I asked to walk through the gym before purchasing a membership and was invited to do so without…read morehassle. The music playing in one of the weight rooms wasn't loud or distracting and the gym wasn't crowded. They have sufficient equipment and maintain a classic atmosphere with enough old school style equipment to keep the gym from being crowded with internet weirdos. Since it's a Nautilus gym I immediately looked for a pullover machine and found one but it had a sign on it that said "out of order". The girl at the front desk informed me that machine turnaround typically doesn't take long. I trusted that it was just a damaged elbow pad and not that they were trying to keep people from using this machine- which for some reason I expected would be either nonexistent or out of order(which almost no other gyms in the St Louis area have). I also noticed one other machine which was out of order. They have a few other amenities which may or may not be accessible to members(as they have at least one other business operating within the facility). At first glance this gym seems great and I found the staff to be welcoming and personable. They're open 24 hours and the pricing is similar to club fitness. Five stars only because they're the only gym in the area like them. I would have given four stars for the signature pullover machine being out of order as expected but I prefer that they don't close this place over a bad yelp review- some room for improvement, but otherwise much better atmosphere than all of the other chain gyms in the area.

It's on a drop-in basis so you don't have to register/sign up. You don't even have to go every week! I wanted to go every week, but things keep coming up so we've had to skip some weeks. It's just perfect for a working/busy adult that wants to learn some dance or get some exercise. The people that work there are pretty great too :) They're all so nice

While Deanna's instruction is valuable, it can come at a steep price. She leads with intimidation…read moreand if upset, will isolate and humiliate a child. When we informed Deanna that our son, who was receiving a boy's scholarship, was accepted to another school - instead telling us her issues, she pulled in our son the following day to yell at him alone. She did this a second time after he returned from a summer intensive. She *stopped class* to pull him into her office and told him that he could not come back the next day until he found a way to repay his debt to her. ("and I dont mean money") These are classes we paid for months previously. She then further told him that from now on, at the end of each class, he would have to apologize to her and thank her for the class. Any teacher that thinks taking her personal feelings out on a child is ok, especially in such an abusive manner, has no business teaching kids. I cannot recommend Deanna's instruction any longer - and had I known what we were in for, I never would have let her near my child.
