When we are on vacation we don't mind splurging a little for the hotel -- but with price comes expectations. I will start with the positives -- the Concierge and Bell staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the design of the hotel -- however our room needed a refresh and bathroom needed some attention to the grout. The cleaning staff were the biggest disappointment -- seemed to forget towels and take pillow away -- felt like we were constantly having to ask them to replace. The hotel seemed to be understaffed and disconnected. Nice hotel, but highly overpriced for the value.

Redefining Perfection & Excellence Through Hospitality & Customer Service There is a reason these folks consistently receive 5 star ratings. our 4 day stay at the Hotel De L'Europe was THE best hotel experience anyone could ever dream of. the incredible location, central to all activities in town, only adds to the impeccable service and amenities this place has to offer. From the Spa center and delightful modern pool, to the heated floors in the bathroom, robes, incredible sound system, coffee maker, comfortable beds and great pillows, excellent wi-fi reception at all times, the decorations, the lighting system, room service, the turndown service and the little gifts they leave in your room each night. the concierge was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly and helpful. This is by far, the BEST hotel stay we have ever experienced. A special thanks to the team of employees for having made our incredible vacation such a memorable one.

Another great property of Leading Hotel of the World. De L'Europe is a classic Amsterdam hotel, not far from Amsterdam Central. Location is excellent, at the corner of the canal and market places. As Leader Club member, they gave me 4 category upgrades to a suite with 2 balconies overlooking the canal...that's customer service.

All the rock memorabilia seems to be gone…read more The place is probably more in tune with its sensational history, maybe there is a new Yelp! page for the Clayton American Hotel, but I couldn't find one. At any rate, my experience was great. Tasteful and elegant deco atmosphere. People singing in the street at 2:00 am, but that's Leidesplein. Chalk it up as part of the experience.

It hadn't changed since Mata Hari (First World War female spy) had stayed there. As we were visiting Amsterdam again I decided, on this trip, to spoil us a little. On booking I was a little concerned that the Hard Rock organisation had taken this hotel over. So with trepidation I took the chance. OK, remember, we are oldies so can be hard to please some tell us. On arrival, the outside hadn't changed other than the bar now stretched out a little and there was service from the restaurant outside. Reception was so swift by a fantastic bubbly young lady who sorted out a room although we were three hours before the normal signing in. I wish I could remember her name. Walking to our room I noticed the architecture hadn't changed but the decoration was wonderful with so much rock music memorabilia. We LOVED it. The room, overlooking the canal, was a lot smaller than years ago but, shrug, space has to be filled. The room was more than adequate with a wonderful bathroom with walk-in shower. Breakfast was in the dining hall which was a high-light years ago. I was so pleased to see that none of the wonderful art deco had been lost. The President Hotel in Prague had ripped it all out there, sob. Here, there was modernisation, but the windows, walls and lights remained. Obviously the designer had looked and thought 'wow, we can't get rid of this'. Good on him/her. A fantastic stay and on our next visit we know where to stay. Really wish I could remember that young ladies name because she made that day for us. Hi

As soon as my cab stopped in front, a man immediately came down the stairs to help me with my bag and escort me to the check in area. They asked if I wanted anything to drink and I said of course champagne! They gave me two! I checked in with Lisa who was amazing! She had me pick out a scent for my room. What? I didn't know that existed! Super fun! My room wasn't ready because I had booked late even though it was 3pm but I didn't mind waiting, especially when they gave me that 2nd glass of champagne. When I got my room, Lisa and Fae escorted me to the room to make sure I liked it and it was beautiful. I loved how the light came into the bathroom. On that note the bathtub was so nice I almost fell asleep in it! You receive welcome chocolates in the shape of Amsterdam shoes which were so cute and delicious! I ordered room service as the bar only served snacks and did not want to go to the restaurant by myself as it was really open. I got the Waldorf Astoria Burger which was amazing and so good! I'd go back to this hotel just for that burger itself. The next day I also had the breakfast and was able to get the whole tray of assortments and all the juices and coffee I wanted PLUS another dish! All complimentary with my Hilton Diamond status. I ordered the French toast and everything was delicious! Obviously I couldn't eat it all but was able to take some left to the room for later. I also had a spa appointment while here. Massage was great and the masseuse mentioned to see a physical therapist to help my lower back pain that I was complaining about as she said it was coming from my glutes, legs, knees. I've seen a couple of masseuses in the last two years in the states and one in Canada and NONE had ever even mentioned that that could help. I love this! Very professional staff. The spa also very serene with sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. They have a door to the garden which I'm assuming is beautiful in summer but I was here in February so it was freezing! When I checked out it was with Lisa again and she was great as usual and the guys helped me with my bags again when my uber came. They let me sit in the other room and said they'd let me know when it was here. Very nice. I did not want to leave. Haha!

Liked the interior decor/design and focus on eco-friendly sustainable practices as well. The staff are super friendly and helpful - they provided a map and made lots of great recommendations regarding restaurants and things to see. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious - has A/C. There is a safe available in the room as well, though there was no fridge. Loved all the snacks they provided, from the gummy bears in the room, to pastries and coffee in the communal area downstairs. They also provided a snack goodie bag on checkout though I forgot to pick mine up when I went back to pick up my stored luggage at the end of the day.
