I move very often, mostly to larger cities, and currently reside outside of Philadelphia. A few months ago I went to a new dentist for the first time near my home in Pennsylvania and was given the news that I had 16 cavities, needed a root canal performed and needed a tooth extracted, a bill which totaled over $10,000.00 after insurance payments!! I was shocked at this news, and most definitely did not believe it, since of course, I've only had two cavities in my entire life when seeing Dr. York, but yet, it had been a few years since I had seen a dentist, but still this seemed excessive and I wasn't sure what to believe and didn't know if this was just a gimmick for the dentist to receive more dollars in his pocket. I made an appointment to see Dr. York on a visit to see family in Ohio to get his opinion, and long story short, I did have cavities, but only five, and no root canal, no extractions. So only around $158.00 after insurance payment out of my pocket!! Dr. York is an amazing doctor. He has a well established business. He doesn't have to "fake" cavity fillings to make more money because he does well and is honest and that is why I go to him even though I live far away!!
