Watercolor classes for beginner & intermediate adult students (18yrs+) with a focus on watercolor basics design & technique. Classes run in 4 week intervals on the first four Thursdays of each month from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Register online at www.desomerart.com/classes. De Somer Fine Art Studio was originally launched in Southern California and has recently relocated to the Northern Indiana where Tom met and married his wife Cindi. The business continues to thrive with the inspirations of the Pacific Southwest beauty, and the rock solid foundations of family support within Midwest America.

Meet the Business Owner: Tom D.

I've always loved to create. Ever since I was young, I would spend hours drawing both from references as well as from my imagination. Much of my childhood memories take me back to our dining room table or to the garage where we spent hours creating all kinds of "stuff" with my family. Art for me has always been exciting...and always personally rewarding. As an artist, I am unashamedly traditional in my approaches to this water medium. I paint with large, bold, colorful brush strokes creating symbols and shapes that allow the colors to blend on the paper and draw the viewer into the work. Painting with Arches 140lb cold press paper and Daniel Smith paints, I can think of no other place I would rather be to unwind and relax than painting in my private art studio while listening to Jazz music. I believe that art is essential to life. Art captures a unique impression of our world while becoming a window into our soul.
