It's a really good bank. Do not go to 50 Foster Street for banking; it is NOT A BANK. If you want a wedding, religious event, trade show, concert, job fair or basically anything that is NOT A BANK, then go to the d.c.u. CENTER. They have DCU ATMs but they are not a BANK. They're the home of the Best Boy, Trax, and the hockey team, the railers. They are the venue with the most delicious food and beverage around, and I have checked! So if you want to see the legendary Trax bring on the victory of the railers while you enjoy the most cost effective delicious food of all time, go to the DCU CENTER. If you want banking, go to other DCU locations other than the wonderful DCU center where Trax is always the best boy! Ps, they are not a bank; they bring you things better than money- such as Trax and the Railers! Please do not go up to the DCU CENTER asking about banking stuff, it only confuses and bothers the staff who are there to deliver you a forever memorable event with the wonderful Trax and all sorts of other treasures! My husband and I have been DCU customers for over 3 years. I like the Shrewsbury branch the best because they have a drive through window. Yes, you wait a long time on Thursday or Friday afternoon. But that's because EVERYONE is going to the drive through cashing checks/writing checks/depositing checks on payday. Occasionally, I get stuck behind that asshole who comes ill prepared and wants to essentially conduct a real estate closing at the damn window because he/she is too lazy to park and go into the bank to conduct major 'business'. But the person working the window is hustling and trying to take care of everyone. Lindsay did our auto loan and was very informative on how to improve credit and safeguard credit. I got information from her that I was unable to get Googling these topics. DCU is a little more strict on terms and limits with loans and credit cards. But you absolutely cannot beat the free checking (they even send you free checks, so no cost there). If you don't play basketball with your checks, then you won't have to worry about the bounced check fees. But if you're a financial hoops fan, their fees are less than other banks. We have never had less than a friendly experience with the tellers. And, they have a coin machine! Free! Now that there is this thing called an EZ PASS, I have a shit ton of change that accumulates in my car. Every now and then, I fish the change out from underneath the floor mats, try to get the stuck ABC gum off of them bad boys and cash it in. Do the bank Gods a favor. Remove the dog hair and residue from that chocolate Frosty that tipped over in your car 6 months ago when you took the rotary going 80 miles an hour. The machine takes it, but have a heart. Has anyone tried to get account statements lately? I have tried to get recent credit card statements, but they are either having system problems or database problems, or both. The reason that I look for statements is because their website does not include itemized monthly interest charges. Their website is pretty sad since their new version came out last year. A lot of nonsense that you don't need, and you can't get what you're looking for if it's how much DCU charges for interest. DCU seems to be the Southwest Airlines of local banking. Too much growth and no improvements to accommodate that growth. read more

I applied for an auto loan with DCU due to the great rates they advertised. I provided all requested documents and I am the most qualified candidate a bank could wish to have. They denied me stating they couldn't verify my address and my identity. They never once reached out to me to request further documentation. I ended up going with Logix bank who approved me in a heartbeat with my 850 credit score. Something is not right at this bank and I would strongly recommend staying away from it. read more

Not this location but their customer service number is a joke to try and get a hold of someone. They say enter your member ID and you'll get through quicker. Been 15 minutes already and 6th attempt to different location because when you say declined transaction you listen to a ring the entire time after 5 minutes I went insane. It can get busy after 5 ( since most people are at work until then too) but I don't understand these crappy reviews. I am a new member as of 2 months ago and I cannot even tell enough people how much I love DCU. I STRAIGHT LOVE DCU BANK OMGGGG SOO I divorced regular banks a few years back, switching to a credit union. Not this one, but another unnamed one. While they have large bank services, they were great at making me feel less like a number and more like a human,. .. until I needed anything. New /Replacement debit cards were like pulling teeth to get, and took FOREVER to arrive (over 2 weeks) now that wouldn't be so bad if their hours lined up with anything normal. They'd be open till 7 on a Thursday but closed at 3 on Fridays?: How the hell do you figure that one? I guess I can't say anything on that because they were a very small credit union with their own set of rules. Wire transfers were particularly so so delayed and their process was so bad It was what forced me to look elsewhere. A good friend told me she had been banking at DCU for years and had nothing bad to say about it. On a whim, I opened an account online. Once all my vital info was in the system, I saw that I could get a debit card printed instantly at a branch. WHAT ?? REALLY - I remember BOA ( The devil bank) having this service but it wouldn't have your name on it it just said "preferred customer" and that was your name until you received the replacement card a 8 billion weeks later. So after work I stopped down here at the Worcester location to do just that. It was a busy afternoon with a long line for the tellers and a bunch of people waiting that had checked in to be seen. FYI if you aren't a citizen of Worcester or a town on their partnered list, you would just have to make a small $10 donation to be a member. Is it the prettiest bank with golden tassels on the baroque embroidered curtains? Does the lobby resemble that of the palace at Versailles? No. Come on now. Its just a bank and its just in Worcester. Its not filthy by any means but lets face it, venture capitalists don't exactly stroll in on Wednesday afternoon to procure their long-term investments,..so they really don't need to impress anyone. There is a little break room looking area with cafe tables and some instant coffee/K-cups with tea and refreshments while you wait. You can also use the free Wifi. Nice added touch. The area probably gets cleaned before they open so late in the day I imagine its not spotless. These people are bankers, not custodians and the cleaning crew arrives AFTER they close down or before they open, just keep that in mind before you try to eat a 3-course dinner there. It was probably 10 mins I waited to be seen. In less than 15 mins I had a card printed with MY real name on it, ordered checks, processed my first deposits, set up direct deposit and even linked my old Credit union with DCU via their network of joint branching! Peace - see ya later- done. As soon as the card was activated ( I actually got to choose my PIN # in the bank, not wait for an auto generated one in the mail) I was DONE in less than 35 mins in and out the door. I'm finding all kinds of added benefits and perks being a member since. The app is amazing and lets you see a great detail of information without having to login to the website... you can notify the bank of travel dates so they are aware of charges outside your normal area, they in some cases will reimburse you for ATM fees,, the international exchange rate (atm withdrawals) is only 1-2% , and if you use your debit card at another credit Union atm, its very likely you won't receive a service charge at all. Tried to obtain a mortgage on a property I owned out right due to a divorce. The underwriters kept asking for more and more paperwork not mentioned on the website for getting a mortgage. Finally stopped the process and got other funding. Do not use as they keep increasing what you need to get the mortgage after you're well into the process hoping you won't back out. Worst mortgage application experience in forty years of home buying. read more

I used to like this institution. Now I have to make an appointment to do any transaction and lets hope that it isn't the same day because time slots are hard to come by. I could go to the drive up window, but the line is literally so long they needed to hire a cop to direct the line. If I need the atm, one car can be there for 20mins making all their transactions. As far as I know, its the only bank in the city that still does this. If I didn't need to make an appointment, all my money would already be somewhere else. read more

This is the most disorganized and run down DCU branch I've ever been to. They were partially closed and only had the drive through atm machine open. However, that same day they allowed me to make a lobby appointment and I drove all the way there to find that the lobby was closed and nobody was there to help. Doesn't even deserve a star they seem to be the worst organized institution I've walked into the lobby looked like a homeless shelter the method or lack there of for checking in to open an account is non-existent and when I asked how do you know who's next the response was "We just yell out our doors to see who is next". Friendly staffs but bank services are poor,I've been denied for a personal laon of $10 000 although my credit score is 800 ,I asked them to closed my accounts both saving and checking and end their credit card, I spend almost $1800 monthly using their credit card, now you loose . Was approved for a loan online in the morning. Saved the application for later and was never able to sign back in because the "link" for a password reset was never sent. Was on hold waiting to speak to anyone for over an hour. Never got anyone. Called back, and an automated message said they were experiencing high call volumes and that I could a call back... in 3 days! Dealership was waiting and I couldn't get anyone on the phone. If it had been a month before when I got my auto loan, I would have probably gave 5 star for them for the swift response and closure. DCU offered me a credit card along with my auto loan, there started the story. 1. When I had the auto loan DCU charged me 20$ for the courier delivery, which was charged as a cash advance in my credit card, which was never told to me. 2. I had a interest rate for this in my billing cycle, which I can understand. I paid the whole amount along with the interest amount mentioned in the statement. 3. I got the statement for the next month and still saw some interest. Update from DCU is, when I am making a cash advance I should pay the full amount mentioned in the statement, before making any transaction in the next cycle. If I am making a transaction in the following month, before making the outstanding as 0, there will be a difference in the amount and I will be charged with an interest. For this, DCU doesn't even deserve a star. read more
