A very rich creamy sauce and the bread was drenched thus there was no textural contract making it sickly. Queenies...well queenies are queenies. Malaysian fish curry soup. Red curry with some tasty fish and a couple of shrimp. Again very heavy and creamy - no bread for contrast or a few noodles. Lastly beetroot over a creamy something piped with pesto around the side. The beetroot was overpowered by the creamy stuff. Again no bread to spread it on or anything to draw contrast - a parmesan crisp might have worked. I asked for more bread or crackers to mop up all these soupy things. Half a very small slice of "artisanal" bread was brought for which they charged me a squid fifty. Its a small cafe, very nice with a great view and some great ideas but 6 hours later my tummy is still reeling from those sauces. New management team = new ideas!? As of this month, Jan…read more2026, the new pub hours are CLOSED all Sunday, and CLOSED at 7pm on a weeknight - but still open until Midnight on Friday & Saturday. This place WAS once a normal "local" pub - no idea what direction it's heading in - but it's not gonna sell much beer if it's closed...!! Maybe the brewery are after selling it off as a non-runner?? The new manager seems to have had a personality bypass and is definitely NOT very suited to running a real pub; based on the recent changes!

For a main I had the tomahawk rib eye. A very large steak, I originally ordered medium rare, the waitress guided me to rare and that was a great call as by my standards even rare would have been closer to medium at a US steak house.
