I cannot sing his or his staff's praises enough. Mr Baylis saved my cat's life after he was run over and he went over and above his expected role as a vet. Despite the surgery being 6 miles from my house, I still take my pets to see him (and have to endure the constant miaowing all the way there!!). If you're thinking of registering your pet here, do it, it's the best vets you'll ever find.

The receptionists are always exceptionally friendly and eager to help. You can tell that they genuinely have a love of animals. Every one of the veterinarians we've seen has been very understanding and has dealt with any query we've had. The parking directly outside the practice is tight but for 20p you can park in the small car park next to Bill Smiths motorcycles.

I had called in advance in something of a panic and the lady I spoke to was very reassuring and kind. She told me to come right away and they would look after him. As soon as I walked in the lady knew who I was and she asked me to take a seat. I only had to wait a few minutes before the vet called me in. The Vet I saw was so lovely. He was kind and caring and really made me feel better. Unfortunately the outcome of his examination was not good as my rat had to be put to sleep :( The vet offered me the option of operating on my rat but he said it was very unlikely that he would survive and it would cost me a lot of money. He did not pressure me into spending extra money and made sure he gave me the facts for both options so I could make an informed choice. I left the room, clearly very upset, and the receptionist gave me a tissue and made me a cup of tea, telling me to take my time and there was no rush. Whilst I was sitting recovering the vet came out to see me and said my rat had just drifted away and did not suffer, which made me feel better. When it was time to pay the receptionist seemed to be feeling very bad to have to charge me for putting my rat to sleep, but I understood that I had to pay. The staff were so lovely and kind at Ark. I haven't had cause to go back to a vets since then but if I did I would definitely go to Ark.

I called the R.C.P.C.A and there was not a thing that they could do. I started to call around the local vets in a desperate attempt to get something done for this poor dog. All of the vets I telephoned were not interested they mostly told me to pay for some treatment for the dog then try to get the money back from the owner. With this being so close to Christmas i didn.t have any spare money even if i wanted to do this. I called Aardvark and even though it was a Saturday they arranged for someone to stay behind so that i could take to dog to them. They took the dog in and cared for it free of charge. The vets here really seem to care about animals and not just there profit. Well done to all of you.

It was a Bank Holiday and our border collie having been ill for a few days, (with medications from…read moreour usual practise) had had a weekend of blood passing, listlessness and totally off his food plus constant diarrhoea amongst other symptoms.... all extremely distressing for him and us. Despite my early call at 8.15 am. to the emergency line, there was no hesitation from the Vet to meet me within 30 minutes at the practice. This young man spent some time examining our Dog and listening to all we had to say, and immediately gave us reassurances and confidence that our boy was in no danger. He explained everything in detail and could not have been more supportive. He spent time administering treatment and explained how we should look after our lad for the next few days. Well done, would highly recommend. 48 hours later, he is on the mend, happy little chap, looking for food and cuddles.

I have been using Adam's Vet for the past 18 months, and all 3 of my dogs are registered there. I…read morehave only used them for routine procedures such as vaccinations, microchipping, check ups and spaying - however, they are very professional and understanding of your concerns about your pet. They are slightly pricey, but no more than any other vet I know of. They also offer the microchip slightly cheaper on certain days. They have a 24hour call out service but this can be costly. The staff are extremely helpful and will always offer you the best advice, rather than the most profitable! I would strongly recommend them to anyone who has concerns about their pet's reaction in vets. Adams are very accommodating and will often be able to fit you in at short notice or even on a drop in, however a Saturday morning is appointments only.

Asked for some tabs to calm dog through fireworks, insisted had to be seen, even though dog was only there couple of weeks ago and forgot to ask while there, got tabs in past over phone no problem until now. Explained this but told had to come in and bring dog & will be charged consultation again just for tabs. Seen vet who tried sales pitch on some gel (guessing trying to make more profit) but eventually gave up giving usual tabs and charging for 2min consultation that mum didnt want, paid by card to find after querying why over £50, that she was overcharged but told has to wait for refund of overcharge as paid by card! So vets have charged a pensioner for consultation she didnt want, overcharged her, had to pay 2 taxis, total cost over £50 all for few tabs costing £11, pure profit orientated and no loyalty or compassion, disgraceful service
