I recently participated in a resume consult with Tim. I thought 15 minutes was not enough time. I…read morewas mistaken. Tim covered more ground in those 15 minutes than I probably do in a 30+ minute run. This was, of course, possible because he requested my resume when I scheduled the appointment. Not only did he review my resume prior to the session, he asked questions about my professional history, learned about my goals, and provided feedback. He provided insight, and persuaded me, to stop trying to scrunch my experience into just one page. He provided many visual examples (definitely appreciated them) and helped me find some key phrasing for describing my strengths. He also explained how I can help the hiring manager see how my current goal to pivot my career is a logical one. In the end, I was provided with a resume template. Honestly? I felt invigorated by the whole process, and ready to take on the world. It allowed me to revamp my resume so that I could finally start applying for new jobs. If you need help with your resume, or struggling to highlight how you excelled at your last role, I would definitely contact Next Jump to aid you.

I booked an appointment. I was transparent that I have chronic pain and can't clean, and that…read moresickness in recent months had hindered me and made me unable to have anyone else in. Their rate is $75/ hour with a 2 hour minimum but they had good reviews. My cleaner arrived. I reiterated my situation with the pain and sickness. I thanked her for coming and apologized for the mess. She said that's why she was here. But then she came into my apartment and looked around with judgy silence. I explained what I can and can't do due to disability and how she could best help. She texted the business owner and took a call outside. Then she told me they weren't equipped for this ($75 / hour doesn't buy you cleaning?) and that the company owner would probably come talk to me about how to best help. I said I didn't hire anyone to come talk to me. I hired someone to clean. And I was transparent every step of the way about my disability and persistent sickness. I deserve a clean home and I deserve dignity despite illness that puts an undue burden on me. It's extra gross because they market themselves as being understanding based on neurodivergence. Yet , heaven forbid someone who's too sick to clean tries to hire them to clean. And it's not like she even tried to do a few basic tasks. This experience was humiliating, frustrating, disappointing, and a giant waste of my time and efforts at transparency. I imagine the owner will email me with secondhand opinions of my apartment to try to explain why, at $75 an hour, their cleaner couldn't just try to scrub a bathtub, and why their remedy would be the owner coming here to condescend to me because I tried to hire cleaners to help with a disclosed disability. DISGUSTING Owner called back to apologize for "'miscommunication " and said they didn't have the equipment for cat litter-- I have the litter boxes in another room and of course litter gets tracked. Regardless I wasn't told that any of this had to do with cat litter. How about apologizing for making clients feel like they have the dignity of a litter box?
