This is a grower-only market and the products are guaranteed to be from Michigan. So, if you are looking to pick up some Michigan produce, meat, cheese, baked goods, or artistries and support some local businesses this is the spot. It will be nice if this market continues to mature into something bigger and more popular. Unlike some of the larger neighboring farmers markets with permanent structures, the vendors here only use temporary event tents and therefore the overall market lacks some simple amenities. The Market is located in downtown Grand Blanc on Grand Blvd and open only on Sundays 10am to 3pm from late May thru October. It is centrally located downtown and shares a decent sized free parking lot with a few other businesses. Inside there are a plethora of small businesses including restaurants, bakeries, a gallery, stores and the Flint Children's Museum and Store. In the back there are plenty of tables and seats to enjoy your meal or snack while there. I was just there to browse and see what they have to offer but unfortunately, I wasn't able to return to try any of the establishments. I do hope to try something on the next go around. On the day that I visited, it was clean, organized and easy to navigate; for the most part it goes around in a circle with only a few businesses e.g. pizza, ice cream place, etc. tucked in a corner. There's parking surrounding the building as it shares lot space with the municipal offices of the city. It's quite a large space, great for expos, fairs, etc. I could even see it as a wedding venue; which it likely is. The are food services spaces and bathrooms inside of the building, and a nice outdoor sitting/dining space.

Located in charming Kerrytown, you can easily bundle farmer's market shopping with strolling through Kerrytown shops, downtown shops, and/or grabbing a tasty meal while you're out too. Saturday mornings through early afternoon year-round, and Wednesdays May-Dec. I will say that this year it seems like Wednesday market is much more sparse in terms of vendors and offerings than it used to be, but still a nice option for a less busy day. Artisan market on Sundays, and occasional events throughout the year as well - like the Christmas market each December (one evening only). Parking can be a little hectic - have to be kind of lucky to get a market lot spot or one of the spots on Detroit St (paid), but there are other street parking options and nearby lots and garages. I used to like going Wednesdays before 8am, because I could always get a spot on Detroit St and it was free before then.

It's part of the experience. Come prepared to walk a bit and you'll be fine. The vendors clearly put in a lot of effort. You can tell there's pride in what they're offering, and the market itself has a good atmosphere. That said, I didn't really find anything I needed or couldn't live without this visit. The items were fine, just not quite what I was hoping for. I do wish the vendors could get a little more bang for their buck, whether that's higher traffic, better layout, or stronger buyer energy. The effort is there, and it deserves to be rewarded. All in all, it's a nice stop, worth checking out, and still a good market even if it wasn't a standout haul for me this time. Four stars.

Yay for the Fenton Farmer's Market!…read more Abouta block away from my office, there's no better way to spenda Thursday late afternoon (they open at 5 (i think)) than meandering the alright booths packed with wholesome goodness. They've got a great selection of produce, lots of veggies, some yummy breads, and some arts'n'crafty type things. They've got Michigan honey and jams and a super crazy salt booth. Not much for hot foods but you can definitely find something to eat on the spot. Occasionally they have these amazing flower people with beautiful bouquets. Everything is priced to sell and most of the people are pretty swell. FYI - they are seasonal and move to Lake Fenton Middle School after the season for an added 4 weeks (i think).

They were so kind and understanding as we took forever to pick one out and then added more items at checkout (this was right before closing, I might add). I came back again today for some pumpkins for my porch. As soon as I walked in, the employee greeted me with a smile and commented on my sleeping toddler. All the pumpkins, flowers, and other decor were great quality and extremely reasonably priced. I ended up with 6 mid-sized pumpkins for $22, plus a free mini one that she gifted to my son. There were also a few spots set up for photos, and ample parking even once it started to get busier. Overall, this continues to be a great spot and we will be back again for Christmas!
