Had a very average/underwhelming experience. Though everyone I asked for recommendations, recommended this place. Had a wedding band added to my wife's ring for our 10 year anniversary. The sales representative did a good job helping me pick and custom order my style to match our ring and have it soldered to the existing wedding ring. The timing was a little weird as we had a big trip planned for our anniversary and I did not know if it would be done in time. However they were able to deliver. During the process the sales representative said they would appraise our new ring for free for insurance purposes. Also, we live about 1hr-90min away. I got a call that our ring was ready in about a week, which I thought was a fast turn around time. I brought my family out to pay for the ring and pick it up. However, only the band arrived, and the soldering work had not been completed, so we had to leave and come back yet again to pick it up when it was finished. Ruining my surprise a little. The soldering job could have been more professional in my opinion, but they did not charge much. Looks like something a novice could do in their craft room. I also never received my appraisal. When following up the rep said I would have to bring the ring in again to have it appraised, though it should have been done when the ring was completed. I just received an appraisal for the band I purchased via email. Since my review Davis Jewelers reached out to make things right. I was able to come back in with the ring. They had their Jeweler review their work and reshape and polish the wrinkled solder connection on the ring. They also made the appropriate appraisal, and assisted me a little extra to make things right, which I appreciate. Sara was absolutely wonderful to work with! We originally hoped to create a custom piece using the pearls from our class rings to celebrate our 30th anniversary. I was inquiring about a strand of pearls and my friend was getting several pieces of jewelry created. We were there for a number of hours. I did not feel intimidated and the staff was friendly even more I stated that I was a serious buyer. I surprised my partner with a Rolex from Davis. I've never purchased a Rolex before and several people at Davis gave me ample direction and information to start with. Once I narrowed down the watch to purchase they let me know the one I was interested in is rare and can't they cannot predict if they will get one. I received a call a few weeks later explaining that they got one in. They normally wouldn't sell someone random a watch like that - those watches have a waitlist. Luckily I knew one of their customers with some clout, which is probably how I was able to obtain the watch. Having a medically fragile child with many disabilities makes it hard for a thrifty shopper such as myself to leave my house to shop around. Not ready to give up my quest for the best deal on a custom made ring, I called almost every jeweler in town. I endured countless requests for me to "just stop by the store." Having to explain myself and our difficult situation to everyone became insufferable. I tried not to become discouraged since no one was calling me back. I sent pics of the ring I wanted to the narrowed down list of stores. It quickly became clear, the ring I wanted made was too much work, for not a lot of money in too unusual of a circumstance. I felt like no one was taking me seriously since I couldn't come in. Finally, after being told every excuse in the book I found the absolute MOST helpful person at Davis. She actually understood my situation and never questioned or judged me. She went above and beyond making special accommodations to provide the best possible customer service. We sent pics back and forth through text, even after store hours. She called her contacts to rush the process so it could be made by our quickly approaching deadline and keep it within our budget. I could go on and on. Being so impressed with this employee that had jumped over every hurdle to earn our business I asked for the name and number of her manager so I could make sure she got recognized. Best in town! I always shop around before making any big purchases, so I went to almost every jeweler in town not located in a mall. They made the shopping experience almost effortless. I told them exactly what I was looking for in an engagement ring and diamond. They didn't have the diamond I was looking for in the store, but in just a few days they had 3 diamonds brought in with my specifications. Two of them were almost perfect, one was exactly what I had been looking for all over town. I wanted a custom setting based off of something from the 1920s, they had two designers try to recreate the ring. One of them hit it out of the park! He made an amazing custom ring going off only a picture. It looked way better than I had hoped for, to this day I am amazed how nice it turned out. The best part of shopping here, I got the perfect diamond and the perfect setting for less than I was prepared to spend. Other places said the diamond I was looking for alone was going to cost more than I paid for the entire ring. The custom setting came in at half what other places quoted me. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Before you head to one of jewelers trading punches on the radio, give Davis a try. Better yet go to the others first so you can see the difference. My boy friend and I recently visited Davis Jewelers to browse for engagement rings. I was very surprised by the excellent experience we had from start to finish. We were immediately greeted by a friendly sales representative who introduced himself and got a good feel for who we were and what we were looking for. His name was Skip and we haven't stopped raving about how incredible he was since we left the store. Skip went above and beyond to answer any and all of our questions, he was not overly pushy or negative in any way whatsoever and he most certainly made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. We also loved the atmosphere of this facility. It is beautiful, well-kept and organized in a way that allows you to look for and easily find exactly what you need. They have a great variety of jewelry at fair prices and are willing to work with out based on your needs. When I found a ring style that was "almost" perfect for me, Skip assured me that he could and would contact the designer to get quotes for the ring and specify any alterations to make it perfect for me. They offer great warranties on their merchandise, value customer service and from what Skip explained, they value hard work and running an earnest business. We have family that have bought from Davis for years now and we can definitely understand why. My fiancé consistently purchased various gifts for me from Davis Jewelers, as his family has been good customers of theirs for many years. Because of this, when I decided to insure my more expensive jewelry and needed a formal appraisal for each piece, I entrusted Davis. Not only did the process take days longer than they originally promised, it was EXTREMELY expensive for an appraisal, and when I went to pickup my jewelry, no one offered to make sure my 9 pieces were still in the boxes and in tact. I took it upon myself to look through each box (THANK GOODNESS!!!) and noticed that the pearl face on my Michele watch had been cracked underneath the glass. When I showed it to one of the family members who works there, she denied that they could have caused the damage during the appraisal, even after the appraiser admitted that he took apart the watch face!! After much arguing, I finally got the point across that had the watch face been cracked prior to the appraisal, it would have been noted in the thorough check when I gave them my jewelry to appraise to begin with. Davis did send the watch back to Michele to get repaired as they should have, but it took a significant amount of arguing and time for them to admit their mistake. I do not advise anyone purchasing from this jeweler, as they are clearly not concerned how they treat their (previously) loyal customers. read more
