i worked here last year and quit because one of the long term employers told me the managers had discussed among them to only give me customers that werent white. Or to pass me clients that didn't "talk english" because i was hispanic. Which of course im willing to help but once they sent me to help a vietnamese couple. I only speak spanish and english and they knew that. They embarrarsed me because when i got called while already helping a bride, so i knew that meant help a spanish speaker since they couldnt. I went up looking obviously for a hispanic couple and when i realized i still ended up they purposly made me leave the bride i was helping to help a customer anyone could ave taken care of just like i did. I still was able to help them with a language barrier. So obviously if i was able to help them so could they. They just simply didnt want to. I felt very discriminated for my race i was the only hispanic. I had told my manageri couldn't come in because my uncle got diagnosed with cancer and Ihad to translate for my family. She did not believe me and instead of supporting me as you should as a manager she was harsh and kept telling me i needed to find someone to cover my shifts and after calling out id be let go. If there was an option for zero stars I would give it. I went into this store with the full intention of buying a prom dress for my daughter. When we walked in the staff was not helpful. My daughter and I end up looking at dresses with no guidance or assistance. We're pulling dresses and I end up having to go find someone to start us a dressing room. When I ask for one Valencia stares at me and then looks at the dresses I am holding and proceeds to tell me that we need to make sure we hang the ones we don't want up because they don't want us putting them back. She then proceeds to walk us to the dressing room and I apologize for bothering the staff since they very much gave off the energy that we were not of absolutely any importance in that store. She then proceeds to talk about how we're not an inconvenience etc. We then get to the dressing room and I hang up my daughters dresses and start to look at shoes and Valencia goes, "Ma'am , Ma'am we are here to HELP you" in this tone that is more like an f you then a we are here to help kind of vibe and proceeds to repeat herself to me. My daughter then looks at me confused because the energy was so off. Then Valencia proceeds to tell me that when trying on dresses they offer corsets and asks me if my daughter wants one with my daughter standing right there. I then ask my daughter does she want one and she says yes so I tell Valencia yes and she goes "what size" doesn't offer to measure her or anything so I just guesstimate a size because I am just over it at this point. So, we try on dresses and Valencia is nowhere to be found. Helping everyone else around us but us. The only time she came around was to make sure we were hanging up the dresses we didn't want. We then decide to leave and not purchase anything because what on earth is this shopping experience it felt like the old school Selena movie when Selena goes to buy a dress and they treat her like she can't afford it to be quite honest. As we are leaving and I am on the phone the manager calls out to me and asks that I give a five-star review to which I replied I would not and explained why with Valencia standing there mean mugging and feigning confusion. On 01/30/2026 I selected a dress and measurement were taken for the dress and the bra. On 2.23.2026 I had a 2nd fitting with the dress that had been ordered and additional alterations were needed. I was informed that the bra had not arrived. On 3.22.2026 I arrived to pick up the dress and bra, only to find that the dress was not ready. In fact, the alterations had not started. I was told that it would be a simple alteration and chose to wait for it to be done. My appointment was at 11am and it was 1245pm when I left with the unfinished dress. It was made very clear that I was relocating to Charleston SC and would be leaving Alabama on 3.22.2026. I was told that only the outer layer needed to be cut, that work was done on it the night before. It was not until I made it to a second David's Bridal location in North Charleston SC that the dress alterations were done correctly. It was at the North Charleston location they took my measurements again I was informed that all layers needed to be cut on the dress. I am thankful that they were able to do what the Hoover Alabama location could not seem to do. It was the Hoover Alabama store,1723 Montgomery Hwy. South #101 that was paid to do the alterations, but did fail to make the proper alterations. This was the worse experience I have had for something that was so simple. I say simple because the North Charleston SC location had the alteration completed and I was walking out of the store in less than an hour. After trying on the dress in the store, it was determined that the inner and outer layer needed to be altered, the dress was too long. I must add that a staff member at the Hoover store told me to kick the dress out as I walked. The bra that I was sized for at the Hoover store was not the correct fit. I informed them that it was not fitting correctly, but there was no concern on their part. Thankfully the North Charleston store saw that it was not correct and with the assistance of a staff member I was able to receive the right size. The staff member at the Hoover store working on the alterations would not give me her name. But I am very thankful to Mr. Johnny Howard, the Store Manager. Mr. Jaisha Range, Sales Manager. And Bianca the Stylist at the Charleston 7250 Rivers Ave. Bldg 1300 location for all of their help. read more

I am honestly baffled at the experience I had. I am a maid of honor for an upcoming wedding, and spent a lot of time trying on dresses and finding one that will arrive in time. I finally found the perfect dress, and my consultant, Rachel, ordered it for me (at least I thought she did). I got a text saying the dress arrived and was ready for pickup. When I arrived, the dress was a COMPLETE different dress. I had never even seen this dress. I told the staff and they were so nonchalant about the issue, just kind of casually said "oh yeah it looks like we put the wrong dress number in when placing the order". They then said we could order a different one as the original dress wouldn't arrive until well after the wedding. I had to ASK for a refund. As if I'm going to order another one??? No way. Again, it seemed like nobody in the store was bothered at the situation, it was almost as if I was boring them. Anyways, I'm out a dress and I will never trust David's Bridal again when it comes to the bare minimum. read more

I've visited this location multiple times and I'd say overall, it's okay. I went in looking for dresses for formal events I had to attend or to try to find really nice accessories like jewelry or shoes. I kind of get the feeling that unless you're a bride or part of a bridal party, you get lost in the hustle and bustle. Sure, it's called David's Bridal so I understand that their bread and butter are weddings, but I think it's important not to overlook other customers just because they aren't brides. When you walk in, you may be greeted by someone. It all depends on how busy they are, which is understandable. I'd say in the multiple times I've been here, I've been greeted about 60% of the time. Once in the store, I normally look at the left side of the store, which are not the bridal gowns. This area has the formal dresses/bridesmaids dresses. While in that section, I was only asked once if I needed assistance. The last few times I was there, I picked out some dresses and tried them on. No one asked if I needed assistance back in the dressing area. One lady told me I looked pretty in one of the dresses that I tried on, which was nice. However, the dress was clearly too long so I would have expected her to tell me about their alteration services or let me know if the dress could be ordered in petite. Because I really never received the service I expected, I ended up buying dresses elsewhere. I think if you're planning a wedding, you'll have a better experience here than I did. I may visit again in the future and give them another chance. read more

My dearest friend dropped off a dress for alteration. She was told it would take quite a few days to complete. A day or two after drop off, she called to cancel her alteration as the event had been cancelled and she would no longer need the service. Please mind this dress was not from David's, and she called to alert of the cancelled event well ahead of the pick up date and time David's had provided her. Alterations dept let her know her dress was nearly done - telltale sign they were rushing the alteration so they could still charge her for work. Sadly, the work received was horrible. Pictures are attached. Sleeves uneven, unflattering puckering on one side of the bust, and a cheap stitch to "close up" the slit. Very unprofessional work. Please think twice before bringing your special occasion dress to David's for alterations. They may not listen to you, and additionally they may ruin your dress! read more

My sister and I are both engaged and looking for good quality/affordable dresses for bridesmaids. I made an appt one Sunday afternoon. The staff who greeted me was very friendly. The store was very busy that day so I expected to wait a few minutes. My party had to wait over 30 minutes with an appointment. The stylist helping us was not very helpful at all. She seemed distracted and did not offer any dresses for us to try. I was also disappointed with the size selections. I understand you can't keep all sizes in every dress stocked but I think you should have sizes bigger than a 2 on them. I have a few girls who couldn't fit into any dress we wanted. I'm very disappointed in my appointment. Again, I understand that finding dresses for multiple size sized girls can be difficult, but I was going for help from a stylist to get ideas as to what would work best for us in my budget and I did not come close to receiving that. They had a lot of great dresses to choose from, and I saw many brides picking beautiful dresses. However, this was not a good experience for me. read more

We always say that we'll start here, but we end up finding exactly the right dress every time, and our journey ends here. For 2019, I had two daughters buying gowns and Tiara helped us. She was a delight - full of great information and thoughts on styles and sizes. Before we knew it, we were narrowing down the options and getting everything hemmed and altered. She is a jewel. I can't say enough good things about this location. My daughter and I went in on a Saturday with no appointment. They worked us in without attitude and proceeded to wait on us hand and foot. Both managers, our stylist, the alterations person, and the person who checked us out were amazing!! We felt like we were the only people that mattered and feel so fortunate to have stumbled upon this place after an appointment at another shop proved that our budget (which I believed to be fairly generous) was not going to cut it. Although the staff was very welcoming as they greeted me, my daughter (the bride to be) and her party, I felt like I was at a car dealership. The girl that was helping her admitted that she was new...no big, everyone has to start somewhere...but she wasn't bringing out the dresses that my daughter was trying to describe...so I tried to guide the assistant which made her (the assistant) agitated. My daughter finally found one that resembled a dress she had be looking at online but it wasn't anywhere near her size, so of course they use the clips to snug it up. I could tell that my daughter wasn't thoroughly convinced about what this dress would look like, but they reassured her that when she received it in her size that it would be just what she was looking for. What they didn't tell us is ALL SALES ARE FINAL!!. It says that on the bottom of the receipt that they gave us but failed to mention it before we paid for it!! So now I've paid for a dress that hasn't been made yet and if it doesn't fit her correctly ( before and without any alterations), we can't take it back. So guess what? She received the dress in the size they said would look best on her, before ANY alterations are made, and it doesn't look right on her! So I just spent over $600 on a dress that we cannot return... Although I live in Washington State, my daughter live down there. My advice would be to know exactly what you want when you go into this store, bring pictures and don't let them talk you into anything that varies from the dress of your dreams...or go somewhere else that backs there work. read more

Latonya checked me in which was awesome since she's a childhood friend that I grew up with and had no idea that she worked there. Hadn't seen her in years. Toya (I think) was very sweet. She was very understanding and very helpful. She allowed me to pick some dresses and she also asked me could she pick some as well and I'm thankful that I did because she picked a style that I had no intention of trying and it was beautiful. Honestly, we were very disappointed in the entire experience. We had an appointment scheduled for Saturday, June 18th. We walked in and were very happily greeted by all of the staff. We were introduced to our consultant, Alaina, and was told that we were not able to pull any of the dresses. We had to ask Alaina to pull the dresses for us (which is understandable and fine). We started to go through the very limited number of dresses they had and was able to get her to pull a few, until we could not find her. Keep in mind this appointment is only an hour and thirty minutes long. I finally found her consulting with another bride, so we had to wait which is annoying. We got around to our bride trying on dresses, and to begin with Alaina was with us for the first two dresses, after that she was with another bride right next to us. We spent a majority of the time waiting for her to come back to help our bride fix the rest of her dresses since none of us were allowed to help her. In total we only got to try on six dresses while everyone else was able to try on a whole bunch, which is extremely disappointing since this was our first-time wedding dress shopping. We felt like a burden to Alaina. She was not helpful nor engaging at all. We do understand that it was a Saturday and there were a bunch of brides there trying on dresses, but all of our bridal group noticed that other consultants only stayed with one bride the whole time. We made an appointment expecting to have a consultant with us the entire time, so it was very off putting to us when it felt like we were having to fight for her attention (especially under a time crunch). We might come back and try another consultant, but honestly the whole experience felt like everyone was black Friday shopping and fighting over the limited selection. read more

The manager Carol was great despite a slight disagreement on her staff and herself. however, Kimberly L. (Consult number 7056660) was very unprofessional speaking to other guests and consultants talking about people being difficult and other things. I would not recommend having Kimberly at all. This was the worst experience just because of her behavior and attitude. I suggest also checking your receipts before you leave because they had colors and dress styles wrong. As a bride planning their wedding this was over stressful for no reason and I hate that. All I wanted was for my girls to have a good time because they mean the world to me but I couldn't even let them have that due to the staff. My girls got dresses but this was after 2 hours of going back and forth with staff and them having a problem with every dress. David's Bridal do better! It isn't about you or your staff but about your guests. Without your guests you wouldn't have a job. Highly disappointed. Also telling my sister who just lost her baby that the bump didn't matter to try on the dress is exceptionally rude. & you deserve less than one star. Even though there were other appointments, the ladies still were able to squeeze me in and help me find a dress I liked and get fitted for it so that I would not have to reschedule my appointment and make a long drive again. I very rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was so terrible that I'm left with no choice. I began my search for a low-key wedding gown at David's Bridal. Upon walking in, I smiled pleasantly at the three associates standing near the door. None of them smiled back or greeted me. I just assumed this is the kind of place that you figure things out for yourself and I began looking around. After digging through the racks for about 30 minutes I decided to try on 2 options and see what I thought. I noticed a dressing room door standing open, but I decided to search for a sales associate to make sure I should just pop in. I found a few associates digging through boxes and asked if if was ok if I popped in a dressing room. The sales associate then very rudely told me that the dresses in my arms were bridal gowns and that I was not to have any bridal gowns unless I had a bridal appointment. I very politely asked if it was ok if I just tried on one quickly and she very firmly told me "No." I was offered an appointment hours from the time I was in the store. I certainly understand the need for policies like this, but what I do not understand is why no one informed me of the policies when I walked in the door and why they could not make an exception considering that there were numerous dressing rooms available, as well as sales associates who seemed to be doing nothing but looking at their phones. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME Scheduled an appointment to try on dresses and brought along a friend to help. I was brought ONE dress, which was lovely but I came to get options. Had to beg my consultant to bring more dresses, only got one other and it did not meet any of my requests. Tried on the original dress again and my consultant ARGUED with me about how I should wear my hair, my venue, anything I mentioned about my upcoming wedding. Called to complain and the manager basically laughed off my complaints. She even suggested my consultant didn't pay as much attention because I wasn't "a serious shopper". I was not expecting to be so pleased! I checked in with Jahlyn up front then I met Ashley! Ashley was my stylist! The first dress we picked was beautiful but not quite me. So we moved on to the next dress! I didn't want a veil at first but Ashley suggested I at least try it, so I did. She put the veil on my head with my head piece, pulled out the train on my second dress and I just fell apart. It was perfect. She pulled together exactly what I was looking for! I didn't even want to take it off! I had an amazing experience and found my once in a lifetime dress! Went there last year for my daughter. We had an appointment but consultant too busy with other person who had same time appointment. I found the dresses and helped my daughter in the dresses. No options given for sash, veil, etc. When ordered items, some things didn't come in white--again no options for sash. Veil we did get another option. Very high pressure sales. What should have been a nice mother-daughter moment was frustrating. They sold us the sample sash at REGULAR price, along with a white ribbon. Told us when dress came in to bring sash and they would fix missing beading. I would also have to pay an extra $30 to have them change the applique from the sample to the white ribbon. Why didn't they just offer us a different sash? 2nd appointment with bridesmaid from Michigan to look for bridesmaid dresses. Same consultant, same issue--2 appointments at same time. I found dresses while my daughter helped her in them. No one helped with questions about the options for various dresses. Ultimately, we decided not to buy the bridesmaid dresses there. When dress came in, we had to call to check on it. They never called us to tell us it had arrived. We get there and they bring the dress and that was it. They didn't offer to lend her the long line bra to try on the dress, nor did they even help her in it. I did it. They didn't check on us to see if we even needed anything. I brought the sash back and was told by the manager that they don't even have the beads to repair it. Then they asked why they didn't order us a new one. How am I to know why her employees did what they did? So, we had to wait again for the new sash to come in. I definitely didn't bring it back to give them an extra $30 to transfer the applique. I did it myself for less than a $1 and I am not a seamstress. Bottom line--customer service stinks and way over priced. You might find a nice dress, but don't automatically jump on board buying all the accessories they suggest. I found the same sash (on white ribbon) for 1/4 of their cost. Probably could have found the veil too. And don't cave to their high pressure sales tactic that says you HAVE to order that dress at that time. Think about it, or at least look on their website. Some dresses are cheaper on-line and shipping may be faster. Just look for the style number that you like. read more

I can't say enough about her, she was very patient and kind. I told her what I wanted, how I envisioned myself and my ladies for my big day. And, she made it happen!! Every dress she selected, I loved and they all fit me like a glove. She ultimately helped me select my dream dress, and also very patiently and thoroughly explained the alterations process. Great place with beautiful dresses... however, my stylist made me order my dress a size too big because my size "wouldn't be here in time for the wedding" yet a size BIGGER would be available, makes no sense and sounds like an excuse to get more money through alterations. The person thats altering my dress for MUCH CHEAPER told me that Davids has done it too many times for it to just be a coincidence. They care more about money then making brides happy. read more

This was the worst shopping experience I've EVER experienced and what is so upsetting to me, is that this is supposed to be a memorable and exciting time of my life... finding my wedding dress and I left the store in tears! First off I've had this bridal appointment scheduled for well over a month, and they called me the day before my appointment to confirm everything. So long story short, they scheduled my appt for bridesmaids fitting instead of my bridal appointment and I basically had to insist that it be corrected and to keep the same time. They said well if you can get here as soon as possible (I informed them that I was driving a hour) and they could hopefully get us started early so my bridesmaids would have time to try on dresses after my bridal try ons. So once we arrived to the store, (over an hour early) the hostess was rude and basically told us to look around at the dresses but not to pull any out and somebody would be with us "in a little bit." I could already tell this appointment probably wasn't going to end very well. So after waiting almost a hour, the consultant finally came over with her clipboard and I tried to explain to her that I've never worn dresses like these and I would need some help figuring out what fits, looks good, etc. So I told her that I had found some pictures online and asked if I could just show her those pics and maybe she could pull some similar dresses for me to try. She slowly walked around the store and acted like she was on drugs and didn't know what was going on... pulling dresses that were NOTHING like I had shown her. So she wastes a good 30-40 mins of my appointment. When we finally got to the dressing room she "helped" me get into the under garment portion to try on the gowns and then disappeared, leaving me standing there for a good ten mins. I stuck my head out of the room to see if my family knew where the heck she went and nobody knew. I was really really patient (and I am NOT a Patient person) so finally she came back and the dress she helped me get in was one that I had not even shown. After this went on a while, I only tried on TWO dresses the whole night and one of those was bc my soon to be SIL went and found one of the dresses picked from earlier, and my sister helped me get it on. The couple of mins I was with the consultant she kept saying she needed to go pull the other girls dresses. She was trying to help two brides and once and the manager was sitting at the desk playing on the computer. I put my clothes back on and left in tears!!! When I tried explain to the manager (still sitting behind the desk, playing on the computer) how unhappy and upset I was, you could look at her and tell my every word was going in one ear and out of the other!!! I was VERY VERY upset. David's Bridal RUINED my first experience of wedding dress shopping with my family!!!! I will NOT ever come back here along with telling everyone I know that is getting married to NOT GO TO DAVIDS BRIDAL!!!! read more

It was the worst experience ever! We got treated awful from the start. The sales girl Megan treated us like we couldn't afford a nice dress just because we wanted to start out low. She was very hateful to all of us there and pushed my daughter into tears, and had three girls she was tending to, so needless to say we had to run to catch her throughout the entire deal. I do NOT recommend anyone goes there. We did go to Belle's after and wound up with the best service ever and a 1500.00 dress... I was surprised to see some negative reviews for David's Bridal in Hoover. I got my amazing wedding gown there today and had a fabulous experience. While Saturday's are busy and the stylists will have two brides at one time, everything still flowed just fine and I didn't feel neglected. They have many sizes and a lot of gowns to choose from - more of a selection to me than bridal boutiques. I may have just had an awesome consultant but again, had a great experience and am in love with my gown. Would recommend to all of my friends! read more

I drove from out of town to come to this location. I had an 11:00 and 12:30 appointments. Myself and two bridesmaids were running behind from leaving so I called this location so I could let them know that we wouldn't be getting there until 11:30. Long story short, we get there and my bridesmaids are immediately being attended even though my appointment was supposed to be first. I was told I had missed my appointment so I would have to reschedule. I'm thinking I'm the bride, you really want to not attend to me even though I'm the one spending the most money?! Rescheduled for that same day at 5:30 pm which meant we had to find something to do until 5:30. When we got back I wasn't asked what type of silhouette I liked. I had to literally go get my own dress. Ridiculous! I would never come back here and spend any money at this location. It was awful!!!! read more
