I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, however I can't anymore after dealing with what we're dealing with now. First off, we gave her our taxes and were told that they would be done on a certain day. The day came and passed, so I called to ask how progress was going. She told me she would call me back later, but later never came. This happened several times where I would call, be told that I would be called back later, and I would never hear from her. My husband also went in person a couple of times to inquire about our taxes. We have never experienced this before with a tax preparer. It was a very frustrating experience. Finally, she called and said our taxes were finished. We paid her and waited for our refund. We filed right before the deadline in April, and still haven't received our refund. I finally called the IRS today, and come to find out the IRS never received our taxes. Then, when I try to call Darlane, I get an automated message saying what their business hours are (they're supposed to be open right now), and nobody picks up AND there is no way to leave a voicemail. It just hangs up. I don't know what is happening with this business, but this is not o.k. They stole from us. I wanted to leave this review to warn others to find someone else to do your taxes. Now we are in the position where we have to find someone else to do our taxes and pay them on top of what was stolen from us and possibly face a penalty fee from the IRS for filing late. Also, we have to hunt down another copy of a certain form because she never gave us this particular form. Other than going there in person, there's no other way to contact her. read more
