I'm utterly shocked and disappointed to be writing this review. We used to love Casa Lala, and were…read moreadvocates of their after-school program and summer camps, which both of our kids attended. However, the manner in which they handled the case of our 6-year old being physically abused by one of their teacher is absolutely SHOCKING. The apathy, and eventual attempt to turn the case (of physical abuse against a child) into a case of parent-teacher conflict is appalling. I have attached pictures of my email exchanges with the Casa Lala team, and their poor handling of this case. Going by their Google Reviews, this is not an isolated incident. Another parent who reported abuse against their child was treated unfairly too.

I heard from other parents that they loved the Casa Lala summer camp program so we enrolled the kid there for aftercare since the Taylor street location was a closer pickup for us. Casa Lala has two other locations which are actually home based daycares but the Taylor street location is a school-like space that used to house Breakthrough Montessori. Casa Lala is also montessori based and the director, Lala, is well loved by parents and kids. When I did a tour of Casa Lala, Lala was intent on showing me every classroom and room (even storage and offices!) and every classroom we went to, kids would run to hug her and yell "Lala!" Some of these kids are 10+ and she watched them when they were babies. She's been running a daycare from her home for over 10 years and I believe helped set up the program at LAMB. She is SO passionate about montessori style education and all the teachers are intentional about the environment and what the kids are exposed to and how they are learning. It's already a great space but Lala is still working on renovating it to feel more like a home/cozy environment. She was telling me she's trying to design one of the spaces to be a plaza where the older kids can meet and roam in. And there's a cute outdoor scooter space. I would ask them for a tour if you are interested, I learned a lot about early childhood philosophy from Lala in just 20 mins. She just exudes excitement and passion. And I can tell from the way the staff greet her and interact that she's a great boss whose passion is infectious. Every staff person I've met is friendly and welcomes my kid by name. And the kid loves going there she talks about it all the time. I would check out their website but I believe they offer day camps, school break camps, before/aftercare, and daycare as well.

My nephew is a passionate, energetic, competitive, HIGHLY intelligent (you know, that kind of kid…read morethat asks you huge existential/meaning of life questions while waiting in line at the drugstore) kiddo. The Lab has become his second home. I am SO SO thankful that he has found this community and art form. Breaking provides him with a creative outlet to be both competitive, and an expressive individual while maintaining an over all positive and supportive team outlook. He is no longer crushed by 'loosing'. He appreciates the skills of others and the teachers and older students both support and challenge him. His confidence, humility, physical strength, focus, patience, and empathy have grown enormously. As he is obsessed with break dancing he now has ways of connecting and learning about many other related topics. He has traveled to new cities to watch break dancing, he asks his uncle (my husband - a music producer) about the musical and cultural history of break beats. I also love that The Lab has exposed my nephew to teachers and mentors who externally are different from him (and our immediate family). He is meeting and learning from people of different ages, gender identies, races, creeds etc. Having a diversity of role models and teachers in your formative years is so important! Please keep doing what your doing 'The Lab'! Sincerely, A very appreciative Aunt P.S. It should be noted that The Lab has 29 "unrecommened" Yelp reviews, and they are ALL 5 starts.

Absolutely do not trust this camp. I enrolled my daughter in their cooking class and was…read moreimmediately concerned. The staff was unwelcoming, there were 15-20 kids crowded into a room with nothing but a small toaster oven sitting on a desk and a bag of groceries from Giant. I was hesitant to leave her, but she wanted to stay, so I did. The real nightmare began at pickup. My mother arrived to get her and was told to wait five more minutes. Ten minutes later, they realized they had lost my child. They had no idea where she was, didn't confirm she had made it to the waiting area, and had no system in place to monitor the children. I had to call the police. It took 40 minutes to locate my daughter. There was no apology, no assistance in the search, no refund--just blank stares. No parent sign-out process, no accountability, no sense of responsibility whatsoever. This wasn't just unprofessional--it was negligent. I wouldn't trust them to watch my mom's cat, let alone care for a child. If you value your child's safety, do not leave them here.

The camp is absolutely horrible! I have a child and a grandchild enrolled. Neither want to attend…read more We also no longer want to send them. There only seem to be two adults present. Ms. Jessica is unprofessional and has a very nasty attitude. None of the activities promised have happened (sports, cooking classes, etc.). Children are in the basement of a church with SYEP workers all day. We paid almost $3000 for this "camp". There is no standard of care for children! They do not care!

It has been wonderful to see her progress she is already beginning to recognize letters and numbers, which makes us very proud. She speaks highly of her teachers and enjoys spending time with her classmates. The school director, Koshila, is very professional, supportive, and clearly dedicated to maintaining a high standard for the school. All the staff members are kind, helpful, and genuinely seem to love what they do. I especially appreciate the regular communication from the school. I receive emails and photos that keep me updated on my daughter's daily activities, which gives me great peace of mind. I had heard many positive things about this kindergarten from friends, but now I have experienced it myself and can confidently say it is very well organized and nurturing. I highly recommend Kiddie Academy to any parent looking for a caring and professional learning environment for their child.

I contemplated writing this review for 2 months now but maybe this will help another parent. My…read moredaughter is a bright 2 year old with a speech delay. I expressed this to the school when touring as well as when enrolling. They ensured me they are equip to handle this and she is in good hands HOWEVER things went from bad to worst! My first red flag was the school calling me on day 4 of enrollment asking can I pick her up because there policy is the first week is half a day. ON DAY 4 AFTER SHE HAS BEEN IN SCHOOL FROM 8AM-5PM MONDAY TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY!!! Being the parent I am I went to the school and picked my baby up. I inquired AGAIN is this a good fit for my daughter because Im starting to feel like its not and there all over the place. AGAIN they told me yes there were equipment to handle her. ON DAY 10 I arrived at the school at 9am the teacher was not in the class.. I saw administration and they seemed lost that the teacher was not there but took my daughter and said everything was under control. When I came to pick up my daughter I requested to speak with the owner Rakhi De. In the meeting my first question was what happened to the teacher. She told me the teacher quit because the kids were "BAD" and began to blame my daughter saying that she colored on walls and the other kids followed. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A PROVIDER TO BLAME A CHILD THAT HAS BEEN IN THE SCHOOL 2 WEEKS 10 DAYS FOR A TEACHER QUITTING. THIS WAS NEVER BOUGHT TO MY ATTENTION BEFORE THIS DAY SO I BELIEVED IT WAS A DEFENSE MECHANISM!! I was upset left and got my child. The next day I spoke with the Director Marian White-Hood. I told her everything that happened the previous day. She told me that the school only had been open 1 year ( I was not aware) and the turn over rate is bad with teachers and they are underpaid. She also informed me they pay more for the camera's in the class than the do the teachers ( this shows how much the care about there staff). She also expressed how she was going to ask the parents if they could pay extra to get a better teacher in the classroom. The school is already 2150 a month! With all that being said this school does not care about your child's development there more concerned with the money. This was my child's last day there and I wouldn't recommend any one to send there child here. There were no lesson plans the kids ran wild everyday I watched the camera no discipline no structure. My daughter is in a new private school currently and I must say sometimes you have to go through the rain to get a rainbow.
