While driving in D.C. recently, my lane ended abruptly and was diverted into what looked like…read morewrong-way traffic. Confused, I hesitated a moment too long and hit the traffic island with one of my rear tires, which flattened immediately. Thankfully, there was a small pullout area nearby, so I drove my hobbled car into it and called Triple A, which immediately put me "on hold." A knuckle rapping on my driver's window alerted me that there was an officer outside my car. I rolled down the window, sure I was going to get a ticket. "Are you okay, ma'am?" he asked. I told him that I was on my way to pick up my boys at a nearby hotel and take them to the train station. I had to be there at the hotel in 20 minutes or they would miss their train. I could still hear the muzak coming from my phone and knew that AAA would never make it in time, so blurted out, "You can't fix a flat tire can you?" Much to my surprise, this kind man did exactly that--in mere minutes. The officer knew his way around a car like nobody's business. His manner was respectful and chivalrous. He had me up and rolling within ten minutes. I am forever grateful to this lovely soul for his generosity of spirit and his skills as a police officer and as a tire technician. This story has an even more important element as one of my sons is autistic and any change in plans can cause him to spiral into behaviors that make it difficult for everyone. So, the officer saved the day, quite literally. I've sent a letter of commendation to the Chief of Police.

By 2:15pm 5 people left without filing a report because the 2 women and 1 male officer at the desk just ignored everyone there and never called one name in over an hour. I eventually left at 2:17pm and went to the station in Morgan Park 22nd district, where as soon as I walked in the door the White male officer asked me how could he help me. In and out in 10 minutes. It's like night and day how each station is operating in this area. The female cop even yelled at a guy asking a question while holding his young daughters hand. The guy left and I heard him say to his kid, "I guess they're too busy to help us" SMH. Poor management

Overall her customer service and tone was very disrespectful. All because of the door malfunctioning the service she provided was not of a friendly office who enjoys what they do, helping the people! I was coming in for a hard copy of a police report because my tags were stolen off my vehicle in DC meanwhile I am a Maryland residen. I believe a conversation should be had with this officer based on customer services skills!
