I first came here to this cool place called David's Gallery in 2013, they have been around for more than 20 years, hurricane Sally decimated their long-time original location beyond repair so they have moved. While the waterfront and cool Zen garden are gone this new place is bigger and better, with more of the cool stuff, all around. (they do have a huge peace sign on the lawn so there's that) They store is locally owned and operated, it's very clean, regularly sanitized, organized and well-stocked and a very pleasant environment and shopping experience. I like to go with, their self-proclaimed moniker, of a one-stop hippie boutique, it fits for sure :-) They are a local CBD retailer, from oils to edibles and more with smoking accessories and vaporizers, incense, clothing, band t-shirts, lots of tie-dyes, flags, candles, body jewelry, banners, and a lot more. This is not a souvenir or head shop it's kinda what I stated, it's like a cool hippie shop for old hippies, like me, and a cool place for the younger folk who weren't fortunate enough to be around and cool in the sixties :-) (Did I mention there are tattoos and piercings :-) Bottom line: Today's visit was really great and as always the staff is great and very helpful! I even picked up some CBD jerky that was on sale and got a couple of tie-dye face masks, thank you Covid, and #1 son found some of his favourite incense and I will be returning here regularly for sales and new arrivals. I've gone here for multiple piercings. The first rejected, which I thought was fine. But I showed the girl who did the second and she admitted he put it in the wrong spot initially causing it to reject. I continued on with a cartilage piercing, but they put in cheap jewelry. I had to have it removed and seen by an ENT to drain. All around, just don't go here for a piercing or you will be disappointed and spend way more in the long run. read more

Awesome staff, very clean shop!!! Stephanie greeted us and made sure we were happy and comfortable as we got ready for our appointment. I went for a tattoo and the artist Gary worked with my friends and I to make sure it was perfect. I'm talking, he re-stenciled and moved it to different spots about five times, without even blinking an eye. He opened the ink and needle in front of me and showed me their dates too. This is my second tattoo and I have a handful of piercings, all from different shops. This is the single best "body modification" experience I have ever had! I would wait all year to come back here for another tattoo! My friends got henna with Angie and she was very helpful and talented as well. I had the tattoo experience we all hope for. Got my daughter and I got our first tattoo Saturday. We had Brad design and do them. He did a fabulous job. Took his time and was so gentle. It was well worth every minute and dollar. Will definitely be going back next year when we're down for my second one. The shop has a great selection too. Picked up a few things while we were waiting on each other. I can't believe this place doesn't have any reviews since I understand it's a bit of an institution in town. So - the folks up the street @ Happy Shak said Bo @ David's would be the guy to speak with about color. David's is a one-stop-shop for all your counter-culture needs... they have a shop to the left which has a whole mess of stuff. To the right, there's the tatoo shop - Bo was finishing up with a piece and soon assisted my wife and my sister - they made an apointment and were back the next day to get their work done. David's Gallery is a neat little shop that sells everything from pipes to t-shirts to neat hats and scarves. They have really cute jewelry and feature items for sale by local artists. I still have some really cool rocks I bought there in the 90's, haha! I go there every time I am in the area. read more

Lady yelled at me after I waited 10 mins for her to get off the phone to move a rope blocking the (21 and up section) At that point I was fed up and just decided to leave and this lady said yelled "yeah don't do that" when I turned around and as I was walking away she continue to tell me how she couldn't believe I would act that way crazy lady read more

Just got my nipples pierced with Angie and she was just so great! Made me feel super comfortable and relaxed (the CBD samples the cute girls in the front gave us definitely helped with that too haha). Angie was so professional and sweet and I could tell she definitely was a pro at what she does. I 100% recommend her and this business. The prices were more than fair too! Whenever I come back to Gulf Shores I will definitely be coming back to Angie again. read more

I thought the people at the DMV were rude but these people take it to a whole new level. As you walk up to the establishment, you see the stars and bars, and as you get closer you see a sign saying people of all ethnicities, sexualities, and disabilities are welcome. How ironic. That's nitpicking, but listen to,what happened next. Backstory: I'm almost legally blind, and can't read things that are far away. I unknowingly walk towards what they call the "adult room." One of the workers snapped at me, screaming that I should have read the sign. That's all well and good, except that I couldn't see it. So much for accepting people with disabilities. The place was also super crowded. I felt like a sardine in there! If you're going here, proceed with caution. There's no telling what the harpies that work there will do. read more

Davids gallery is absolutely the BEST place to go for tattoos, the people here are very hardworking and if you need something, will definitely help you get what you need. They also have multiple smoking accessories if you are into that. They're very very clean, and the employees are so so sweet!! 10/10 recommend! read more

Went here to get tattoos, nick was a great tattoo artist was very courteous and explained everything very well and completed the tattoos quickly and they looked good. However, my girlfriend was going to get one too and we paid 80$ and then she visibly panicked and decided she didn't want one. She did agree to get a cartilage piercing though so not all our money would be wasted. That piercing would have been like 40$. I asked the lady at the desk if she could get that and we would even eat the other 40$ just for the hassle we were causing. They refused and said it was too late since we had already signed the paperwork. I mean I get the fact the paperwork says no refunds, but we weren't asking for a refund. We were asking if she could get something cheaper instead and pay them way more money for it than what they were charging. It woulda taken them 5-10 min to do the peircing process and they woulda doubled their normal money. But apparently their more interested in just taking money and not offering any service at all. Bad way of doing business in my opinion. But take it how you want read more

I was wanting to get a very small tattoo (paw print on my wrist) and I arrived at around 5:00pm to check prices and availability and the artist said to come back around 8:30-9:00pm, so I did. When I got back to the shop, he was talking to some girls and smoking a cigarette on the deck, so I walked into the waiting room for my appointment. He came in very nervously and acted like he didn't recognize me at first and when he finally "recognized me", he asked if I officially made an appointment, and my husband politely told him that we had been in there earlier and he (the artist) told me to come back. He (the artist) then proceeded to say that the women on the deck had been waiting "this whole time," and then he started asking me questions and I assume he was trying to find a way to get me to leave. Then he rudely opened up his laptop, typed in "paw print" and said "here, pick one" and walked away. The artist made us feel really uncomfortable and awkward and I would not suggest giving him your money. We had to go find him to tell him not to worry about it and that we were leaving and he gave the excuse that he was "short on staff" but both times we went to the shop, he was hanging out with friends and smoking cigarettes. Pick somewhere else to get your tattoo... you're welcome. :) I think the artist said his name was Nick! read more

Completely awful!!!!! Walked in and asked the guy how much it would be for a baby footprint and he looked at us like we was awful parents for wanting that. And said that HE was not interested. Wish we would have gotten his name because he was very rude. Do not go to this place!!! read more

Cool products but the customer service from the cashiers was horrible. The employees that helped us were incredibly rude to us and the other customers in the store, not somewhere I'd go if buying tobacco products or funky things. Go somewhere with friendlier employees. read more

This place is great! Not only do they have a nice pipe gallery they have clothing and all sorts of just random shit and you can get a tattoo while there. The people working are always super cool. We always hit this place up when we are in GS. This is a must for anyone who likes little hippy shops. read more

This place is absolute trash. I would suggest to take your business elsewhere. In addition to being overpriced, their staff knows close to nothing. My girlfriend went here to get a bowl for a "water pipe" and specifically asked for an 18 male piece. They confidently sold her the wrong type and when she came to exchange it, they were rude and told her "you need to take that out of the store right now" keep in mind that everything was 100 percent clean. I would rate this pathetic excuse for a business 1/10. read more

Crucial Spot on Gulf shores. Friendly service, unique hippie feel. They have some things that certain people may want for their trip, also tattoos obviously and some other goodies like gifts , and little momentos. 5 star for the friendly service and being the only guys around w this stuff! read more

Very clean tattoo shop that drew us in. Mike, our artist, was extremely professional and did an excellent job. He did 5 tattoos for our family in one day - which is impressive in of itself. But he did an amazing job and we were all very pleased with our pieces of art!! Also very great with altering and listening to what everyone wanted. This place is such a tourist trap in the worse way!!! I purchased a product which they apparently display notice that they do not provide refunds on smoke products such as battery for vape pens. I never noticed the alleged notice! Any way the product broke and when I went to get a refund I got the lecture how they don't refund and how it wasn't broken when I purchased it. I said of course it wasn't broken when I bought it but then it did break after I purchased it and not need to return it because it's broken. I said isn't that why so often things are brought back for refunds?? They offered a store credit but at this point I did not want any part of this establishment. Wow. Thieves. Knowingly Selling cheap products or why else would they have to have notices of no refunds?? Never shop on the island In General. Most of the businesses are like that. I wouldn't even give this place one star. They are horrible. The tattoo I got is the worst looking tattoo that I have. The lines a choppy. Areas that are supposed to be shaded aren't even fully filled in. I could just keep going. It's honestly just horrible. I do NOT recommend this place at all. read more
