have been to the store on 3 separate occasions. The first was awful, no assistance, no follow up, nothing. The second was great!!! My stylist was helpful and very patient with me especially being a 1st time bride. This last appointment was the WORST!!! My family came to town from Hawaii to pick and purchase all of our dresses. I made an appointment with the helpful stylist from before. Due to management, she wasn't informed of my appointment or presence. We waited almost an hour to be assisted. We finally received a small amount of assistance (when the stylist wasn't helping other customers). What's the point in making an appointment?? I would rather have dealt with the stylist I made the appointment with. Needless to say, we left with NOTHING. I'm getting married in less than 70 days. I have read a lot of negative reviews, but I saw the most gorgeous dresses on their website and decided to take a chance. The first appointment was great, the woman who helped me with trying on dresses was very sweet and helpful and helped me find two dresses to decide between. I called the next day after I picked the one I wanted and let them know so that way I could pay for it. My mom wanted to pay half so she called and left her information so that I could call later and they were supposed to run both cards at the same time. They ended losing my mom's information which they had written down on paper (which someone could find and steal) and had to just run my card. They apologized profusely and said that they would offer to clean my dress for no cost after the wedding because of the trouble and that my dress should come in around April 30th. My dress came in this week and my mom went to pick it up while I was at work, she asked them about the cleaning and they told her they don't do verbal agreements and I would have to pay full price for the dress cleaning even though I was told otherwise. Your employees are extremely rude and unhelpful and don't know how to treat customers. The one who helped me was awesome and was the reason I kept going back, but I've canceled my fitting and I will never use David's Bridal again. We had a "horrible experience" at this Hoover location. We purchased 3 BridesMaids Dresses, 1 Wedding Gown and 4 pairs of shoes. Returned for the fitting of the Dresses then returned 4 additional times because the dresses were WRONG, JUST NOT READY and then 1 of the dresses was still sized wrong so we took it to someone else to fix since they just couldn't do their JOB. We were also told by the Manager of Alterations to go a size bigger on the Wedding gown incase it came in smaller she said they are made in CHINA so you never knew what size it would come in, I think this was done just to get the EXTRA money for alterations, ((280.00)) worth of alterations to one dress. The shoes were to be dyed but when they were picked up spots were missed and they had to correct. I have a call into Nicole Popal General Manager, today, is the second time I have left her a message with out a call back from her. read more

The day I chose my dress was almost great! I had a wonderful lady helping me named Carolyn! She was precious. Two of my brides maids bought dresses there that did not have to be altered, but me and my maid of honor had to have ours altered. Now on the day of sale I was told everything would be in by February 27. My mother specifically asked about the veil because she was going to add some pearls to it. The lady laughed and said it would probably be in before then. So on February 27 I had received an email that my slip was in but no veil! On this same day one of my bridesmaids had to pick up hers so I asked her to grab my slip and ask about the veil. A male working up front told her the veil would be in until April 8! uh What?? They also told her that the veil was not in receiving so it must be with the dress. The day we came for alterations another lady was scheduling the day we'd come back for final fitting. She scheduled it for March 27 at 11:30. So on March 23 I received an email asking to confirm my appointment on March 26 at 11:30. This was not a good time for me so I called them and they were clueless as to what happened. She then told me just to come with my maid of honor to her fitting the next day at 12. So we get there and apparently they were confused that we were both there to try on our dress. When she brought mine out I asked where my slip was and she said it wasn't back there and that they didn't keep them with the dresses. I explained to her what was told to my cousin/bridesmaid the day she came to pick it up. She then went and checked receiving and it wasn't there either. She found me one to use while I was trying on my dress but informed us we could just reorder the slip. I assumed at first we would have to pay for it and I sure wasn't going to do that after spending as much as we already have! She pulled out a sheet showing where I picked everything up with the date of February 27. I had received nothing at all the day! My dress had come in before that and so had my shoes. We won't even go in to the fact that one lady didn't know how to even lace me up so another had to redo it. Anyways, we asked about having everything steamed and she said it would take two weeks and we could pick up April 8. She also told me to speak with Victoria up front to reorder my slip. She was pretty nice and said they could reorder with no charge. I joked about now that she reordered it it would show up. I was implying it would be found within the store. Her response was "yeah now someone will tell you they picked it up!" No. The only people picking my stuff up is my mother, my aunt, or myself. No one would pick it up and lie about it and I sure wouldn't lie about receiving a slip of all things. I found that comment to be very rude and insulting. I was praying this was the end but today (March 31) added to it. My maid of honor received an email today stating her dress was ready. She was heading to Hoover so she thought she'd swing by. She spoke to a lady who had helped us during our initial fitting and she said the email was a mistake and my friend asked if they could just go ahead and steam it because these issues were just getting old. She said yeah and to come back at 5. Well, my friend wasn't complaining, but instead, just telling her the issues we had been having. Her response to her was "so all of these issues have been with the bride and not with yours; what can we help YOU with?" Who speaks to customers like that! She just spent $135 on a dress there PLUS $115 (stupid) to have it altered and the employees can just smart off like that with little respect? When she came back at 5 they couldn't find the dress! They finally found it after a game of hide and seek apparently and tonight when she put it on there's black marks down it. We will NEVER use them again. There is little to no organization and most of them have terrible people skills. For the price I pay for a dress I expect to be treated with respect. I have spent years in retail and understand that any retail is a stressful job but I also know that satisfying customers is what pays the paycheck. read more

We had a very pleasant experience with davids bridal. our peak moment came the day of the wedding when 2 of the bridesmaids dresses would not zip up. we were able to get one to zip up eventually but not the other. we called davids bridal in a panic and the store managers rushed right over to try to help. they could not get it to zip either! they raced back to the store and retrieved another dress and brought it back just in time for the wedding. i wish i knew their names, they were lifesavers. the two store managers really went above and beyond to help us on this special day. thank you so much!!!! read more

I went in with an appointment at 12:30 and upon arrival, they told me they were "a little bit behind". It took them until 3:00 to start putting me in dresses. They would not let me put on all of the dresses I chose because some were entirely too big. When I asked them to clip them in the back they told me they couldn't. Then, I specifically asked for no sweetheart necklines & nearly every dress they brought me was a sweetheart (maybe 2 out of 10 were what I asked to be in). They put me in a ball gown sweetheart TWICE after I told them I didn't like it and proceeded to put a veil on me with the dress I did not like (trying to sell maybe?). After the appointment, I stated they did not have "the one" and did not have the style dress I was looking for and they pushed a follow up appointment and would not take no for an answer. I later called and canceled the second appointment because I refuse to go back. Not to mention, I also had a second appointment for my bridesmaids that day - who did not even get to try on dresses. They told me they were not allowed to use empty side rooms to try on dresses because there was no consultant helping.... WHAT?! I had an appointment to try on bridal dresses. I was unaware of any time limit (my fault). I took forever. My consultant, Maritza, never mentioned time whatsoever and was super attentive and helpful even though she was also assisting another bride at the same time! She listened to my preferences, made numerous suggestions, was super knowledgeable of styles that would flatter my figure, answered all my questions, looked up or asked another employee if she didn't know the answer, brought extra accessories to enhance the look, made terrific recommendations and was just super patient and professional in her job. I was also relieved that she wasn't hovering over me, being pushy or showing frustration or impatience with my indecision. My groom to be was there to offer support and opinions (he's my best friend!) and she set him up in a chair and included him in the whole process in a cheerful manner. She is perfect for this job. So manager please know we will not use this business or this wedding and I will tell everybody how my daughter was treated. My daughter and I went to David`s Bridal in Hoover and the experience was not pleasant. The bride made an appointment for a specific consultant and unfortunately she was not available. We began looking for dresses before we were told someone else would be helping us. It was about 15 minutes before she came to help us. I actually had to ask someone to get her to assist us. We were first told we could take 6 dresses to the dressing room, but we were only allowed to take three. Needless to say my daughter tried on two dresses during the 90 minutes we were there. The sales person was not knowledgeable and did not make our experience worthwhile. I am not sure why you have appointments with specific consultants and they are not available at the time you come in. There were several other brides there that tried on numerous dresses while we were still stuck with an inexperienced consultant. So we left not accomplishing our task of finding the perfect dress. So I am undecided if we will be returning. We actually went to another store without an appointment and tried on more dresses than David Bridal offered us. read more
