I had a great experience at David's bridal. I am getting married in a few months and ran into some issues with my original dress, which has been extremely stressful. As a result I needed to find a new one. Four months is a tight timeline, but Mariah was my consultant and she calmly helped me find some new options. I was able to find something off of the rack that I really like and I left feeling 100% better about my wedding! I will also note that I visited this store earlier on in my dress search process (maybe 7-8 months ago) and they were not as impressive, they seem to really be working on customer service. Pros: Range of styles available, good prices, frequent sales, on-site alterations. The staff is also very nice and you can get an appointment with very short notice (same day). Cons: This location does not necessarily have as many choices as other David's locations I have visited in larger metro areas. It's also important to keep in mind that this is not an upscale boutique, so the store doesn't necessarily feel as glamorous as some others and you won't find some of the more intricate styles you may see elsewhere. Bottom line: Great place to go, particularly if you are in a tight spot (i.e. dress problems) or on a budget. read more

Being that I had zero idea of what I actually wanted for a wedding dress, I decided David's would be a safe place to start my bridal search. I made the appointment online and my matron of honor drove in from Illinois for moral support. When we arrived, we were quickly checked in and introduced to the consultant, Carmen. She gave me a quick rundown of the dress buying process and some dates to keep in mind, then sent us to the racks on our own. For a store with bridal in the name, I was surprised they didn't have more to choose from. However, there's definitely something for every budget including a sale rack. I immediately realized most of the options I'd been perusing online were not available in store, so we pulled a few that would at least narrow down a silhouette. After trying these on, we had two fairly solid options but nothing I was 100% thrilled with. Carmen was able to do a little more follow up research from there about what I might keep an eye for on their website and offered a few more last minute suggestions before sending us on our way. The appointment was scheduled for an hour and a half, but we walked out of there in under an hour. While at times it was a little rushed for my liking, I'm not sure that they would've had enough dresses to keep me longer. I appreciated that Carmen wasn't pushy about making a sale, especially since I have plenty of time before I have to lock something down. My biggest disappointment was selection and the fact that they can't order website dresses for you to try, but Carmen did say they get new styles almost weekly. I'll still possibly buy a dress here, but don't expect a nice bridal experience like you would from a boutique salon. read more

OUTSTANDING!!! I am in a wedding this Friday and am pregnant. As of the Monday before, I can no longer zip up my size 2 bridesmaid dress! I called my local David's Bridal in California they located a size 4 in Iowa for me but they were closed. The next day, the opening manager Mina exchanged my dress, called the Iowa store, and had them pull it to overnight to me. They could not be more helpful, patient, courteous and polite. The dress arrived Thursday morning and was a perfect fit for the Friday wedding! I cannot say enough for the outstanding customer service I have received. Thank you SOO much!!! read more

We received great customer service the day of our appointment, as my bridesmaids were searching for dresses. That's about where the positive experience ends. The store is rather unorganized and it seemed as though there were constantly different people on staff. The store manager was kind of harsh and not overly friendly; primarily to her own employees. I found her employee reprimands to be uncalled for, given the fact she was doing this in front of customers. There were a few miscommunications over the course of the 6 months leading up to my final visit, but nothing that couldn't be handled. The dye job on my bridal shoes was terrible and I didn't even wear them. The shoes couldn't be exchanged because the style had been discontinued (not even 5 months after purchasing them). Their return policy is ridiculous, but the selection and prices are decent. read more

Horrible customer service. I made an appointment, knew the bridesmaid dress I needed to get but I still had no help once they gave me the sizes to try on. I had to walk to the front to get someone to help zip me in. I was there 30 minutes and the the lady at the counter, who had checked me in, didn't remember even my first name. We had a family outing for my sister's wedding dress shopping. Carmen was our consultant for the day. She was great - she listened to my sister's likes/dislikes on anything she tried on, and from there took all the good parts of the previously-tried-on-dresses and came back with an incredible dress that looked like it was just made for my sister. Now, yes, I realize Carmen is a salesperson. However, she would point out if something that the family liked was over budget, and really stayed in the price range of what my sister was looking for. And, in the end, we all started crying when my sister tried on that perfect dress, and even Carmen shed a few tears. She was a great consultant, and really added to the daunting task of wedding dress shopping. David's Bridal does have many types of dresses, in many sizes, in stock. You could see women of all shapes and sizes in the entire store trying on wedding, bridesmaid, prom dresses (not all at once, of course!). Makes the process much easier, so you have an idea of what the dress will look like on your body. Great experience, I highly recommend it if you are in the market for bridal/bridal party shopping. Also a fun shoe selection, Vera Wang gowns and shoes, and some fun bride/groom tees, tanks, hats, etc. read more

Unbelievably rude service. First thing I was asked walking in.... can we help you? Like what else would I be there for? I told them I was looking for bridal gowns. The asked if I had an appointment which I didn't. They said " well feel free to look around, please don't pull any dress off the rack. If you find one you want to try on let us know and IF someone is available we can help you otherwise we can schedule you an appointment to come back another time." I live an hour away so that won't be happening. Besides there was only one customer in the store trying on dresses and at least 3 staff members. How would you nit have time for me. Second I looked through the store and not once did any associate ask if I needed help. I saw a dress on a mannequin that I liked. I looked at it for about 5 min before a staff member asked if I needed help. Showed me where to find the dress and walked away. Third, the store is way to chaotic.and unorganized. It's very overwhelming. I felt like I was in the goodwill of bridal shops. I had enough so I googled other bridal shops nearby and drove 20 miles down the road to Hopes Bridal.... had a much better experience and found my dress. Don't go to Davids. That is not how a bride should feel. They are a joke! read more

This place was terrible. My sister (the bride) had her first appt double booked so by the time she tried on 3 dresses the girl next to her who had a different consultant tried on 6 dresses. Then thy double booked her fitting appt so she got bumped. They sent me the complete wrong bridesmaids dress and when I called they acted like it was my fault. The service at this David's Bridal is fantastic! I was blown anyway with how nice and helpful they are there. I visited this store twice to try on bridal gowns. Each time the girls where very nice and friendly. They pulled some gowns for me, and I also walked around and pulled a few myself. What I liked the most was that they were not pushy here. They didn't try to get me into a dress I didn't love. i didn't feel pressured to buy any dress at all. Which is really nice! That was one thing I was worried about when shopping at a chain store. There selection at this store left a little to be desired. I found a lot of dresses on their website that were not available to be tried on in store. Which was disappointing. The prices are reasonable for the dresses as well. It's hard to find a dress over $1000 in the place. Which wasn't a bad thing for me. Overall this place is great with service, but not so well with what they have in stock. I didn't end up finding my gown there, but may go back for bridesmaids dresses or accessories. read more

Not sure why an appointment was even necessary at this store. The minute the sales person discovered we were there only for 2 flower girls dresses and not a gown or bridesmaid dresses, we were written off. We rarely saw her and when we did, she was condescending and rude. She acted as though we had waited too long to order, therefore she couldn't help us. The wedding was 11 weeks out. She was reluctant to let us know whether the dresses we were interested in were even available by our date, saying she couldn't do that unless we actually ordered them. Really? Because another salesperson then confirmed YES we could order them online, they were available, and they would be shipped to my house in plenty of time. I almost wish I hadn't found anything I liked there -- I hate giving this business to a store whose employees made me feel like I didn't matter. read more

I wish I would have been able to write a review sooner, but married life has been busy! Its been almost a year since my bridesmaids and shopped here for our dresses. The staff was rude from the get-go. First of all, we booked the time for our party to try on dresses about 3 months prior, not that it mattered. We were quickly rushed through the dresses. We had about 10 minutes to look before the girl assigned to our party told us we had to decide quickly, and rushed us off to the dressing room. After we got there she was NOWHERE to be found. My girls were all trying on the different styles and she didn't come by once- apparently she was helping another party that was more interesting than ours. Finally after about an hour one of my bridesmaids grabbed her attention and asked her what we were supposed to do next. Being it was our first shop, we weren't sure what we were supposed to be doing after we had picked out a few styles. She got very annoyed and begrudgingly took our measurements. Luckily, we found a few that we liked and it was the only time i could get my girls together so we ended up getting a few. I do wish that the staff would not have rushed us through, and been more helpful. It would have made my special day a lot better. I hope they have a better staff this year, but if you ask me- go somewhere local, not a big-box chain. This is your special time, and you deserve to be treated as such! read more

I was treated so terribly as a new-hire. I was there for 2 weeks. I never received proper training, and was scheduled on my own after 2 days on an iPad. I had a family emergency, of which my family received devastating news. I wanted to obviously let my manager know that I would not be able to come in to work that day, but had no way of reaching her as it was before business hours. I messaged her on Facebook, of which I only received a "thumbs up." I apologized for being unprofessional, as I know that a Facebook message is not a proper way to reach your boss- however, I wanted to be sure to let her know I was unable to work that day, rather than just not showing. She did not care to reach out to me about my family. I tried to update her on the situation later on in the day, and she read my message without responding. I called her to update her on the fact that work was not in the picture for me anymore, as I needed to take care of myself and my family. She did not respond to me on the phone. I told her I don't think I will be able to work due to the news that we have received. She replied "it's fine." And hung up. I am absolutely disgusted at the way I was treated. If I were there for longer, I could understand why she would be so awful to me.. however I wasn't even there long enough to have a locker or a name badge. I do realize that it is not ideal to have someone quit so sudden. But I did offer to finish out the week and got not response. Just quiet at the other end of the line. So thank you to the store manager for making a terrible situation even more awful with your lack of compassion. I hope that this can change in the future, as DB is truly a great place- just a few bad apples. read more

Alterations costs are exorbitant and you often have to settle for less than what you wanted because they don't carry all the fabrics. Also. Shoes! They don't have your size so you can't try them on to confirm proper fit. They will order them in but you have to buy them before they order them in and all sales are final so you're screwed if they don't fit. Dumb! Went here on a Sunday afternoon without an appointment. We were able to book one within two hours. It was perfect because we were able to go through the racks and pick out dresses that would be tried on at the appointment. The ladies were SPECTACULAR! The customer service we received was excellent. Our bridal consultant, Bree was nothing short of amazing. She had a great attitude, was friendly, and beyond helpful. Most of all, she was down to earth and offered great support to our bride to be. Despite other reviews that have been negative, this place rocked! We went here looking for bridesmaid dresses and our consultant was extremely rude. She would disappear for 10-20 minutes then run back and cut in front of me to zip and hook dresses. It wasn't like she was trying to be helpful either, it was as if I wasn't allowed to do it myself. She also kept eaves dropping into our conversation and offering her rude opinion on what we were saying (I just told my sister when I got my veil they said floor samples are the same price as brand new even though they have been worn, which is the truth on all accounts, and she interrupts me with a super rude tone "well we sell from the floor so it's not like they have been around forever". Ok? I wasn't arguing, or trying to get a discount on my already purchased veil, I was talking to my sister and not her!!). The store wasn't even busy, there was maybe one other girl in there looking at bridal gowns so there was no need for her attitude or for her to disappear then run back to us for 5 minutes and be rude then leave again. I would not recommend this store, at all! Go anywhere else if you want to have a fun experience picking out your bridal outfits. read more

Called for an appointment during a time of year that isn't popular with brides, was scheduled three hours later than I wanted. We arrived the day of the appointment a bit early and were told we could look around but not touch any dresses until our consultant was there. Ended up they were running behind so we waited 45 minutes before I could even touch a dress. In addition all the dresses I'd picked out online were not even carried in the store. I had a great experience looking for a wedding gown. They did not have the ones I saw online which was a little disappointing but I ended up finding one that I love! I also wish you didn't have to pay for it all up front our get a store credit card. It's hard for someone that lives pay check to pay check come up with such a large amount. Do not under any circumstances go to this store. They are beyond rude and refused to help one of my bridesmaids who was getting fitted for her dress for my Chicago wedding. David's Bridal told her that they would only measure her if I had ordered the dresses through them. Little did they know that I had an appt for this saturday at a Chicago location to order my junior bridesmaids and flower girl dresses; well not anymore! It's bridal industry ettiquette that a bridesmaid should be able to get measured the same as a groomsmen should be able to for a tux. So unprofessional. The store has a good variety of dresses and that is really nice, also the prices are pretty cheap so that's a plus too. The retail staff were okay. I do not like how they shove everyone trying things on, onto one side of the store. It is really crowded and seems unnecessary when there's half the store and dressing rooms not being used. Also, If I make an Appointment I would expect the consultant to be with me and just me. Every time I went there they were consulting two different people. This left me doing everything on my own or having my mom help me-so what's the point of the appointment? Lastly, the store is not that nice, they should look at the newer David's Bridal Stores and upgrade. read more

The only good thing about David's bridal is having bridesmaids able to have access to their dress when they are across the US. When I went with my mom to try on some dresses I shared my sales girl with another bride whos appointment was before me. I went mid week so it was not crowded with "bridezillas" I was introduced to my sales associate and told to browse and she would be back ( we saw her for maybe 5 min , total time in the store a hour)...after picking out 3 dresses. I carried all of the dresses to my room and my mom helped me into them. I'm OK with not being bothered while shopping but at least stop by to ask me for sizes ! I couldn't remember where half the dresses were to change sizes. We left to go to a non Walmart bridal store. read more

I officially began my gown shopping yesterday, and had my bridal appointment with Lindsey. Prior to the appointment, I went onto the shop's website and added my favorite gowns to my account, which were then printed and pulled during my fittings. The shop only had maybe 4 or 5 of my 9 favorite dresses though :( I was strapped into a bra and slip, then began my fittings. Lindsey was a great help: very sweet, helpful, and offered lots of advice and answered my questions. Two other gals at the shop, Michelle and Sarah, stopped by frequently to offer their advice as well and give me feedback on the dresses. I found a mid-thigh length dress to wear post-ceremony; I fell in love with it online and I can even wear it for other occasions. Of the full-length gowns I tried on, I only liked one of them, so then Lindsey and the gals started putting jewelry on me, plus veils, shoes, and headpieces. For a first-time gown shopper, I think this move was a bit too much and was probably what made me want to wrap things up. I deducted one star because I kind of feel like the gals weren't really listening to me. I did not go into this appointment with the intention of finding "the dress". I only wanted to try on gowns to find what style and fit I like. It was so much information though! I mean, why not pull all of the dresses from my favorites list instead of pulling things they think I might like? I kind of felt that they were pushing me to go to the "traditional" route with a floor-length gown and the pile of accessories, which I don't want. I knew I wanted the short dress, and I had to mention it a few times before it was pulled. Overall, I received great service from all of the gals. My consultant was helping another bride as well, but it was no issue. I did find my short dress that I absolutely love (it might even wind up being "the dress")! My only complaint is the large amount of information and gown/accessory possibilities that were thrown at me; I only wanted to get my feet wet and I feel like I was dunked! If I were going to the traditional route, my visit would have been perfect; however, my fiancé and I are taking a more casual and low-key route--the simpler, the better. read more

I don't know what time of day other people went to this particular location in that they received such poor service. My experience was extremely pleasant. I went in on a Tuesday evening, but I did happen to be the only person in the store, so my stylist was able to give me all of her attention. The girl who greeted me was friendly enough, and my stylist Rhiannan was just fantastic. So enthusiastic and accommodating, and I would honestly go back just for her. She wasn't pushy, gave great recommendations, and she listened to my concerns (I'm very short and very small, so alterations are inevitable). I will say, the selection of dresses is pretty limited and I don't really know why, I didn't ask (hopefully their inventory will be updated soon). The one dress I was hoping to try on was not available, but I was able to find a dress by the same designer to get an idea of sizing. Again, my experience was optimal and I have only been there once so far, so I can't say for sure the true nature of this store. But if you happen to get paired with Rhiannan, I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

The trying-on experience of my bridesmaid's dress for my friend's wedding was very smooth - the staff were on time with my appointment that I had pre-booked. The check-out experience was wonderful. The new manager Stacy did everything possible to honor current online promotions as well as have my dress shipped to me because I live out of town. Went to David's Bridal to try on wedding gowns. Felt like I was at JC Penny browsing on my own. No one told us how the gowns were organized, or gave us any direction. No advise was offered nor did the staff make any dress recommendations based on the descriptions I gave for what I was looking for. It is true that Davids Bridal has many dresses to choose from but when it came to actually shopping; I was not pleased. Let me start off by saying the consultant I had was not the nicest of people. I couldn't even find her when I needed her to be there. Also, when I called to ask when their $99 dress sale was going to take place. The lady on the phone said she didn't have that information. I later find out on their website that it was currently taking place. I am still not completely satisfied with the staff there, but I loved the selection of dresses. read more

We purchased bridesmaid dresses from the Cedar Rapids David's Bridal store and had a terrible experience. The gal fitting us, sized everyone 1 up to many sizes too big. When some of the girls asked to size down she was reluctant to give us the sizes we needed. She also shouted out sizes for the entire store to hear. It was a waste of time to measure us. I am assuming this is a scheme to use their alterations department which was just money down the drain. I spent close to $100 in alterations, and my hem was unraveling after only being in my dress for an hour, my breast cups were hardly stitched in and not in the right placement, and my halter with a t-back had to be altered which broke by the end of the night making it only a halter at that point while all the other bridesmaids were still t-back halters. VERY DISAPPOINTED and would not recommend them to anyone. I would advise to go someplace else. read more

A friend of mine was shopping and we had her daughter with us. The lady who took care of us was amazing and helpful. It was her co worker kat who was disrespectful to my friend she had said yes to her dress the whole time she was trying on dresses the co worker Kat made rude comments about her being in the way even though she was in front of her own dressing room. Than the bridal party proceeded to try on different styles. Mean while the lady who had the coworker Kat had a 2 yr old little girl who was playing with the brides daughter they weren't causing any trouble as the bridal party was trying on Dresses we came out of the dressing room to our bride in tears. Kat had made rude comments about her daughter to the point of making her so upset she ended up crying herself to sleep. We asked to speak to the manager and all she did was blow us off and make it sound like Kat did nothing wrong. We left very upset and I will never return. Kat was cruel and mean we spent 5 hrs there pick king put dresses and we're forced to leave because she couldn't keep her rude comments to herself. And management would keep backing that kind of behaviour. Never have I seen someone disrespected in this manner in a business. It's ridiculous read more

First time I went and really don't have anything nice to say, I told them what I was looking for and so did my daughter. They kept ignoring my daughter and we're getting upset cause I didn't like what they were bringing me so the girl went and got another one to help and again my daughter was trying to explain the type of dress I liked and they didn't care to listen to her or me. Every dress they brought was nothing I asked for or liked so it's like they didn't care to help anymore. She was very rude and didn't act like she even cared and my daughter seen her roll her eyes a few times. After about an hour of them ignoring myself and my daughter ( of the type of dress we were looking for) I said lets go. When we left they all watched us walk out of the door with Not Even a Thank You for coming Im Sorry we couldn't help, NOTHING. It Left a very bad taste for what I think of Davids Bridal. They need to take lessons on Customer Service, it's very stressful finding a dress let alone having to go to a store and the staff DONT CARE AND MAKE YOU FEEL UNWANTED!!! read more
