I am new to Louisville and wanted to support a locally owned business for a ring repair. I needed 2 stones replaced and the other stones in the ring tightened. When I arrived, a gentleman who appeared very friendly, came out to help me, and immediately asked how he could help and what made me come to them. I told him that I would like to support locally on businesses and they got a high star rating. He then explained what they would need to do and how long it would take. A few few weeks later, I picked my ring up and 3 days after one of the stones that was replaced had fallen out. Of course, I called the store to let them know what happened and then I returned to the store to see if they would remedy the solution. When I arrived, the woman who assisted me said oh yes, I got your voicemail, but she never returned my call. She also took my ring back to the gentleman who was to repair it, walked back out to me and said oh well when this ring was created, they set the center stone before placing the top center cluster, so its hard to get to the ones that had fallen out. Thankful for the explanation however that still didn't explain why I did not receive a quality ring repair. also, I didn't buy the ring from them, I brought it to them for the repair. She proceeded to tell me how difficult it would be, and that he would not be able to get to it for about two or three weeks. I expressed that I had already been without it for 3 weeks and that I would like to have the ring for the holiday. She continue to tell me about all of the orders that the repair man had ahead of mine. Again, thank you for sharing that, however, I feel like a job not done well should line jump any other jobs waiting in the queue. Her manager finally spoke from the back office and said, just expedite it, and then she came out to assist me further. I also want to point out that I am a black woman, and this is a white owned establishment. Thankfully, a former coworker came into the store, who by the way was a white woman, she hugged me and we talked about how we missed one another. After that exchange, the previous sales person treated me much differently. Again, I'm not saying there was any racial undertone, but what I am saying is the treatment was different after. It did not feel good to be treated how I was treated. It felt as though I wasn't a priority because my ring was as expensive or valuable as others. This was felt in the way she continued to downplay the quality of my ring.It was a further insult when I came to pick it up after the second repair and a different sales associate treated me the same way. The ring was not wrapped as it was initially, and she brought it out and proceeded to say oh here is this for you. It just didn't feel welcoming, and it almost felt like I was the blame. I am a supporter of locally owned businesses, white, black, or other, but this time I probably should have gone to a more reputable jeweler such as Jared or Kay Jewelers. My experience with them is that they only see one color, green! Very disappointed! read more

I've bought jewelry here before and had repair and watch batteries done. but this time I was very very turned off. 1st the lady greeting was cold and then when I showed a necklace that was partially 24k gold and partially glass beads, she uncerimoniously took it in a back room, and came back with a stick-it note with $675 written on it. no explanation of ounces on the gold. I felt treated like a dang pawn shop. I actually asked to take the paper w the $675 written on it and the sales lady said "no". I said "really, I can't have the paper?'. and then she shoved it at me like I insulted her. the disrespect was palpable from start to finish. That piece of jewelry is important to me and the decision to sell it is important. I was made to feel uninformed, disrespected and valueless. Shameful treatment of repeat customer. Won't return and will inform other longtime recommenders of this treatment. read more
