7/11/2025 we were there trying to inquire about staying there. Front desk clerk (around 6:45) was extremely rude to not only my husband but others in line before him. She needs major customer service training. Lobby smelled bad. We opted to go across the street to the hotel across the highway. Paid more but it was perfect stay. Very clean and highly friendly staff. Their breakfast was great. Definitely worth paying more. read more

Not nice is understatement as this hotel is dangerous! There is no elevator despite their being two floors. Unclean (multiple crickets in the light shade pictured). Pool was an unseemly green color and you could not see the bottom, signs had fallen off the wall. And most concerning the outside hotel doors did not/ could not close despite the sign that said they would be automatically locked from 9pm -6 am. Very unsafe for people of color traveling especially because the town folk were aggressive! read more

One of the rudest managers I've ever encountered. This Days Inn was tolerable, except for the fact that the woman, Gwen, at the front desk, was very unwelcoming and inconsiderate. I went up to the front desk to check in and a woman at a desk off to the side just stared at me when I said I was there to check in. After she eventually got up and walked over, I gave her my ID and credit card. She asked if I wanted the first or second floor and in a very polite tone, I kindly asked, "is there an upgrade available?" She blankly stared at me. I explained that I was a Diamond level rewards member and I pointed down to the sheet at the desk that says free suite upgrades are given to Diamond rewards members upon request. Silence. I said that most Wyndham properties allow for a room upgrade since I am a loyal customer. What happened next nearly set me off. She continued to blankly stare me in the eyes and in a very cold, condescending tone, said, "you are NOT getting the jacuzzi suite." It was so awkward with her staring me down and talking to me like a misbehaving child, that I didn't question her. I spend thousands of dollars a year at Wyndham properties, I've stayed at dozens of locations and I book at least 30-40 stays per year. I've never been treated like that before, especially since I was not confrontational, whatsoever. Gwen continued to stare me down, but she was noticeably irritated now. In a very robotic manner, she gave me scripted information on the hotel and sent me on my way. I walked toward my room feeling unappreciated, but I thought that a quick dip in the hot tub would allow me to relax. I changed and walked to the pool area, only to find a hand written note that the hot tub was "out of order." Having been jipped of a room upgrade and now unable to use their advertised hot tub, I called customer service. I was quickly transferred to the Wyndham Diamond concierge service. I asked to verify my Diamond level status and if I was still eligible for free room upgrades. The polite gentleman on the line said that I was and explained that given my loyalty and purchase patterns, I will likely retain Diamond level status for years to come. I asked if I was eligible for an upgrade to a suite at this Days Inn and he said that I was. He seemed surprised when I explained that Gwen told me that I was not getting a room upgrade. He offered to call the front desk and resolve the issue. After being put on hold, briefly, he came back and seemed both shocked and disappointed to report that Gwen refused to honor the room upgrade. I wouldn't be so upset about this situation if she had been polite with me, but she was unnecessarily rude to me and the concierge. If you're not going to honor the written policy of a Wyndham property, which is clearly posted at the front desk, at least have the decency to explain why. I didn't do anything wrong to ask for something I was entitled to. I rarely call customer service. In all my years of traveling, I've only done so twice. I was not intending on being a nuisance. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this Days Inn, based on the way I was treated by Gwen. read more

Rooms are roughly outdated, mostly the window boxes and ugly plaid curtains. It smelled like cigarettes in our room and I feel like it's probably mostly those 80's curtains. "Breakfast" was a waffle maker, cold cereal, bagels, underwhelming coffee. After being in the car 12 hours the kids were pumped to swim as a break, the pool was green and the hot tub was old bath water warm. The girl at the front desk couldn't answer simple questions over the phone which was incredibly frustrating, but in person she did let me do two for one on dog fees since one dog is small (it's a $25 fee per dog). The beds were soft and clean and it seems they got rid of comforters in the photos provided which was smart I believe for the sake of smells. Unfortunately we would probably stay there again since I believe it's the only pet friendly spot in that area and it's a Segway to Colorado. read more

We have stayed here well in the area for the previous 10 years or more with usual, expected services. However, November 4, 2020 produced results that will cause us to look elsewhere next time. The clerk is unbelievably slow on check in and seems confused. Our room was clean with usual crappy hotel shampoo and such. But the next morning at 6 o'clock I was disappointed there was no bacon or sausage and eggs as usual. The chairs were stacked on the tables and the clerk nor anyone else was to be found to correct this. We made a waffle but it did not taste right. I got another cup of the batter and it did not smell right; may be spoiled? The coffee tasted like chicory; not worth pouring out. Why even go to the bother to put this junk in front of someone and call it breakfast? The next morning I woke up to make the nasty motel room coffee and found that it had not been replaced from the previous morning. Really? One of the most important facets of the room in the morning is having a cup of coffee right here, first thing and you couldn't get that right! Perfectly serviceable hotel. Pretty dated looking but fine to crash in. Kinda strange that's its two floors with only a staircase in the lobby to connect the two. Bed was alright, we had a fridge so that was nice, the AC took literally all night to cool the room down. There was a pool with open hours starting at 11am (insane, why would they start THAT late?!) but no one was paying attention so we went in at 9am. Breakfast was nice, had all the standard stuff but it appeared as though someone homemade biscuits, gravy, and pancakes and brought them in. Cute. The only subpar thing here was the staff. When we arrived and tried to check in there was a sign on the front desk that they'd be back in 5 minutes. We waited. And waited. Then finally dinged the front counter bell and a lady wandered out from a room down the hall. She slowly, and without pleasantries, checked us in. The next morning when we went to check out the same sign was up, folks were impatiently milling around waiting for someone to appear. Same lady it turns out. Angel at the front desk was wonderful. Hotel is older but clean and the beds are comfortable.

We stayed just for one night during COVID pandemic. The property is bit noisy and run down. The guy working the front desk was not wearing a face mask which was my biggest concern. Rooms were a bit run down. One of the few hotels in Lamar that is pet friendly, so would only stay here again as a last resort. If you're particular of cleanliness, this isn't the best choice in town. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. After coming from California to see my daughter play in a tournament we got to the hotel and were told that they never got our reservation from Booking.com which I had booked months ago! Managers excuse was they sometimes don't get reservations from a third party app? Worse thing was all hotels were booked because there was also a Rodeo in town. We LOVED The Days Inn in Lamar. The pool was warm! The rooms were clean and just the right size for my little family. We had cable, wifi, a fridge, and a microwave in our room. The breakfast was just right for all of us we each had something we enjoyed! Pancakes, buscuits and gravy, bagels and more. The pricing was just right for our budget. If we ever go to Lamar again we will definately be staying at the Days Inn! read more

What the hell is going on delete this as an overnight stop while on thr road. The good-rooms had recently been remodeled and were clean. The bad - the bed was horrible, the floor would have been more comfortable. UNBELIEVEABLE. Upon arrival in Lamar after a 5 hour drive, I was told by the front desk attendant, Gwen Smith, that our reservation had ben cancelled. I told her that was impossible as I had called to confirm it the day prior and had been in the car for 5 hours and had certainly not called to cancel. She retorted with such callous disdain that it was cancelled in the Days Inn system. I have never in my life been treated so rudely by someone in the position of customer service. Interestingly enough, when I called the Days Inn 800 number after checking into another hotel and hour later, I was told that the reservation had been cancelled at 6:14pm at the front desk, directly at the hotel. So not only was I treated horribly by the Days Inn in Lamar, I was also lied to. UGH!!!!!! read more

Outdated hotel. Decent exercise room and pool/hot tub area. Old beds. Inconsistent, slow wifi. Totally disinterested staff upon arrival. Walking into my room it stunk like cigarette smoke. I called the front desk to check if I'd accidentally checked in to a smoking room. I was assured that my room was not, and had never been a smoking room. Front desk informed me that they do indeed have a few smoking rooms, but mine was not one of those. I imagine all the rooms stinks like smoke as my room did, and the hallways. Every time someone lit up in their room (I believe on the first floor, I was on 2nd) you could immediately smell the second hand smoke. Disgusting! When I checked out, all my luggage smelled like cigarette smoke. The "hot" breakfast is a joke, and at 7:15 there were no eggs available. My comment to the front desk regarding no eggs fell on deaf ears. I suppose I'll pay double the rate and stay next door at the Holiday Inn Express next time. Don't bother with this place. read more

Made reservation over phone for 2 rooms. During conversation there was lengthy discussion on getting the rooms adjoining (they have no adjoining doors) or getting rooms side by side. When we arrived we were told we only had a reservation for one room but that an additional room was available on a seperate floor. Due to medical conditions in our group this was not going to be acceptable and the owner told us we were welcome to try and get a room with a different hotel. We were able to secure rooms elsewhere where we were warned that the owner of the first hotel was dishonest. After receiving this warning we returned to the first hotel (Days Inn) to ensure that our credit card would not be charged for services not rendered. He directly stated that he would not charge our credit card. However, the owner of the Days Inn lied because he did in fact charge the card and then proceeded to lie to the credit card company when the charges were disputed. In hindsite I recognize this business owner is skilled in this technique of taking advantage of and stealing from customers. Our stay coincided with a closing of the closest interstate highway that was routing an extreme amount of extra traffic through this town and past his hotel. So he was provided extra opportunity to fill his rooms for the evening without having to put any effort into it. It's often said that theives are lazy and that does appear to be the case here. This review is submitted so that others will not become a victim of his dishonesty. read more

Horrible place! Should not be part of chain. Pool freezing hot tub not even Luke warm. We thought something was wrong with it but the management just turned down heat! Our room was clean enough, bed was OK. The temperature was well-controlled. Blankets were a little thin. The towels were minimal and threadbare. The staff definitely looked as though they wanted to be somewhere else. The alarm clock woke us up at 6 AM and I deducted a half a star for that. I feel it is not just our responsibility but the responsibility of the staff to ensure that the alarm clock is turned off. If you are looking for good coffee in the morning, go elsewhere. My biggest complaint was the price. I feel for what we got, which was your average clean hotel no-frills, the price should have been at least $30 lower. I wish I had known about a local hotel down the street that offered the same value for much, much less. Unfortunately, the only hotels that were advertised were the chain hotels. Do your research and find a local hotel, there are quite a few of them and they offer the same value for much better price. We will not be staying here again. read more

I work with a group of high achieving high school students and we set up a trip to visit Lamar Community College as part of a bigger college experience. Made reservations at the Days Inn several weeks prior to the trip. Three days before the trip, the manager (a Mr Patel I believe) sent us an email saying that our reservations had been cancelled "at our request". When we contacted him to ask what he was talking about, he proceeded to give a variety of excuses, things like they "have had trouble with teenagers before" and left it with his plan to "get back with us" which he never did. We had to scramble last minute and found a hotel in La Junta, an hour away. Incredibly unprofessional. We have made the local colleges aware of our experience and will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well. read more

As soon as we walked in the hotel was hot. I should've turned around and left then but we had been on the road for 5.5 hours and we're ready for a break. Our room was even hotter and never seemed to cool off. Also we were rudely addressed by the counter help because our children were being too loud in our room - not kid friendly at all! Breakfast was cold and biscuits were rock hard - definitely worth spending the extra $20 to just go stay next door at the Holiday Inn. Never a guest again. read more
