It's just outside of Calgary which is great because on a day when you want a haircut, perhaps it's better to relax and just get out of the crazy busy of your life and enjoy the experience of going somewhere where you know you'll get a great cut in a great atmosphere with great staff. Currently, my hair is in dire need of a cute cut and not just the typical DC style, so I'm missing Michelle even more than usual at the moment. Not only does Michelle give the most wonderful cuts, colours, highlights, updos, and make-up applications (trust me, after 6/7+ years, I've had the excuse to try them all), but she always treats you with the greatest respect and kindness. Even when I was a little kid going through my awkward Junior High School phase, Michelle always made me feel like I was the coolest girl around. It's also clear that Michelle's respect for others extends to her staff because the working environment has a great vibe -- always a pleasant thing for the customer since no one wants to feel tension in a salon. From the moment that you walk into Tru Elegance you know that you're in great hands and that you'll be taken care of. No matter who you are, Michelle is always glad to see you, and you immediately feel at ease (hello relaxation)! The staff is also kind and upbeat; I've never encountered any snootiness that is unfortunately far too common at DC salons. One time after I got home from a haircut I decided that I wanted the length of my layers slightly shorter, and Michelle made time for me for the very next day. She happy fixed up my hair so that I was 110% satisfied and never once made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. Michelle is definitely more than just a stylist to me. She's also a great role model who has proven that with some hard work and perseverance your dreams will come true and that it's okay to follow your own path.
