DO NOT USE DAYTON TAXI. Chip Dayton, the owner (and sole employee) of Dayton Taxi, is one of the angriest, rudest, and most unprofessional business owners that I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. His customer service and people skills are so incomprehensibly awful that it truly makes me wonder how he still has any customers at all.
My company booked Dayton Taxi to transport one of our employees to a conference in the Hamptons. When I called the morning of to confirm the car service, Chip told me that the car service had been booked for the following day. I told him that it was supposed to be for today, and asked if he had the pick-up address on file, to which he sarcastically replied, "What do you think?!" He continued to be extremely rude and unaccommodating throughout our conversation, so when I hung up the phone with him, I decided to book my coworker a different car service instead.
When I called Chip back to cancel the car service we'd booked with him, he snapped into a full-blown rant, the highlights of which were: "F**k you! This is your f**king fault - you're the one who booked the car service on the wrong day! You know what? I have your manager's number right here - I'm going to call him and get you f**king fired for being such a f**king idiot!"
I was literally STUNNED. When would this EVER be an appropriate way to speak to anyone, let alone a customer? Curious if others had a similar experience with Dayton Taxi, I looked up their reviews online, and it appears that Chip makes a habit of telling off anyone who writes him a negative review under the username "newyauker", complete with racial slurs and unabashed profanity. I am so disgusted by this man and his "business" that I felt I had to share my experience so other people don't make the same mistake I did by hiring his car service. read more
