I had a discovery flight this morning with Jonathan Outmezguine (adding his last name just incase…read moreanother Jonathan is there) from Washington Flight Academy, and it was such an amazing experience. From the moment we started, he was incredibly friendly, calm, and easy to talk to, which made a huge difference as someone who had never flown before. He gave clear, helpful direction and made flying feel way less intimidating than I expected. His patience and confidence really stood out for me, as well as how comfortable he made me feel the entire time. He also went out of his way to capture a lot of footage for me, which I really appreciated. Overall, my instructor was great and made this such a smooth, enjoyable first experience. I highly recommend flying with him, and I'll definitely be back again in the future.

Definitely take some Dramamine as the cock pit is warm, lots of gauges to keep track of while watching the horizon; I love roller coasters but this had my stomach turning I do not recommend for people who are sensory sensitive. There is a lot going on to include broken chatter from other planes and Control constantly streaming over the radio (headphones). I don't think passengers would be affected when sitting in back. Definitely recommend!!

One of the best FBOs I've flown into; highly recommend flying into Montgomery if you plan on going…read moreto DC (and can't get into College Park). They are open until 7pm most weekdays, so if you want service...make sure you get here before 7pm. We arrived at 6:45 and a staff member with a golf kart met us (after calling them on the radio), showed us to our parking spot, pushed the plane back AND tied it down for us while getting our luggage to the gate. It was incredible. The FBO staff were super helpful in giving me the number to a few mechanics (spark plugs needed cleaning) on the field and even offered us some water. Parking is $15/day, but they were incredibly sweet to waive our fees for the entire 3 days with a top off. Usually they only waive one day with a 20 gallon purchase, but they were super nice to us! Getting to DC from this airport isn't too bad. You can take a Lyft/Uber directly to DC for about $40-45 (about a 35minute ride) or take a bus/taxi/Uber to the train station ($~10-15 for the taxi) and then take the train into DC($5). All in all, until I get the FRZ requirements out of the way to fly into College Park, I'll be sure to return to Montgomery if going to DC. They provided amazing service. There is also a diner right at the airport with has decent lunch and you can watch the planes taking off as you eat. Seems like a lot of locals go there.

I bought Welshie a flying lesson from Open Air flight training through Groupon for Xmas, which is…read morehow we ended up here. He always mentioned he wanted to get his flying license one day, so it was a good gift. I'm so rad. It was cold as a witch's teat and the winds were high. Our instructor was super affable and knowledgeable too. I had my camera ready and was set to snap pictures from the ground when the instructor asked me if I'd like to fly along. I was scared, to be honest, since Welshie was manning the plane, but the instructor has full control as well. It was a stomach-dropping, squeal-inducing, 20-minute flight and it was quite freeing. I did think I was going to die, though. Our instructor even said that the winds were so bad that he was going to cancel the rest of his lessons. Nice. Overall, it's a great little airpark and learning to fly is awesome. It's not cheap if you want to get your license--you're probably looking at about $10K when it's all said and done. I highly recommend trying it out at least once, though.

My friend and I came here and we filled out all our consent forms and gave them the Groupon code. Then they took us to the back and explained everything to us. In the plane, you basically sit shotgun while the experienced professional flies the plane into the air to a safe altitude and then they give you control. Flying the actual plane was such an amazing experience. It felt scarier than skydiving to me. The instructor let's you fly for about 20-30 minutes and then he takes you down to the location. He also lands the plane. It apparently gets added to your flight hours if you were planning on becoming licensed. This is a once in a lifetime experience that I high encourage you try. I don't regret it in the slightest and the staff here make you feel safe.

Friendly staff and great Certified Flight Instructors. I highly recommend Dream Flight School if you're looking to obtain your PPL or IFR certificate. The planes used are clean and well maintained, some are even being updated with the newest technology. Additionally KDMW Airport is clean, and the Skytech staff are friendly. It's always nice to have the people fueling your planes encourage your progress -- just adds to the overall experience at Dream Flight School!
