Street parking is available but not that easy to get. I googled and read that the southern parking spots on Shore Front Pkwy are not for public use. Didn't want to take a chance so found one (north side) by Beach 95th St. Beach 95-97 area was pretty lively last Friday. Saw a schedule of events until 8/31. There was the surf music festival with live bands performing; also a stage performance of Romeo and Juliet at the Rockaway Beach ampitheater. Beach 97 has food vendors; lifeguard station. Update: Enjoying Off The Rails live performance on 8/29 right now. Restrooms were dirty and smelly though. I know that a lot of people use them but need better maintenance. Only 1 sink was left on 8/29. Showers were on the boardwalk making the area sandy and wet. The beach/sand was coarser and a lot more broken shells, some sharp, when compared to Long Beach NY which we've gone to recently. Waves were much stronger too.

She never returned, she left her children at our umbrella for the entire day. The beach patrol, including SPO Benitez, did not care at all when I notified them. But they did care about giving citations to anyone on the beach, without warning, for having a hard seltzer/ice tea to make money. Go to Robert Moses instead, this beach has stooped very low.

It has a fake little sand/beach area. Over looks Manhattan, there is also a wrist band needed for every 45min shift. For 15 mins each hour the pool is tested. And only a certain amount of people are let into the pool at one time. This is the most awesome public pool in NYC!

The recreation center is huge, miles and miles of beach, park, lake, and trails. Pets and their owners may visit bayside beaches throughout the year. Pets are only allowed on oceanside beaches from September 15-March 15. Pets are not permitted on oceanside beaches during the spring and summer, but you can still take them to the parks, trails and other areas. We went in October and entrance was free, we parked near the beach, and we spent a wonderful day.

Reasonably good facilities at the main parking lots (A-F). Fees are collected from 8 AM to 6 PM so if you arrive early, no charge. ($20/day and $100 for a season).

It was very confusing because there was no staff at the booth. There are QR codes, to apply to park. Im not sure how much it was this year. This time I took the bus right into the beach from Brooklyn. It was crowded as I forgot it was Labor Day which was cool. I was able to get a decent spot. The concessions were open and the beach was hot and the water was clean and cool. Years ago I use to come for brunch in winter which was good. I wonder if they still have it. I would be back soon. Hopefully for brunch or coffee at least since fall is upon us :-)

Probably one of the best beaches in the city, simply because no one comes here. And the people that…read moredo are really nice and respectful. It's a serene spot, and you can find some naturalists and hipsters along the way. There are lots of rules, which can be a little annoying and they are heavily enforced, like no dogs on the beach and no alcohol. I hate that there are park rangers all over the place. There are no lifeguards on duty, so even if you're a good swimmer, don't go out too far in the water. The beach is immaculately clean with little trash, although it would be nice to see some more trash cans set up.
