I'm honestly not even sure where to start.. I am in my best friends' wedding and we made an appointment for a dress fitting so we could pick her dress and all of our bridesmaid dresses. Our consultant literally smelled SO bad that we had to hold our breath while she took our mesurements. She was an asbolute sweetheart and really knew her stuff, but it was absolutely horrible having to be around her. When we went to check out, the minute they realized we weren't ordering our dresses that same day we were given nothing but attitude. Jordan, the bride, got an email saying her dress came early and drove the whole hour to go get it- and it wasn't even her dress. It was the slip that goes UNDER the dress! When the bridesmaids called to place their orders, we were only met with attitudes and obstacles. One of the bridesmaids called to order and was told it was too late and it wouldn't get here in time. When she went online to order the EXACT same dress instead of doing it on the phone, it said she was going to get it in UNDER a couple weeks!!! She called back to ask why it would be different (we wanted to give them the commission) and they told her if she ordered it online it probably won't fit correctly.......... WHAT? She placed the order and a couple days later she gets a random email saying for some reason the order was CANCELED. She called customer service and was told that all they needed was a code from the store in order to get it to her in time for the wedding... If she hadn't called and asked why they would have just canceled the order and left her without a dress! Nothing but bad experiences and bad attitudes from this location. Worst experience ever with davids bridal (at least online). I ordered a brides maid dress 5/2/24 which had an expected delivery date of 6/27, before and after I ordered the dress which would have been perfect because I needed it for a wedding I was going to be in 7/6. The closer it got I tried calling customer service because when I checked the order online it kept saying preparing. First of all you cannot reach anyone on the phone from customer service, the automated thing hangs up on you and tells you to text them. The First Lady I texted with like 1.5 weeks before I needed the dress said she saw it on her end it was still showing expected delivery date of 6/27. The week of it still said preparing the dress so I texted to cancel because again you can't talk to a real person on the phone. Sooo annoying. So the person canceled the order and said I would get my refund in 7-10 days. Well we are on day 9 and still nothing. I text yet again and get someone who can't help and says I should hear back from someone who can help in 24-48 hours. I will NEVER go through David's bridal again and will not be recommending them either. Worst customer service and experience ever read more

Do not purchase your dress from this store. I purchased my wedding gown from here because the price was right. But I was ignored and handed a catalog to pick out a dress that might look good on me. If I was going to do that why would I go to a store with a consultant? My maid of honor tried on an extra long dress and when the consultant ordered the dress in a regular. When she called the store the consultant said there was absolutely no way she tried on an extra long. She PROMISED and assured her there was absolutely no way. After begging the consultant to check the sales floor with the color and dress model sure enough it was an extra long. She apologize and said she wished she could do something but couldn't. I went to David's Brdial with a large group of women (my bridal party) to look at wedding dresses for myself for my wedding in fall 2023. Mary V, a stylist at Dartmouth David's Bridal, met us at the front and went through how the store is organized by collections and gave descriptions of each collection. Mary was super patient with my very busy-bodied party and was quick on her feet to answer questions and to accommodate dresses with sleeves, veils, headpieces, etc. I was very worried about trying dresses on- it's not really my thing- and Mary V was giving words of encouragement and kindness while helping me in and out of dresses the whole time! She truly helped me get out of my own head and be present! Mary V pointed out that I hadn't tried any dresses of a particular style on, and that I should try at least one on of that style to know if I'd like it or not. I never even imagined trying that particular style on because I'm pretty self conscious and felt it would show off insecurities. She left the dressing room and had picked one out for me in that style I was shying away from that matched the boho/ rustic vibe I was going with. When I tried that dress on and walked out of the dressing room everyone gasped! Myself included. Mary V then put sleeves on the dress to show me what it would look like (since I wanted sleeves), gave me a veil and headpiece, stepped back and smiled. She knew! I ended up saying yes to the dress Mary V had picked out for me to try on- something way out of my comfort zone. it was perfect. She made lots of sugestions and was so knowledgeable with the different desings and how they would look on my daughter. She treated my us like family. What once was a 5 star review, is now a 1 star review. If I could give zero stars, I would. I now see why they have you rate your experience in the store, with the sales person two feet away from you. I purchased a beautiful wedding gown for an amazing price! I was thrilled... until I realized that the price to alter the dress was quadruple the price of the dress! Upon learning the cost to alter the dress, I realized that the cost to purchase and alter a better fitting dress would make more sense financially. Based on what the sales woman at David's told me during checkout, I understood that I would not be able to return/exchange the original dress. I was okay with that. She explained to me in GREAT DETAIL that that sale was FINAL. At that point, my thought was "shame on me for not buying a better fitting dress to begin with." ... I felt that I deserved to eat the cost of the initial purchase because I failed to think it through even though the sales women stressed the fact that the sale was final. Fast forward three months: I am sharing my story of how I needed up with two wedding gowns to a friend of a friend. This person looked very confused and stated that the sale is not final and suggested that I take it back to exchange it. Excitedly, I call David's to confirm. The Manager looked at my account and then stated that I could have exchanged it if I was with the three month window. I expressed that I was told the sale was final and just learned that I could exchange it. She nonchalantly tells me "well, we say the sale is final and that you can't return or exchange it, but we actually give you a three month window to exchange." Unfortunately for me, I am two weeks late! Two weeks late because the woman at the register gave me false information! I was completely okay with absorbing this cost when I believed it was my fault.I am not okay with absorbing a cost because a sales women decided to share inaccurate information. Misleading customers into keeping items that they have no use for is wrong and distasteful. I will be sure to share this story on every platform available. I went to this David's Bridal this past weekend to purchase a bridesmaid dress along with 2 other bridesmaids and the bride and had an awful experience. The associate (can not recall her name) that was assigned to help her took every opportunity to point out how tall I am (i'm 6'-1"). I then became the butt of all her jokes - everything from "I bet you don't have trouble getting things off the top shelf" , "Where do you buy pants for legs that long", and "you'll have to get an extra long dress, we don't have any here for people like you" (people like who?! :( )....and on and on and on. I was so embarrassed, upset, and shocked by her behavior. It completely ruined the entire experience and by the end of the appointment I was practically in tears. I can't believe someone would make comments like this about a paying customer - would you point out how fat someone is and then make jokes about them? or short? etc? It's simply unacceptable. I would cut this woman some slack if it was a one and done joke, but it went on and on the entire time I was there... I loathe the fact that I had to purchase a dress here and dread having to go back and pick it up! I will never purchase anything else here. This David's Bridal is a crap show! Why do i have to make an appointment if my "consultant" is working with 4-5 other women/girls at the same time. Im buying a WEDDING DRESS and i have to deal with the prissy high school girl's attitude while she huffs and puffs waiting to get into a dressing room. FOR A HIGH SCHOOL DANCE. Like your joking right? And then i have to wait 20+ mins for you to bring back a head piece because you share a consultant with wayy to many people. The selection or wedding dresses is sub par. Their bridesmaid dresses are non existent. I wont even go into the details on how rude the cashier was when my order when ready to be picked up. All in all its a notch or two up from Debs (remember that store where plus size was on one side and " regular" sizes were on the other). David's bridal in Dartmouth was a great, stress free process from beginning to end! I found my dress on my first visit. I also had my alterations done there by Aleluia. Everything is PERFECT. Fits so good. Bustle is gorgeous. I could not be happier! Aleluia handled all my requests wonderfully and made me feel like she was happy to do so! All while making me feel comfortable and heard. It takes A LOT for me to publicly "bash" a business... but here it goes. David's bridal in Dartmouth, MA.... N E V E R trust them with your dress! My sister (bridesmaid) purchased a Vera Wang dress with gorgeous chest pleats, in the color Biscotti! It came in and was perfect minus the straps being slightly too big. The chest area by the armpits was bulging due to the straps being simply too long.... so thinking with such simple adjustments, nothing could go wrong. Fast forward 4 weeks later, we go to pick it up and it is a DISASTER. The pleats are gone, there is a stain right in the middle of her chest, and they sewed the armpit bulging one side up and one side down, visibility noticeable that something is wrong... they claim they can fix it and to come back the next day. We went back the following day to be yelled at and told to come back another day they were too busy to deal with us.... Called the next day and were told to come in. The dress was so badly altered we BOTH were crying! The manager called over a new seamstress who spent 35 minutes pinning different parts of the dress who claims she can fix it.... we get a call 4 days later to come back and try it on... A W F U L. The stain went from a penny to a half dollar. The straps still don't fit and they took the WAIST IN WHEN IT WASNT NEEDED!! We are now five days until my wedding and the only thing they have done is said "call our 1-800 number and hope for compensation... we can't do anything but make the stainS (yes they made another stain!) worse... the dress isn't great but it's not bad either, sorry" PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NEVER GO TO THIS FACILITY! If it wasn't for bridesmaids being out of state i never would've gone there... this is a nightmare. read more

It's too bad this is the only David's Bridal in my area. And it's too bad that DB'a dresses are the only affordable ones around. I am a bride and I went to DB one weekend to try on dresses. It was my first time in their store. The store was extremely busy, but I get it. It's prom, graduation, and wedding season. However I was upset that my appointment was double booked. I did not get the full attention I deserved from 'Michelle'. She was running back and forth between me and the other bride. As if the double booking wasn't bad enough, Michelle's attitude and demeanor could not have been worse. I felt as though she is not compassionate about her job. A woman's wedding day is one of the most important days of her life, and you expect the consultant to feel at least a little more enthusiastic about it. I did not end up finding my dress at DB. A few weeks later, I set up an appointment for my bridesmaids to try on dresses. This time we were not double booked and it wasn't as crowded, but we had Michelle again. And again with the same monotone presence, my girls and I did not feel as though we were getting the treatment we deserved. After my girls ordered their dresses, it seems like each of them had an individual problem afterwards. One of my girls got a call that her dress was in and ready to be picked up. She asked if she could wait for the rest of the girls dresses came in to pick it up, so they could all try it on together. She was rudely told that 'if we did that for everyone, we would have so many dresses waiting' and that she had just 7 days to pick it up. Another one of my girls went to pick up her dress and they couldn't find it because they wrote down the wrong last name as her, but I remember Michelle asking them to spell it for her. After they gave her the dress we had to ask if it was okay to try it on in store. They said yes, but didn't help her try it on. The lady disappeared after that. And finally,my last girl to pick up her dress was basically fat shamed. She got a voicemail claiming that the dress had came in - on April 26th - and that she needed to pick it up ASAP. However, this was the first phone call (on May 6th) that she had got about it being ready. So she goes in to get the dress. She asks to try it on in store and they say yes - but do not help her zip it up. She has to go out on to the floor with her open dress looking for help. There she found employees sitting around doing nothing. When she asked for help, one employee complained that she hasn't had her break yet. When one finally helped her, she made my friend feel uncomfortable. She had just eaten dinner and she was a bit bloated, so the dress was a little snug on her. The woman asked in a rude tone 'how much longer until the wedding' insinuating that she didn't have much time to fit in this dress. It took them 10 minutes to find her dress because her name was spelled wrong as well. Overall, I am not at all impressed with this David's Bridal location. Hire less miserable people. I am giving them 2 stars because all my girls dresses look perfect on them and were delivered at a reasonable time. read more

I was searching for a ball gown for my husband's navy ball and I was able to find a dress that was beautiful and affordable. The alterations department was the best hands down. They helped me schedule an appointment that would work with my work schedule. Alleluia was kind and she altered my dress perfectly! If I could post 0 stars I would. These people are the most unprofessional group of consultants I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I went there several times and have had a bad experience each time. The first time I went, they forgot my appointment and booked our spot so everyone got there and were not able to be worked with. The second time I went with my mother and it seemed like they got back on the ball so I bought my dress there. Then the issues really came. They ignore you after you have already purchased your wedding gown and haven't a care in the world when working with the bridesmaids. They cancelled my appointments twice for my bridesmaids. After when I finally got there with an appointment available they did little but tell me what they could not help me with. I finally found a dress of reasonable cost and looked gorgeous on my girls so we went with that. I asked a bunch of questions including "When should they purchase or order?" and the woman responded that they could come in anytime and purchase it. All they had to do was give the consultants my name and everything would be fine. Everything was far from fine. They did not explain how far in advance the dresses should be purchased even though I had asked, and lost all of my information as well as had all of my bridesmaids names wrong. I came in 3 months before the wedding with my last bridesmaid since she had a baby recently and she tried to purchase the dress. They proceeded to tell me my dress was unavailable and there was nothing I could do about it. I explained my situation and told them that most people purchase their dresses around 3 months prior and they said it recently became a high demand and they had no idea I intended to keep these dresses. REALLY?!? The fact that two other bridesmaids had already purchased them made these people think I had no intention of these dresses being in my wedding? I fought with the associate for an hour and after they said they could do nothing to help me, they finally said well I suppose you can get them online... SO after realizing they were not going to get commission they then gave in to the idea of online ordering. These people do not care if they make a mistake, they will not discount anything to help you, they will not try to fix their mistake. They will simply tell you your screwed and to deal with it. This place needs to get some better management and some more staff! I came in one day for an appointment and had only ONE girl helping me, another bride, and a bridesmaid party. The manager came to check in every once in a while but this poor girl was all by herself for at least an hour and a half. Nothing against her, but I kind of felt rushed and left out because she had to deal with so many things going on at the same time that I didn't get a lot of attention. The manger there would go up to the consultant and say something very hushed and serious then put on a beaming smile and act super friendly with me just to go back to being grumpy with the consultant seconds later. So fake! I liked the gowns I tried on and the things they had in the store and I did make another appointment to come back before I left the store, but the fact that they had only one girl working the floor by herself put me off. This place obviously values their money more than their employees because if they had any common sense they'd put more than one person on for 3 appointments at the same time. We'll see how my next appointment goes. If you do end up going here, don't be surprised when they're understaffed and you're not getting any help. They need to step up their game. read more

If I could award this store zero stars I would. I typically do not write reviews about stores, however my experience here was so heartbreaking and unbelievable I could not keep it to myself, as I feel they need to adjust something within the store to prevent situations like mine from ever happening again. I had ordered a bridesmaid dress for my best friends wedding and I had continuously called to check on the status as I was curious as to why it was taking so long to come in. Each time I called they answered me by looking me up in the system and then being told that it is not in yet and I would be called when it was in the store. Recently I called as the wedding is now only a month away and they had told me that the dress had never been ordered. All the other bridesmaids had received their dresses at this point. I was in awe. I had spoken with two managers for multiple days trying to get my dress here in time for the wedding. They would not admit it was their fault. They offered no compensation, their suggestions were well how about another style or order a dress in a bigger size and get it altered. I was then told that the larger dress was no longer an option, and having a different style dress was troublesome because all the bridesmaids had the same style dresses and I didn't want to make myself the odd man out, adding stress to the bride. The service I received on the phone was poor, I cannot stress this enough. No apology, not once. They continuously laughed on the other end when they clearly knew it was a stressful situation. They argued, told me I had no options so I would have to deal with it. I was interrupted multiple times while trying to solve this issue. In the end I didn't even care if they admitted it was their fault, I simply wanted to figure out a way to get the dress, that was my goal. I ended up not using Davids bridal and apologizing to the bride. We have since gone to another company. I will never use David's Bridal in Dartmouth again, nor will my children. I have had such a bad experience that I am disappointed and heart broken. They need better communication within the store and with customers. Customer service was lacking drastically. I would be very upset if my staff acted the way that the staff here act. What a shame. read more

I finally found my dress! Desiree was so wonderful. My mom and I walked into the store with an idea of what we were looking for. We had been to three other dress boutiques and had gotten down to two dresses at each of them, but I still just couldn't decide on a dress. So I thought I just wasn't going to have one of those YES moments. But I had one! Desiree was so patient with me and helped me try on the most perfect dress. Both my mom and I are just crazy about it. There was no pressure, only lots of love. It may be a small store but that doesn't mean it won't have the perfect dress for you. Thank you so so much. My husband and I are hosting a prom for our 50th birthdays. I pulled several dresses from the racks that I thought would suit me. I was not finding anything that wowed me. Skylah and Deana asked if they could bring some dresses they thought would look great on me. I was skeptical with their choices as they were nothing I would have chosen. But they both saw that I was trying on the wrong styles of dress. I chose a dress that Skylah picked out.... it looked amazing and I felt great in it. Horrible experience. I made an appointment (as suggested by the staff) and felt like it was a cattle call. Very limited assistance from the lady 'assigned' to helping me & my future in-laws find wedding attire. There are no mirrors in the fitting rooms & must 'show' yourself to everyone just to get an idea of what their dresses look like on. I ended up making a purchase for a rehearsal dress, which was dropped onto the floor by the manager 3 times! I also attempted to order a few items online, Through the store manager, who took over a half an hour to 'figure out' the computer & completed my order incorrectly! Absolutely terrible. I made an appointment at North Dartmouth for my maid of honor to try on a few dresses this past Sunday. When I got there I was greeted with "you can't sign in until she gets here so just look around." Understandable, but yet so unprofessionally worded. Then I overheard then talking about who was supposed to take my appointment. It turned into confusion and no one knew who was supposed to be my consultant. Long story short, I ended up with Ginger. I say "ended up" with deliberately. She was one of the most inattentive, rude people I've ever met. The first thing she said to me, before even saying hello or congratulations on the upcoming nuptials, was "When's the wedding? Oh might as well be tomorrow" and rolled her eyes. My wedding is four months away. So frustrating. The whole appointment proceeded with her pulling dresses that my moh specifically said she didn't like the style of, or pulling dresses my moh had already tried on just 15 minutes earlier. On top of that, there was a young woman trying on wedding dresses with another consultant and Ginger spent her time pulling veils for her and criticizing the woman's style saying how awful the dress looked with the veil she liked and how the dress didn't suit her at all and that the woman had poor taste. How UNPROFESSIONAL. I was shocked. Furthermore, while she wasn't mocking the poor girl, she was on her phone on the sales floor while I was the one helping my moh in and out of dresses. Drove 3 hour round trip in the pouring rain to try on wedding dresses for my daughter and it was worth the trip! Kennedy, our appointed stylist, was amazing. My daughter tried on many dresses (went over the 90 minute scheduled time). Kennedy helped with every aspect. Honestly, we weren't planning on making a purchase but we found the perfect gown. Kennedy even took time, without an appointment, to show the Maid of Honor many dresses that would go perfectly with the wedding dress. All of the attendants will be getting a great discount on their dresses, which helps with their expenses.... Also, Davids has several payment plans.... Recommend highly!! read more

I feel really bad about this review but your wedding day is important enough for me to share my experience. The first salesperson I worked with was very high pressure. I told her my budget was 1,000 and she brought out a lot of $99-300 dresses I got the impression she was going for a quick sale. She was so pushy I ended up with a dress I hated. There is a no refund policy so I returned for an exchange. The next person I worked with was also pushy and after 2 hours she complained that it was "the longest appointment she ever had". I got discouraged and ended up spending additional money on another dress I didn't like. I ended up going somewhere else and finding the perfect dress and loved the new experience. That being said, I know someone else who had a great experience here so maybe it's about who you work with. Maybe request someone who has worked here a long time? This place is ridiculous.Bought a dress had a appointment to alter straps only.The lady started suggesting other alterations that should be done that would cost a lot more money.sending me to go find material to match the dress that was impossible to find.We did purchase the dress because my daughter was in love with the style and color, but now have to take it somewhere else to alter.Not to mention they neglected to take off security tags.Now i have to go all the way back to have them removed.Just don't understand why the alarm didn't sound.It would have saved me a trip. read more

They are under staffed but extremely helpful. I found my dress with many try ons. After I ordered my dress I was not cared about. Pick up the dress within 2 weeks or they get rid of it. Alterations are very expensive but professional. I would go there again...they aim to please. I do love my dress. read more

This place is ridiculous. I was a new customer and definitely not going back. I wanted to browse and try on dresses for my occasion. When I asked to try on, I was told to sign in. Sign in?! To try on dresses? What a waste of time! I did end up purchasing my dress from here, but had an issue with the straps and wanted them shortened. Made an appointment. At the appointment, the lady altering the dress was very hard to understand, she has a very heavy accent. All I wanted was to fix the straps and she started suggesting other things that made no sense to me and would cost me a lot more money that I do not have. To make a very long story short, I didn't end up getting it altered. I will be taking it somewhere else! Terrible experience, especially for a new customer!! read more

To be honest, David's Bridal was the only negative experience (and the only negative review) with my wedding. I had heard poor reviews before, but because my bridesmaids are in three different states, it seemed like the easiest option for our bridesmaids dresses. We went to the DB in Dartmouth, MA (which was about two hours away from where I live on Cape Cod). I had 4 out of 5 of my bridesmaids in for an appointment to shop. Two ladies waited on us (because they had a shift change and one attendant left for the day). One was very helpful, the other was clearly just there for the money and didn't actually seem interested in helping. Regardless, we found a very popular dress in a blush pink. We had to use our imaginations a bit as the colors, styles, and sizes were limited. The ladies were measured, we provided our contact information, and were told they could order and pick up dresses online and/or at any DB in the country. A few months later, I called DB to double check on the dress color (to make sure their sister store Men's Wearhouse could match the groomsmen), only to find out that they had lost all of our information. The girl I spoke to on the phone was very unprofessional and went "that's so weird you must have just disappeared from the computer! Haha". I wasn't laughing. My ladies had to each individually go back to the store, get re-measured, re-order the dress, and then wait for expensive alterations. When I went in to speak to them, they told me that it didn't matter because "a woman's body changes so much" that the measurements (from less than 6 months ago) wouldn't have counted anyways so they couldn't give us a discount for their error. Needless to say, I was livid. They offered free shipping (and then messed up the shipping and sent it to the store for pick up anyways). Due to the confusion, a couple of my bridesmaids ordered the wrong style dress and had to pay to rush ship the right one. David's Bridal might sound like a convenient and affordable option, but DO NOT shop here. My experience was absolutely terrible from start to finish. read more
