Update: Pete (Owner) Called me in response to the review on a Saturday and was genuinely interested in making sure I felt that they had met my expectation and a net positive experience. He fit my car in that day, to complete the job to the best of their ability given my timeline and agreed to refund a portion of what I felt was unmet. He also explained how he saw room for improvement in communication in his shop, and would do his best to ensure this was a one-off experience. While my experience had its bumps, Pete really went out of his way to make sure I left with a positive feeling about the experience. I think it says a lot for a business owner to go stand up when things go wrong, and I would recommend DC Customs. ---- My experience started off great, Joel was nice and said he could fit my car in for a full sound deadening within a week and they allowed me to drop it off a few days early while I had a ride home with a friend. We reviewed the plan again when I dropped it off - which was to install sound deadening insulation in the entire car except the behind headliner (Joel explained that they do not do the headliner for liability reasons because of risk of causing a crease). I let him know that I had a hybrid and he said that would not make a difference and they would work around it. They were true to original timeline (2.5 days) and when I showed up to pick it up, and got on the road I immediately noticed a very obnoxious rattling on the right side of the car. I immediatley took it back and since techs had already left, they said they would have a tech look at it in AM. I picked it up the next afternoon and Joel said they found a loose item under door panel and tightened a few things. The concerning rattling had been addressed. While test driving once more, I noticed a minor squeaks and rattle from the rear. Upon exploring I noticed that access trim parts around the spare tire well and that I could still see bare metal throughout the spare tire well. This was unexpected. I had been very clear from the beginning that the most important areas to be addressed from the beginning was the entire cargo area and rear passenger doors. I had even explained reason I wanted to pay for the service was I couldn't figure out how to remove the trim around the spare tire and realized this was not in my capacity for DIY. The language was very clear from the beginning that this was a full car (except headliner) service. I took it back and at first was told the cargo floor was not included in the quote. Despite, us explicitly discussing getting the floor of the cargo area and the service being described as the full car (except headliner). At first I was told it would take another 3-4 hours, and charge me another half day, then he said he'd do it as a part of the original charge. About 2 hours later they said my car was ready. I came back and picked it up and notice ledges around the spare tire well had not been completed. I had no desire to return a 3rd time and confront them at this point and left the initial review. read more

If you need any customization to your vehicle, this is the place! Their pricing is fair, and posted inside, and they were very patient with all my questions. I have had the windows on a car tinted and an alarm installed on my truck and both were exactly as I expected and as they explained. I plan to have the windows on my other car tinted and all the vehicles detailed as well. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else for these after market customizations. These guys are great! Two additional notes - 1) it is a veteran owned local business, which is always great and 2) most of the local car dealerships bring their vehicles here for customization - so check those expensive markups the dealer charges or just buy it without and come get it done here yourself. read more

Took my 91' Mercedes 190E here for some new speakers. Dawn and the other person working (I think Joel) were great and got me in within a few days and it was done the same day I took it in! I was originally disappointed with the sound quality and brought this up to the staff. They got me in the next day they had audio staff available to take a look at it. When I went to pick it up they explained Mercedes being an older vehicle has limited speaker slots and is only able to fit smaller 4" speakers (which was the reason it was lacking bass). That being said DCC absolutely took care of me and addressed all my concerns while being patient and professional. They even tuned up my head unit so everything sounded as good as it possibly could given the circumstances. Ok DC Customz shop is a cool shop with good front counter service. I personally went in to have the crew install front car speakers to my 2002 Mitsubishi Montero sport that I brought in recently this past summer. Installation came out to about 80-90$ total. NOT BAD right. So now to a different issue that I noticed but never got a chance to really point out to a supervisor or the worker. When I was outside hanging out on my phone, I was able to see my car come out of the shop when it was done and the worker who was driving my car doesn't know that shifting a car into drive when it's still reversing is a bad thing. I WITNESSED THIS and didn't like it one bit but because Ive become attached to my car especially when you've invested money into maintenance and custom items to your car unlike some people who own stock cars and don't give a Sht what they do to them internally. So this is a fair warning to the "youthful " staff at DC Customz in Bountiful, Utah who drive your car in and out of the garage and is the most simplest form a advice, Don't shift gears till the car comes to a complete stop. This is by far the best sound place in town. They took my 2005 mercedes and made the stereo look like it was original.

I paid for multiple tint upgrades and have not been impressed. When I called to talk to Garret about it, he told me to bring it in and they would take care of it. Garret forgot to tell me he was off the day he told me to come back in. Pete told me he was cutting me a great deal by not charging me $200 to remove the tint. All I was expected to pay was another $400 for the new tint. Sorry guys but lifetime guarantee for a product and product satisfaction should not mean paying double to get what you're satisfied with. Bait and switch! Was told on the phone that ceramic tint for a 2017 Rouge Sport would be around $250. It was a Saturday and they had no time to do it that day, so we took the car in Monday morning first thing. Started doing paperwork, then was told it was going to be closer to $350! They claimed complete ignorance. Said nobody there would have told me that. Said they could come down a little, but that was dealer pricing and they wouldn't have told me that price unless I was a dealer. And laughed at me!! So if I was told that price, and you CAN offer that price to dealers, cover your mistake, and give me the price. Don't make ME feel like an idiot for your wrong information. I asked twice on the phone to confirm the price. I thought it was fair because it was close to what everyone else around was charging. I wanted to support a local business, and I've done business there before, but never again! I was made to feel like a complete moron. read more

Having worked for a shop that brought vehicles there I decided to have these guys detail my 2014 Honda CR-V. When I arrived for my next day appointment I also added window tinting. The interior was 99% of a new car. The remaining 1% was wear and tear on the floor mat. The ceramic window tinting looks great too. At checkout, the price was exactly as quoted.
