They had made visible purchases. After a few minutes they were approached by a woman in some sort of authority (no ID, name take or Starbucks apron). She was met by a security guard and the young men were told to leave or the police were coming. They had done nothing wrong or offensive. Two white police officers arrived and did not ask the teens any questions and immediately brought out papers for the teens to sign that would ban them from Starbucks and another store. For a year. The manager (authority) when I asked, stayed that this action related to a previous incident. These kids were not being rowdy, offensive or disrespectful in any way shape or form. I am appalled. This is not my expectation. No parental notification. No listening to the kids. Assumed the kids were problems and acted accordingly and did not listen to anything related to the totally acceptable behavior of the group. I expect this in Arizona. Not in Rockville.

Although there is not an option to make an appointment for the kiosk, the MVA's website does have a link to determine how many folks are using the kiosks. While my experience was quick and easy, I think the MVA should install 2-3 more of these kiosks. Fortunately, I arrived super early and did not have to wait for a machine. However, as soon as I left, three customers had arrived so I assume their wait times were a longer than mine. Since the kiosks are open 24/7, I HIGHLY recommend doing this as early in the day as possible.

Sometimes I love to stop by and get a good read.. or get on the computer since their internet is a…read morelot faster than mine or when I need to print something. However this library is a lot smaller than Gburg or Germantown. The computers are kind of in the center and just a few stations. To my dismay, they are all clumped together. Unlike Gaithersburg where people are spaced out. I like my personal space but there are some grown folks that don't cover there mouths when they cough and sneeze...or leave their tissues on the table and not take it with them when they leave. I strongly suggest bring your own wipes and wipe down your area.. as if you were at the gym. My second ick... is the kids You have kids that will take up the computers to play Robloxs or Minecraft. The time limit is about 1 hour but the librarian will usually extend your time. My favorite part of this library is that they have a Lucky Day shelf with books that are very popular That you can get without being on a long waiting list. Maybe because I've been around the country and visit different libraries and we are definitely not like NYC -Brooklyn or Denver. Where they have tons of amenities .

Was here for the June 29, 2024 Gaithersburg summer fest and was let down by the disorganization of the personal on how they handle the entering and exiting of the people. The festivals open at 6 pm and at around 6:15 we were on the outside trying to turn into the event. The police basically block 1 lane from each side which was causing a back up in traffic. It took about 15 minutes to get in and park. There were staff personal to direct people where to park. Upon exiting my car I overheard a staff on his walkie-talkie saying that the parking lot was full and the festive just open. The festive has food vendor, a cooling station, ems & police on scene, live music. After the firework I headed to my car at 9:50 pm and the parking lot exit was block by a police car so everyone had to sit in there car for an hour. All in all, a very underwhelming experience here and won't be back in the future.
