The Y isn't the cheapest place to workout but they offer so much more for the money, plus the give back to the community in many ways. Parking at this Y can be challenging during the busy hours. The location was once a supermarket and that translates into the mostly single common space layout that is sort of unique to this YMCA. To me I feel and abdorb more energy from all the more easily visible happy action driven people in greater observable mass of gathering / congregation. And ust a little less in more segmented layouts at other locations primarily thinking yhe WGW YMCA the there seems more familial to me probably cause I started my membership there years before this location opened. All locations great but to me definitely bit different feels which suits my preferences perfectly I love the variety options. And luckily I live smack in the middle of my 3 preferred locations. -- I love the mission statements of the YMCA and the promotion community enrichment, it's dual / multiple missions (see photos of the flyers and room mission labels / titles. Intellectual and even soul (Chaplain connection) at this location. Place is welll equipmed and even expanding with outside workout areas that one day will include pickleball. The other locations with wer areas a quick distances from here. The stadf and environment are super pleasant. The lockers in the changing areas are metal and ample and mostly in good operating condition. I absolutely love that they padded running / walking track circle around the open space equipment workout area. Complimentary coffee provided during morning hours with goood sufficiently strong flavor that is perfect to my preferences. Magazines and lounging areas are super appreciated. Sufficient but not over abundant TV''s to see sports / etc. Showers operating sufficiently in locker rooms. Multiple yoga /! Pilates class spaces at least 4. Conference room available for... Wrapping up I feel happy and energized ane centered when come to this location. I strongly recommend giving this and all YMCA WS locations a try. And they take income into consideration for the less advantaged. And if haven't changed a lot of Medicaid Advantage plans offer SILVER SNEAKERS that covers most if not all of the costs of typical gym memberships. I believe my regular priced dues run about $49 per month. Allowing me to use any YMCA location in the USA and possibly betond. A super nice feature if travel. -- PS Would be really great if at least on of the YMCA'S per city stay open till midnight. During Covid the schedule lost 1 hour and even 10pm during the week was less than my rythm would like options wise. Now 9pm M-T, 8pm F, 6pm S S.

I recently moved to Lexington and with my insurance have the ability to join various gyms. I have…read moretoured several gyms in the area and settled on City Fitness. The staff is pleasant and not trolling the gym but available if you have questions. (note:There is child watch during certain hours but I have not used it.) The facility is in the Old Farmer's Co-op so the location is in the middle of Uptown however there is enough parking or at least I have found that I have been able to find a space 7 days a week for two weeks now. The floors are all hardwood and the equipment is divided into several areas. I like that the cardio equipment isn't right next to the weights so you can suffer in a little privacy instead of being stared at by people while they rest. There are three areas of machines and free weights which include everything you would need to workout either parts of the body of full body. The machines give you ample space so that you don't feel crowded next to person sweating next to you and there are multiple mirror walls to check for form or just check yourself out. Whatever works for you! There is a dry sauna locating off the main room that is directly behind the ladies locker room. I suggest you make sure it is hot while working out if you plan to use it during the day. It heats up quickly but I have had to heat it up on non-peak hours which is really no big deal and doesn't waste electricity. Lastly if you wish to shower here and head out or to work be advised that the ladies' locker room has only one shower. There is an additional shower outside the locker room that you can use and I have never needed a shower and been unable to take one. I am very pleased with City Fitness and thus far it has been one of the most pleasant gyms I have joined.

The mistreatment of a paying cleint and the abuse of a 1yo child... it is fair to say that this is not a safe gym. -they have been removed now, but there was more information and details in other reviews... Paid clients being dismissed and verbally attacked as well as children being abused in the childcare room. Me and mine will stay far away from this place and I recommend the same of anyone new considering becoming a member.

It is a safe place for children of all ages to learn, grow, and interact with others. They have a large glass wall where parents can watch their child without being in the way. They have cubbies for shoes and socks. It's recommended that they bring a water bottle because they do have water breaks, but no fear if you don't. They have water fountains and a refill station for water bottles. They have a party room in the back, and a play area up front for siblings or kiddos early for their class. I was amazed at the bathrooms...they are so clean and have a stool provided. They also have a potty training seat that you can flip down if you are taking your kiddo and don't need the full open adult seat. They even had a station with feminine products for females who may need something in a pinch. They've truly thought of it all!
